Hello! I have exactly the same problem, I get the following error when trying to flash fw.
"Sw rev. Check fail. Device: 6, binary 5".
Did you solve it? If yes, can you post the link to the firmware?
Thanks in advance.
Vincenzo.
You can't downgrade from bit6. Flash any version of firmware 7.0 bit 6 (like g920fxxu6...)
i have the sam problem ..can any one post tutorial how to fix Sw rev. Check fail. Device: 6, binary 5 pleaseeeee

so uhm, basically i solved, or at least i hope, downloading a firmwware that in the name include a v6. practically my phone flashed correctly, but even now i have the same problem as before, phone stuck in bootloop, and no recovery. Only download, but it seems without any meaning at this point (for me at least)

Hey, did you go any further? I'm stuck with this problem, and my device binary is 6 even though the latest firmware for my country is 5.

unfortunately i haven't find a working method; BUT a way i found that can solve the problem is to wait until some dev. come out with some progress. Non the less the knoxx it's a safety feature implemented to prevent data leaking (i think this is the purpose), and to prevent it the must had put on it some work on it to prevent whoever might be to modify the phone data/software.
ps. just today watching a yt video guess what was the ad about. Samsung security knoxx :crying:

anyway since your device is still in rev 5 it's possible some work. You must find a rev 5 "problem solver" firmware. I've encountered some searching for a rev 6, but it cannot be downgraded so im stuck, maybe it can be your lucky day:good:

the issue in this thread is that the OP is trying to flash a revision 5 bootloader firmware set on a phone that has already had the revision 6 version installed. you cannot go backwards in bootloader versions. go to sammobile.com/firmware and get the a firmware set with the same or higher bootloader version and you should be fine

did you ever manually flash firmware with Odin on your phone? Did you buy it new?

Could anyone please help me out? I have a bricked device and am looking into how to unbrick it.
I'm particularly interested if the English version of HiSuite which says it supports the L09 and L29 actually does.
Could anyone with an L29 or an L09 please put their device in fastboot and try the system recovery from hisuite:
http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/HiSuite_en/
A new version which supposedly supports the phones was released.
Could anyone confirm if this works?
cmon guys, help out this man, so that he can continue to help us with new firmware updates

I did it with a L29 device. The app says Device is in recovery mode, and once I clicked next, It says your device is not supported for system recovery. Please take your device to a nearby huawei service center.
If your device is unlocked reflash through fastboot

I wish that I could do that, but there are partitions that I can't flash with fastboot, which I did flash using other means when reverse engineering the updates. Those are the partitions which are broken and don't allow my phone to boot, or show anything on the screen for that matter.
There is a restore mechanism built into Huawei's fastboot to get into a separate restore mode, but I think there is a special recovery image needed which the Huawei Hisuite app can access. I just don't know how to find it when all the devices come back as unsupported, despite being shown as supported in the documentation. It's very strange.
This is something that Sony had done with two hidden partitions FOTA and TA . This makes the device unbrickable and also.Have the OEM ways to keep the boot locked with hidden features.
Hisuite latest Windows app has these features to restore and when I tried,it scanned my.phone and found.My.phone to be working fine.
1) start the hisuite App on pc
2) connect to the phone in fastboot mode
3) restore
4) the app scans and looks for the partitions and then restores the bricked phone ONLY

Sorry to make this as another post
After downloading from that site the app is old edition.
After installing, check updates and you get latest hisuite app with material design with more features.
If anyone wants, I can upload the app which is 30+mb

Hi, I have a mate 8 NXT-L09 with C212B120 firmware, I tried the procedure you describe because I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted only to discover I did not like the out come, I lost some functionality of the huawei themes app and now I like to go back to its original out of the box state, to make long story short (not really), the huawei tool says it doesnt recognize the device and that I should take it to them for repairs, I tried this while i had TWRP and also while I had stock recovery on the device.
I wonder if it doesnt recognize the device because its rooted or with an unlocked bootloader?, im tempted to unroot and relock the bootloader and see if that will do the trick?, if i try this ill let you know what goes.
Cheers.

