Hello, any ideas, when we will receive Oreo 8.1?
Not sure yet. The only thing out for 8.1 one is the aosp build in the rom section that is slighty buggy and no way of getting the stock camera put on it
I think sony will develop Android "P" for their recent devices, I don't think he'll waste time with oreo

Hi, I'm sorry if I've not found the right thread to answer my question but I've gone through a lot of Googling and not found one source stating exactly when OPO will be getting an official Android L update.
I've been using Liquid Smooth's Android L, but there are issues, and there seems to be at least one issue with all the ROMs. I'd like just one stable ROM of Android L that doesn't have the camera glitches, etc. that I'm used to.
Also, maybe I'm just bad at Googling, but I can't find any information on when OPO has planned to roll out official Android L report. I followed one link, quoting a developer stating that it would come out in Feb, but the link it cited had no such information. Has something happened to OnePlus and CM?
When will OPO get an official Android L?
What is my best bet for a stable Android L mod? I'd like Android L, but I'm considering just going back to the default ROM because of all these issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Nobody knows. Nobody can answer that except for CM and they won't answer requests for ETA's.
I run Vanir-Exodus and it's completely stable, so maybe you just need to do some more testing and find one that suits you.
isnt OxygenOS Offical Android L for OPO

Only in India., end it hasn't even happened yet. CM is the official firmware everywhere else.

Didnt Cyanogen himself said its coming in Feb ? although it makes no sense for them to release 11S update.... maybe this recent update was to shut some people up
Sorry if i'm posting in the wrong place, but i just have to ask something. When Android M will be out, because it has fingerprint support too, will some developers be able to built a stable stock android rom for the GS6? Or is it just a dream?
Thanks!
Because Android M has native support for fingerprint you expect somebody to build stock android rom for the S6? The two things don't correlate AT ALL. And yes, there will be some AOSP roms for sure, based on Android M.

They do correlate at least 1% But yeah, i formulated a bit wrong. We'll wait and we'll see.
Since Android Oreo 8.0 will release in a few days
I just want to know that will the developers create a custom rom based on the new android 8
I have been using my Sony Xperia L for so many years & I have used from 4.2 to 7.1 All of it
and now I'm using the nougat rom its very stable and I like it very much
If custom Oreo is created please give me a reply .Thanks
Whoa, slow down there cowboy.
It's not even out yet - and it usually takes a couple of months for the most popular devices to start getting good ROM builds. The devs can't work that quickly; don't forget that these are not official OEM updates.
The OEMs get the source code earlier, and they have entire teams working on them. Error checking (and fixing) takes a lot less time when you have teams that big. That's why it seems like they release stable builds "right off the bat" - but in reality they've been working on them for a couple of months.
If the developers don't want to do it, they won't. If they want, they will. Don't nag them about this, and don't be ungrateful.

Sorry for being so quick
But I saw a video about Android 8 beta running on a pixel device. And I really liked it
That's the reason that I asked about the ROM
And for making a ROM it's really hard and I know it after reading your reply
I thank all the developers for the amazing work they have done and I'm really grateful.
I'll wait.

Hey men, it's been a while since you asked this, but finally an unofficial Android 8.1 rom has come to light, brought by Corphish
Here is the link for you to look at it

Hi,
I've been using Nexus phones for years, and I'm thinking of buying a phone from the P20 family. I don't really like the version of Android that Huawei ships though, and I'd like to be able to install a stock ROM. I assume that this phone will have Treble support (since it shipped with Oreo) and that, because of that, it should be easy to install a custom ROM on it.
Is all of this correct? Will it be easy to install a custom ROM on these phones, or should I go for a different phone?
I'm also considering buying a P20 Lite tomorrow, how was custom ROMs development on P9 Lite and P10 Lite ?
Judging from the ROM development for the Mate 10 series and as it normally is for Huawei phones, it is not very likely that there will be that many ROMs specifically designed for the P20 phones.
However, installing Treble based ROMs should not be a problem at all. There are several such ROMs available, including AOSP, Lineage, Resurrection Remix, CarbonROM etc. The downsize is that these are often very generic ROMs and Huawei specific features may not be available. For example, third party camera apps often have inferior performance compared to the stock camera app. Sometimes these apps are ported over though.
Thanks for your answer!

So, we can take any Treble based ROM and installed it on any Treble enabled phone, and it will work? Don't specific phones need specific ROMs anymore?

Let's say I install an AOSP ROM and use Google Camera. Should I expect it to take bad pictures, or are you referring to something else when you say inferior performance?
Probably dumb questions, but I've been out of the ROM scene for years.

Yupp, that's pretty much the basic idea. Check out the following thread for more about project Treble.

The thing here is that the stock ROM may nevertheless contain vendor specific code which is not released and may have other proprietary conditions on it. The Google Camera may thus not return the same quality as the stock one. This has at least been the case for Huawei phones, although the stock camera app has been ported over (see the thread above).
I just unlocked the boot loader on my P20 Lite, now waiting patiently for a custom recovery
Custom ROMs are not very likely in Huawei devices
Hi all
Also been using Nexus for quite some time now, and bought a Huawei P20 lady week.
1. The camera is great
2. EMUI is not my cup of tea
My goal the coming weeks is to try to understand if it's likely to see a Treble ROM and if the camera app from EMUI/P20 can be ported.
Tldr; I want to keep the camera functionality but use stock android 8.x
Anyone find anything, please post
Peace ✌?

The camera app should be possible to port. It has been done in the past for both Kirin 960 and 970. Check this out for reference. In that thread the camera is based on the one from Mate 9 but in theory a newer one should be possible.
Hello guys,
I tried out different Android Pie ROMs, like Pixel Experience Pie and the Kirin-GSI AOSP Android Pie, but in the first OS, the camera didn't work and in the second ROM, the device overheated like hell and tethering didn't work. So, I'm looking for a Pie ROM because this is the whole reason why I unlocked the bootloader in the first place. I'm waiting the recommendations here.
Hello
I can't answer your question but you posted in the wrong section. Please ask your questions here. Good luck finding a good pie
