Unable to "Activate" Reactivation Lock - Samsung Gear S3

Hello,
So i'm trying to activate the reactivation lock via gear manager and every time i try, once i enter the Samsung account password, it eventually comes back with a popup as:
Reactivation lock failed. You can try again later by going to find my gear> Reactivation lock.
Samsung account info is verified and correct. Phone has been rebooted. Gear has been reset, rebooted and setup. Tried multiple times. I am using it with a non Samsung phone but i doubt that has anything to do with it. Am i the only one who's having the opposite problem of everyone else. Any search on the web just comes up with folks trying to disable it lol and i can't even activate it.
Any help would be appreciated.

No... you are not an Alien...
I can remember similar problems with Gear S2 and S3 users...
I can only not remember where I have read about it...
Nor solution... I mean the "allowed" way...
Maybe start at the beginning...
RL is ON or OFF in your device?
Btw... which Model name?
SM-R760 or SM-R765S or?
You can check this in ODIN Mode... look at Photo here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73607036&postcount=1
Best Regards
Edit 1.
Oh, I can see:
Gear S3 SM-R765T T-Mobile version (using in Canada)
Click to collapse
So only Question if allready Tizen 3 Firmware or something else?
Maybe type *#1234# to compare if latest Firmware:
Code:
R765TUVU3CQL1/R765TTMB3CQL1/R765TUVU3CQL1
Edit 2.
IMHO RL is joke... Running Gag...
But after I saw this info with SM-R765T... used in Cannada...
Ehm.
SM-R765T is US T-Mobile device... IMHO
Maybe the joke is "country" lock... with your Samsung Account...
Sa.sung do funny things to prevent you can reach same destination from all countries in the world...
I mean MCC MNC crap...
Example...
Samsung prevent me to create US Account... because I am in Germany...
So your problem is IMHO not non Samsung fun Phone... Your Problem could be in Samsung Account crap Security...
Edit 4.
If you use Cannada SIM Card in Phone...
MCC and MNC is sent to Samsung... so they can see your are not in US country where SM-R765T is sold...
Similar crap why not everyone can use Samsun Pay... in all countries where Gear S2 or S3 is sold...

Wow i guess no one else has come across this issue. Interestingly i can't do any backups also. Manual button is grayed out and auto don't work. Wonder if it's related.

I am pretty sure you are not unique with your problem...
I can only not remember where I read about this """phenomenon""" with cripple RL...
Maybe here:
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/bd-p/wearabletech
Also no idea if Gear S2, S3 or maybe Gear Fit2...
Or maybe here on XDA...
As talking about RL is soooo mystique "illigeal".... huhuhhhhuu...
I would simple remove RL...
But in your case it is not simple... as SM-R765T as it seems...
So not all incredients available or free available...
Best Regards
Edit 1.
Search in this Us forum for:
Code:
reactivation lock
Then you can find "similar" RL crap:
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...ivation-lock/m-p/257394/highlight/true#M21271
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...k-and-do-any/m-p/285880/highlight/true#M23534
Harhar... okidoki... This could be you...
Again request...
You are able to check Odin screen... if RL is really OFF... and Warranty Void is still:
0 (0x0000)
Example:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73607036&postcount=1
Are all infos Official or Custom?
Maybe something is wrong... but I have NO Crystal Ball to look or smell your device config...

Maybe you have old Samsung Phone or "Samsung Test Phone" in your family... or maybe friends can help you out...
If you really really "need" RL...
You could try by "elemination round"...
But I am pretty sure... it is your country mix related problem...
http://www.mcc-mnc.com/
Your Gear have MCC MNC for US... + CSC...
Your Phone is with Canada SIM imho... so MCC MNC for Canada
Your Samsung Account is locked for Canada SIM... MCC MNC...
So IMHO this is Security """""""""""""""""""""""""""""feature"""""""""""""""""""""""""" from Samsung...
I have no idea... if buggy ehm ugly ehm Samsung Gear Software do there own funny things...
As there are several funny Versions... with Plug in... blabla...
My first days with my SM-R732... I have used BETA Gear Manager Software on my Tizen SM-Z130H...
So I am pretty sure Gear APK and corresponding additional cr.p checks only RL...
This is not really good secured feature... it creates only funny sideeffects...
Samsung Account require also different Account apps... on Gear and Phone...
And we have on Tizen Z-series enough examples where they creates country specific problems... and fixed them only via Firmware update(s)...
So RL have many many co-working system apps on both... Phone + Gear...
Without trying second Phone... best try with Samsung brand...
It will be hard... hard adventure to find solution...
Good Luck.
Or you will wait for samsung help.