Hi there, sorry for taking this long, didnt realize I had a message on this thread, hopefuly you already fixed your situation, if not, let me know, for sure I can help.
Saludos.
I have had this phone for over a month and came across many root files but all costed a fee and was all from China directly. I was not able to pay for these as it was restricted so that only chinese residents can purchase as outsiders like us cannot purchase RMB or Chinese Yuan. I want to know if anyone can help me configure a TWRP file for this phone and help me root this device as this could be helpful for people who are stuck with the same problem as me as their J7108's do not have google play due to the fact that it is from China directly and the only closest version is the J7108 from Hong Kong which has google play and I have not been able to obtain the ROM for that device.
If anyone here knows how to root New Chinese Market phones or know anyone who has a J7108 from Hong Kong, please let them know because I really need the flash files for this device!
I have the hk rom version

guys, you'd best use IDM to download this rom.
Bricked my phone
This rom is not compactible with SM-J7198 hk version. It'll only brick your phone. Please do not flash this rom. and anyone please help me get Stock firmware for SM-J7108 hk version.
The original HK firmware for sm-j7108 is here: http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=5C13445B54D811E6B055FA163EE8F90B
It works, I used it to fix my FRP locked China mainland phone. Note the webpage says it is version 6.01 )Marshmallow), but it is not, it is 5.11.
To get the pre-rooted HK firmware, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/development/j7108-how-to-root-galaxy-j7-2016-model-t3426967
And please beware to enable oem unlock first so you do not FRP lock like I did. Or use his newest rooted firmware on page 2 - which has no possibility of FRP lock. I have now tested his first solution and its good, The second I have not yet successfully downloaded

Note the date of the post, February 6th. It's an old firmware however I would imagine this would fix your issue, I would just recommend getting a newer firmware. Alternatively you could flash this and then take all the OTAs.
See the 5th character from the right of the model number, "4". Make sure that's what your current firmware has, as you cannot go backwards (i.e from. 5 to 4)

Note the date of the post, February 6th. It's an old firmware however I would imagine this would fix your issue, I would just recommend getting a newer firmware. Alternatively you could flash this and then take all the OTAs.

Yeah...this one has 8, so, this is useless for me. I did, however, find an app that disables the backlight and restores responsiveness to the capacitive keys (Galaxy Button Lights 2). That feature was removed (or hidden) in 8.0 under display settings.
Not sure why they did that.?

Hi! I've the same model as you, and it looks like samsung it's updating without the option now.
I wrote about this about 2 month ago i think, if you want you can read it here:

I'll do soon as I can.
Forgot to say.. how do you enable oem unlock on this device? Do I have to wait a whole week with it turned on? I want all the necessary information before installing TWRP and rooting. Also.. what about Android pie? Because Samsung posted that they will update this device to Android Pie, same for the j4+ one. I don't want to softbrick the phone or lose root when updating.

Es lo mismo J400 M que J400F
No entiendo ,porque parten hablando del j400 M y terminan dando remedios para el J400 F ....
Just came here as a way to thank everyone for this thread and say that the twrp for j4lte works perfect fine for SM-J400m on latest version android 10. Just enable OEM lock and flash it through ODIN.

Exynos Galaxy J4 is kind of similar to J3 2017 in terms of chipset and resolution so TWRP and ROMs of J3 2017 may work on J4.

Normally, when you request AUTH file, it is because you are using the wrong button combination, or you have not selected the correct download-agent

Anyways, my friend had a Nokia 3 TA-1032 on Android 9 lasted security build (i dont remember that) but he was trying to unlock bootloader. There are some tutorials on how to do that, but they all using Android 7 and/or Android 8.1 so he used SP Flash Tool to downgrade to Android 7 and now his phone is bricked. Do you have any idea on how to fix his phone?
---------- Post added at 12:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 PM ----------
Extra information, after flashing his phone using SP Flash Tool, the phone won't turn on, it just keep vibrating, like bootloop. So he formatted whole flash using SP Flash Tool, he thought that he can just format and flash again like with Windows, but now it doesn't even vibrate

use OSTLA (ROM Android 7.1), if it works on the first try, fine.
If the process fails (after flashing the bootloader, according to the application states), try again with sptools (Rom 7.1).
if it doesn't work either, try ROM 8.0 with sptools
I went through a lot of bricks, and managed to fix them trying anyway. Just try until you turn on.
in this same forum, there is the correct way to unlock the bootloader in android 9, since what changes are the commands to use in the ADB

OSTLA doesn't recognize his phone, but I read online that SP Tools only works if the bootloader has been unlocked so...?
