Hi all,
I've just got given a Chinese Hisense phone. I'd like to root the phone and install a custom ROM. Problem is, I can't find too much info on this device. On the package, it shows as a "Hisense F25M".
Navigating through the device, it shows as Model Number HLTE100M.
Hopefully someone on here can direct me to the right rooting and ROM instructions.
Many thanks,
Arj
That phone is for a Chinese market, there are couple of variations with the same name and different specs (mainly RAM). To my knowledge, there are no English custom roms available.
For root, you can try the generic root tools like Kingroot.

Hi
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S through Optus here in Australia. Like many others, the phone is running frustratingly slow. After reading many articles on this, I have decided to root the phone, then run the one click lag fix. Rooting will also allow me to use Titanium Backup which I am keen to do.
I am very new to all this phone stuff and so far, every rooting method I have tried has failed to work (2 methods involving downloading an update.zip, one automatic method through a PC). I think this may be because my Australian phone is slightly different to the galaxy's that the root guides were created for.
My phone specs are:
Build number: Froyo.DTJP5
Baseband version: I9000DTJP3
Firmware version: 2.2
I'd greatly appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction for applying root to this phone. Or if anyone thinks there is a better option for speeding the phone up, please let me know.
you can either apply a one click lag fix (available in the market) or follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728754
Hi, folks.
I do apologise if this is the wrong place for this - so many forums to choose from!
Earlier today I bought a ZTE (Telstra) T28 phone to replace a damaged Samsung Galaxy Ace, as they have pretty much the same features.
What I forgot, though, is that I had rooted the Ace, and installed a custom ROM. So despite the same features, I'm a bit uncomfortable with the T28.
I did notice that its features are similar to the ZTE Blade. This is probably a long shot, but does anyone have any information on whether I may be able to root it using the same method and files? Or at least if it is possibly to ATTEMPT the rooting method, with a means to identify if it isn't going to work/back out without waiting for the phone to be bricked?
I did install Ask Mr. Pigfish and it suggested I was using a Gen2 Blade, but I suspect that it was simply identifying that it was using the same Android version. (Kernel? Am I using the term right?)
If it helps, when using the usual Android "Check for updates" option in the menu, it tells me I can copy an update image to the SD card, and can update from that menu.
I'm quite happy with the phone; I'm primarily wanting to root and update not for update's sake, but to remove the pre-installed apps. The device is exclusive to the Australian Telstra provider, but I am not a Telstra customer. I am using a different provider that resells the network, so the installed Telstra apps do not work for me and take up a lot of the device's tiny space.
Cheers and thanks in advance for what I'm sure will be a lot of useful info!
Hi and sorry for the grave digging but I really need some info about rooting the T28. I'm completely new to rooting and would love to find a one-click-root or something but no such luck. Has anyone rooted this phone successfully? I'm stuck with this one so hoping for a positive answer
Hello dear friends,
I just recently purchased a Lenovo A830 due to it being a budget phone but now I am starting to regret it.
It came rooted I checked through (Root Checker) app, but it's mostly in chinese even after changing the language.
So I came across this custom rom recently and I am really interested to install it so I can get rid of the current stock rom.
Unfortunately I need to have clock world mod recovery installed, So I have been trying to install it through Flash tools v3.1304.0.119 -- it wouldn't detect even after installing the proper usb drivers which are ( MTK6589 Drivers ).
It did detect once and it went to a 100% in red and said something about checking the logs and that it wouldn't work cannot be specific about this because it's not doing that anymore it's just not detecting.
Can someone please try to help me and guide me to install or tell me what to do to install CWM on my lenovo A830, It would be much appreciated.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks.
Hey ya'll , I have not been here since the days of my Samsung galaxy Tab 1 and 2 so it's been quite a while however after perusing thru something else way over on the other side of this thing they call the internet I saw a tidbit about flashing ATOTO's , so I was curious since I have a shop here in Ontario and we sell and install Android Radios. ATOTO and JMANCE being a couple of our top sellers. Simply because they Carry AM radio which many android radios don't. Now here is my question?
What is the purpose of this Flash and Root and what can it do for me or what extra could it potentially offer a customer for me ? Please explain ? I'm sorry but I was reading thru the posts and I could not find out exactly what can be done or changed when doing this ... like what I'd like to know is ? Are we giving it more features ? Or ? Better apps or ? Sorry im just not following here ? In layman's terms .. I'd be very happy to get a good answer here ? Thanks in advance

In simplified terms:
1.
Flashing is the process to reinstall Android OS on the phone. Flashing a Custom ROM requires a Custom Recovery gets installed before, requires device's bootloader gets unlocked.
2.
Rooting is the process to add to Android system an user who has elevated rights: the SUPERUSER ( AKA root ). The so-called SUPERUSER can modify the Android OS in any ways.
Please do move this to the correct thread, as I am new here.
So, as I stated in the title, I need help rooting this phone. I am familiar with rooting, flashing and all of that. But there is a huge problem with this phone, as I am unable to find the stock rom of it anywhere on the internet. There are no guides, either. It's like this phone doesn't even exist.
Another thing is, that this phone was modified in my country to be called "A1 Alpha 20", it's the basic version, not the Plus one. I'm pretty sure there are guides for the Plus one... But the name/model is Alcatel 3L (2020) 5029Y. The phones are the same, I'm pretty sure the Alcatel 3L rom would work fine on it, too. They have the same specs as well.
It's a pretty solid phone, with good specs, not sure why nobody is talking about it. Even my older phone, Samsung J5, has a ton of guides, and of course, I installed TWRP on it and rooted it a year ago. It's working good, even to this day.
So, I'm asking for your help here, I need tips on how to root this phone. I want to know if it's possible pulling the stock firmware out of it, or just rooting it without TWRP? I can't find TWRP for it either, I'm afraid there is nothing I will be able to do for now. I have access to ADB tools and a PC, if I can maybe do something with these. I enabled OEM unlocking without having to format which means that my bootloader was unlocked? If so, could that make pulling stock images easier???
Please help me out. Thank you. For any additional information (model, build number, all info that I can pull out using applications and such) just let me know and I will tell you.
To add root functionality to Android all you have to do is to replace existing ( restricted ) Toybox binary by an unrestricted version, like Toybox 0.8.5.