Bypass reactivation lock
Hi
I have found a solution for problem with activation lock. I have instruction woith pictures but in Russian(((
I can translate it to you but for a little money

Another easy solution can be found here:
[Guide] Unlock FRP / Deactivate Reactivation lock, Root and recovery for Samsung

Same problem- can't activate reactivation lock. Pixel 2 android 9 and sm-r765a R765AUCU2CRH1. And can't make a backup in wear, can't download app from the watch. Hard reset didn't helped. Site account.samsung.com no agreement offered to confirm. No RL in download mode

@Duumon
No idea if this is limitation if no Samsung Phone with Samsung App is used...
The other idea I have is to check, if Warranty Void is still untouched... this Knox crap...
In Odin Mode... as example look at this Photo:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73607036&postcount=1
Perfect untouched is:
Code:
WARRANTY VOID : 0 (0x0000)
Only idea... and easy to check.
Best Regards

Perfect untouched is:
Code:
WARRANTY VOID : 0 (0x0000)
I have just like that

Hi, did ypu solve the problem??? I'm having exactly the same problem, in a SM-R765A. Can't download apps from watch and can't activate RL.

Hi guys! I found a solution for Duumon problem, exactly the same problem that i had, as adfree said is a country issue with samsung accounts terms. So the only thing you have to do is to enter to samsung account, and before you log in change country, for example i'm in Argentina, i bought my gear s3 frontier on ebay USA, so i changed to USA and then log in, when you log in you will see new terms and conditions, accept and everything is solved, reactivation lock, installing apps from watch, etc.
Hope it works, it worked for me.

Hi, can you give more details about this procedure please? I'm having the same problem with reactivation lock, not able to make backups but more important I cannot remote connect my watch to the smartphone.
Changing the country, what do you mean? In the samsung account or on the smartphone itself? And after that, should I factory reset the smartwatch? Or is it just solved then...getting desperate, already send the watch for repairs for this issue but it seems a security problem like I always thought...

I solved similar problem...I don't know where are you from, but in my case i logged in to my samsung account in my samsung galaxy S8 and my laptop, then accept terms and conditions, and nothing happened. One day i tried to change the country flag to log in to my samsung account (below right corner), select the USA, logged in with same password and user, new terms and conditions show up, accept and every issue was soleved.
Also try to log in to findmymobile.samsung.com, also another terms and condition to accept, accept and check if you solve the problem.
Hope it helps!

nice to know even with this document leak, only Samsung can unlock the Reactivation Lock.
Not sure what's the point of leaking this. Seems to be from Bell.
ks.license can be calc if you know how its work..
btw i can do if any one want it pm me i do it for free.just send me your ks.req
many people fooling there self with sim unlock and re-activation unlock.
re activation unlock is just for not allow other user phone after wiped or stolen phone to be reused without id.Exactly same like apple icloud activation lock.but samsung is too hurry enough to release skip my super secure re activation document.
So there is still no way to prevent people from using stolen phones?
That is very disappointing, is that true?

