[NEEDED] Compiler Devs - Galaxy Tab 4 General

Hello Devs!,
I put together this branch and tree on GitHub. It is completed. Could someone compile it? Thanks.
I am leaving XDA, giving support, is not yet decided. So whoever wants to compile this, go for it.

Do we need something else than Git and Repo to build?
I want to try to compile it.

I tried to ompile this on Ubuntu, but when I use repo sync command on the Terminal, it starts a process of ~5 min., and then it gives an error and stops.
I already ran the repo command and have all packs installed.

The files are larger than 15GB. People report that the oreo one doesn't work. But you can try it, if you want. https://github.com/secretwolf98/device_samsung_degas

[Q] ZTE V955 phone rooting and Google Play store

I have a Chinese ZTE V955 phone.
This model appears in the list of the Google approved phones and seems to work extremely well.
The Android version is 4.0.4. Kernel version 3.0.21 –perf.
For some reason there are no Google apps on this telephone, which is extremely frustrating.
Also there is no way to add a Google user to “Accounts and sync”.
I understood there is a way of adding the Google Play store after rooting the phone.
After a lot of searching and trying, I have been able to root this telephone in an instant with ICS Root Unlocker 1.0.
I have Superuser and Total Commander can write to protected files.
I found a GoogleLoginService apk and a GoogleServicesFramework apk, which I installed.
After that I was able to add a Google account in accounts and Sync.
I was also able to install Google Talk and I can log in.
Then I installed several versions of the Google Play apk.
The application starts, loads some 48k data and the stops with the message “Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped”. Behind that message there is another message that probably asks for the user to accept or decline the Google conditions, but I cannot click because of the first message on top.
Some sites suggest to copy the vendor.apk to the system/app directory and install it after changing that file’s permissions. I did not try that because I’m a little scared of upsetting this directory.
Can anyone help me further ?
Can I flash the Gapps package without flashing a new Rom I don't seem to find one for this phone) ?
Do I need to edit the etc/hosts file ?
Thanks a lot.

I have buyd the same phone, I have tried to instal several Google Play APKs and no one have worked.
When I tried to install a new Recovery, the phone stops and no more starts.
He start but only in DFU mode. I need a way to reflash the firmware, but I found nothin!
Another way that he starts is pressing Vol UP+DOWN+POWER. Windows asks for driver: 19d2:0249 (idVendor = 19d2, idProduct = 0249) but no were I have found this.

[LINUX/WINDOWS] EXT to F2FS ROM converter

Basic info
What is F2FS
F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) is a flash file system created by Kim Jaegeuk at Samsung for the Linux operating system kernel. The motive for F2FS was to build a file system that from the start takes into account the characteristics of NAND flash memory-based storage devices (such as solid-state disks, eMMC, and SD cards), which are widely used in computer systems ranging from mobile devices to servers.
Prerequisites
A s2ve/s2vep
F2FS compatible recovery (I recommend TWRP)
GNU/Linux with unzip, zip, patch packages or Windows
Usage
Linux:
Code:
cd linux
chmod +x convert.sh
./convert.sh [ROM_NAME].zip
Windows:
Code:
Install cygwin with patch, unzip, zip, wget, perl, cpio and copy files to cygwin home catalog
cd linux
chmod +x convert.sh
./convert.sh

It's for converting roms, not backups.
Morning LuK,
I managed to convert the latest Pac-man rom to f2fs using your tutorial for Windows.
Followed step by step and finaly everything went well. Thank you for making possible to use the new file format on our S2 Plus.
First i wanted to just update the existing Pac rom with the f2fs one, but it gave me an error, so i made a factory reset and this time it flashed ok.
With my little to no experience i would like to ask if only system gets the new file format, as in my convertion the other two (data and cache) are on the ext4 file format.
So far the phone works nicely, no sod, no reboot.

F2FS is just faster file system for flash memories (like ours). So in fact it can make your phone faster but it's not that visible in normal use.

[UPDATE] Secure boot unlocked!

Big Update!!
Caution
Before doing anything, disable bitlocker or your surface won't boot.
Run this command in Command Prompt :-
manage-bde -protectors %systemdrive% -disable (either replace %systemdrive% with C: or just leave it at that)

Great idea:laugh:, but unfortunately I cannot try because when I boot into safe mode with cmd it asks for bitlocker recovery key and I don't have it so I have to 'skip this drive'(boot to virtual drive) and my normal account does not have admin rights and I cannot change it.
I can only view settings.

Hmm... How? I only write a recovery key to unlock it.
Those flags are simply status flags, they're set by the kernel on boot. The kernel keeps track of SecureBoot internally. You can set those to disabled and change permissions so nothing can overwrite them, doesn't change anything.

If it were as easy as changing a registry key we would've found that already. It's also very rude to mass-notify a number of users like that.

First back up every thing in your phone to the PC, cause this rom will delete everything.
Unzipfile in your PC, then go to the folder where you unzip it, there is a sub folder called ADB, copy all content and paste it to da main folder, with the .img files. Next open the one of the .exe file from the ADB, I forget its name I think its start.exe. Open it by pressing shift on the keyboard and right click the mouse, run as administrator, you will run a command prompt.
Then shut down your phone, go to bootloader by pressing power an volume keys at the same time, after that connect your phone to your PC.
When connected go to your PC command prompt, type, flash_all.bat. Hopefully it will flash everything in the folder, then reboot the phone.
But be careful, cause this will delete all you data. So better back up everything.

UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
This script brute forces your bootloader until it finds the code.
1.Download the python script : mega.nz/file/aoUAka4I#Tkn7fAqLGm4GtG89w-oIrymacQHlfhcfHyl8WHHUDXc
2.Download the python program from Python website.
3.Install the python program.
4.Unzip the script.
5.Write your phone FIRST IMEI down.
6.Enable developer options in Android.
7.Enable USB debugging in Android.
8.Connect your device to the computer and launch the script.
Use command: C:\your file location\your file location\ python unlock.py
9.When prompted insert your phone's FIRST IMEI
The process could take days but you don't have to pay for programs like DC-Unlocker and sooooo on.
If you get the error "unknownfail" you must edit the "unlock.py" file and modify "True" to "False" from "unknownfail" section.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
The program was created by "SkyEmie" and i just made the tutorial.
Is it safe ? Any chance of data loss ?

If it gets the good bootloader code it automatically reset the mobile phone. All the phones does this.
Ifnit takes days does it continue where left off ?
I got this.
fastboot: error: Command failed
Could not parse output.
Please check the output above yourself.
If you want to disable this feature, switch variable unknownfail to False

Don't worry. Every bootloader unlocking wipes all user data for sure!
About paid unlocking - to got you unlocking code, phone has to reboot and be wiped. After unlocking bootloader with code, in bootloader mode, phone also had to reboot and wipe all user data. Take your chance to install custom recovery and remove forced encryption if you want to try some custom rom or just backup user data.

you must edit unlock.py file (right click>edit with ide>) and at "unknownfail" line it will say "True" change it to "False"
It doesnt work on emui10, Readme says.
Hello. I was very interested in the topic.
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader on the Huawei P30 Pro in this way? I can have Emui 9
Has anyone succeeded?
Has been running for 12 hours so far on my Huawei Y560-U02.
Will update if it works...
Running on the spare PC.
Screen information did not change since it started but I can see the CPU is busy.
Hey guys,
i also have tried to bruteforce my bootloader code with the python script you mentioned. However, without any kind of success. I've tried both EMAIs and it hasn't found a fitting bootloader code. (And yes I got EMUI 5 and the EU version). Seems like my only choice is to buy a dc unlocker code.
Now back to you. Instead of using a single-core python script check out this github repository, where somebody wrote the whole thing in C# but multithreaded. IT'S WAY FASTER. Only took 5-10 Minutes compared to the 5-10 hours python script by SkyEmie. Here is the link:
h t t p s://github.com/rainxh11/HuaweiBootloader_Bruteforce (sorry but i'm new to this forum so i am not allowed to send links unobfuscated) =)
I will try it for some more times but with different methods...
I hope you will succeed and if you do, please post it to this forum.
:good:
Edit: I compiled the program so you can download it directly if you want: h t t p://www .mediafire .com/file/h0w27xk18makz79/HuaweiBootloader_Bruteforce.exe/file

I ran the c# program 3 times, i am not sure if the last number it outputs is the password but i tried it and it failed to unlock.
I am now waiting for python and will follow up with an update when something interesting happens.
It does not seem that the Python method works on my type of device.
It tried to get the C# one running but it seems that it needs to be compiled 1st. I tried to compile it but I get error messages.
Can I get some tips on how to compile or or how to run it...

there is a compiled version of it on github under "releases". Or you can use my compiled version which i included in my thread.

No, it tries ALL combinations that are possible for your device given by the IMEI so the last number is just the last one tried.
Important is: your device has to be in bootloader mode for this program to work properly.
Question: what device do you have? I've got the P9 Lite and couldn't bring it to work neither.

if the program hangs at the end with something like a code, is that the code?

No, look at the thread above for information about how the program works.
Thanks for tip.
C# worked but it only ran through a few and then it just stopped. It created a text file and there are around 300k possible codes for this.
The device I am using is Y560-U02 from 2015 running on Kitkat.
I found a 25 sec video for P9 last week. Maybe someone can figure out how they got it to work. It seems to be running on Python program.

I found a way to bypass when it just stops. It is stopping after 16 attempts each time.
I will test my method and then post it here.
It should work for all Windows users.

If you go to task manager you will see that it creates a fastboot.exe for each attempt. So Create a batch file with the below code and it will stop all of them on a loop with the time defined. Run it as Administrator to ensure that it works. Time is in seconds
Download the nircmd from the bottom of the below link. I used the not 64 bit one and and extract it then move the exe files to the C:\Windows\system32 folder or edit the script to include the directory you extract the files to.

@Echo off
:Loop
Timeout /T 10
nircmd.exe killprocess "fastboot.exe"
Goto loop:

Well in theory, the fastboot.exe files should close automatically after they tried to unlock the bootloader with the given code. Not sure wether this may be dependent from the device youre using.
It seems to be happening on all the devices that are using the C# script.
Even on yours. You mentioned that it is hanging. This is the way to bypass it. It has reached over 30k so far which is over 10%.

Well, the funny thing is, the guy in the video also hasn't got it to work, which is not an unexpected result, since it would take decades to do it like he did (he is testing ALL codes from 0 to ?).