Hmm it looks impossible for a customer to do this ... There is an easier way to unlock this security, without flashing or changing the kernel ! it took me 5 mins to unlock my Gnote 3 after i bought it to a guy who didnt disable reactivation lock ..
Maybe resetting the knox counter has a similar method
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
I think there is a kernel binery that can disable the write protection on the bootloader
so that with root access, it is possible to reset the knox
well too bad those file cannot be found until someone in samsung leak it with risk of loss of their job...
(There is diag file for nexus 5, surprisingly useful for CDMA modder but also for other purpose, you know )

Was the device rooted?
No, it was full stock.
Dont know if it will work for every version but i just had to connect it to the network when asked and then before i went to the screen where the phone says it's locked, i connected the earphones and pushed 1 or 2 secs the button on the microphone to open S-voice. I said then "Start settings" and boom the settings menu opened, where "Reactivation Lock" was disabled. I enabled it with my samsung account and then wiped the phone and magic, now i enjoy my Note 3

When u access the menu with s voice after resetting, the option is not checked... u enable it with ur samsung account and it "overwrites" the existing samsung account... tested by me
---------- Post added at 09:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:10 PM ----------
it won't ask u for the old password cuz there is a bug (maybe it has been fixed, i'm on android 4.3 N9005ZHUDMJ9) and the phone just ask you for a samsung account like if u were activating it for the first time
Sorry for my bad english
Hello i tried this but it doesn't work.
Have somebody another solution. Did somebody find the files from samsung to flash the systeme back.
Thanks
Hmmm, rollback prevention, interesting.....
Hmm so you tried the s voice thing with the earphones and it didnt work? Weird ... That's how i got mine working after hours of research

Activation lock bypass - G920V

Hi Gurus.... Hoping someone can help this non-developer. I work for a company who gives its employees Samsung devices. When the person leaves the company I am getting back these G920V devices with the Samsung activation lock or google lock on and no way to access the accounts to turn them off.... got more than a handful of S6's that I can't reuse. All I would like to do is pull off the activation locks and then make sure the phone is updated with the correct Verizon/Samsung software that can get android and Verizon updates (and does not come across as a custom OS)... Have downloaded a few files here and there but I need to know a process that works and I can't figure that part out. I have both 7.0 and 6.0 devices.... Any advise would be appreciated!!
Have the same problem. Bought on ebay, and its appears to be locked with samsung account ;( Seller do not answering ....

[FRP] [Samsung Reactivation] Bypass - Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920V 7.0

FRP Samsung Reactivation Lock
I'm doing this on a Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920V Android 7.0
Hard Reset Phone.
Boot into Android.
Goto emergency dialer and dial 112.
As soon as it starts dialing click bluetooth and pair a headset.
After this go and enable wifi.
Next push the button on your headset and select the bottom left G icon for google.
Now you can access the web / apps etc.
Goto settings by saying "settings" and if it doesn't show then scroll over right to "in apps" (bar below the URL on the browser) and select settings..
Then Settings> Backup and Reset> click Factory Reset and follow through with it. You should end up on a Samsung account entry screen. Put a Samsung account in and then go to Accounts and make sure it is there. Reboot your phone.
When the phone has rebooted go through setup to the end then to Settings> Accounts and remove the Samsung account. You'll notice you get an error saying invalid id or password.
Go to the browser and type in https://www.4shared.com/s/fG7xZS8Rfgm download and install and run. Search for Samsung Account, click and expand it, scroll down to you see the string ending in .EmailUpdatesView and click on it. Click Try it.
Okay now were almost done. It should bring up a screen titled Change Email ID. Look at the bottom of this screen and you will notice a delete account link. Click this, enter your password and remove your account.
Done. Successfully removed.
I haven't yet figured out a way to totally remove it so this is just a temporary bypass. If you reset your phone you will have to do the whole process over again. I will post additional info to completely remove it or new steps once i figure it out.
I don't have a bluetooth headset but, do you think this method would work for my situation? I would buy one if so.

I did this on the Verizon variant. Shouldn't be much different. What i would do is buy a bluetooth headset and give it a try and if it doesn't work you can always take it back. =]
I can remove it completely for a small fee if interested. Different method than above and for sure completely gone when i'm done. Just pm me.

I updated my post. I bought these, and it doesn't work. Does it have to be a bluetooth headset? Or will bluetooth headphones with a mic work? I am on 7.0 now.
Also, I would be willing to pay. How much and what's the process? Do I have to send the phone or is it something you can do over teamviewer or something? Thanks man.

My friend found a Galaxy S6 edge phone somewhere at town hall, he wait about 3 days and nobody call the phone. Phone is locked by fingerprint and password. He did factory reset and locked to Samsung Account Log in. He gave the phone to me about a month ago. Long time I did not play with phone and after reading pages of android forums and articles, i just know about FRP. I have tried nomorous method and nothing success. I can register with google account on set up. Landed on this page and 4 shared link above is not work. Tried to flash what named combination rom to get boot into factory binary. Can not get thru due to blocked by R/L (Reactivation Lock).
I own and used daily S7 flat, happy knowing that not easy to bypass this samsung anti-theft feature. But this also trapped many people who bought used samsung phone and the previous owner did not reset properly and uncontactable LOL

The 4shared link I believe was for "quick shortcut maker" you can google this and find it. This was also not a 100% method of bypassing. I think I did another tutorial somewhere on here explaining the full method. You might try searching my posts for it. I'd link you but I am working and don't have the time to search.

G920P Impressively Resistant FRP, looking for new methods.

Device: G920P
Binary: Samsung Official
Unable to bypass FRP, and I have attempted flashing every stock firmware via every Odin release from 3.10 to the most current update, to include a rather desperate shot in the dark where I checked the nand erased, efs, and bootloader options, all to no avail.
To assuage any misgivings, I am quite well aware of the moral quandaries associated with this sort of issue. As it happens, I share them. This phone was found in a friend's storage locker, among her (admittedly shady) ex-husband's effects. I have checked the IMEI status (clear,) and made repeated attempts to contact the current owner of the phone number I found on the SIM card. Nothing. So, I am at a loss for what to do next.

Sell it on ebay "for parts or repair, wont turn on, good LCD".
P.S. "FRP" means reactivation lock, right? Samsung account? Or Google account?
FRP is an acronym for "Factory Reset Protection," and I've only ever encountered it with Google accounts. Samsung claims to have the ability to bypass it on their support page, but I'm taking this as a challenge.

Ok, then it's simpler.
Google for the "frp via adb" and read, find and flash a combination rom for your device and do the job.
Not a bad challenge. You'll have some fun.
But I've had much more when disabling reactivation lock (Samsung account) on SM-G920V bought on ebay

Can't Change Phone Number on Gear S3

Hi, i recently bought a gear s3 *SMR-765V) from someone and i can't seem to change the phone number on the watch.
i have tried to reset the watch.
i have tried to factory reset the watch by selecting the recovery option after the "rebooting" screen.
and i have tried to reinstall the firmware on the watch using NETODIN.....
nothing works so far, unless somehow i missed some options in the netodin options screen? perhaps reformatting and re partitioning it might help?
but anybody got any suggestions to fixing the problem would be nice.
the watch is a SMR-765V.
and i'm trying to use this outside the USA.

I think the V designates it is Locked to Verizon but since it is an esim I thought you could give the EID to the new carrier and they can generate a code to activate but you may need to have Verizon or pay a 3rd party App or service to Unlock it?
Personally I hate dealing with Esims would rather just have a nano SIM slot in the watch
Sent from my SM-G986U1 using Tapatalk
Same issue. I got one from China sent to the UK and it is a R765V (Verizon) model. It doesn't activate (not surprising) but the watch works.
In about watch the watch phone number displays as +1 000-000-000.
I know there is combination firmware out there that can remove reactivation lock but i've seen nothing regarding removing/resetting the eSim (if it's even possible...only had this watch a day or two so still learning!)
What software version are you on? I'm currently R765VVRU1CSD6 (apparently the latest according to Verizon site)
@adfree kindly posted a link to the firmware if you need it to update to the latest version.
I tried changing the CSC on it too and it only displays VZW so that method is out of the window, i only want the tizen 4.0.0.7 update ?
Even if you manage to unlock the device, as far as i am aware verizon used cdma so it may not work anyway.
Regards,
Matt
