Does anyone have a list of XDA developers participating in the Honor/XDA partnership? I would love to know that the project has been taken up. It's a huge deal to see another OEM have development.
I don't think there is any yet.
There is a slow way to do this:
1. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/Honor , this link will display all Honor devices fourms
2. Check one by one in ROM section to find out...
But this will not include those without a dedicated forum, like Honor 4x.

I‘m a fans of Huawei, my first smart phone is Huawei G510, at that time I don't have to much money. And now I'm using Honor 6, and I think some days later, I wil buy Honor 8 or P9.

Honor 8 is a decent phone, actually all HUAWEI 2015 and later phones are good ones. But the only issue now with HUAWEI is its own Kirin processer which has no open source/proper documentation. This closes doors to most developers and cut users from future upgrades if HUAWEI ceases to provde system update.

The new Honor + XDA partnership is exactly to address that limitation that other brands have - So developers can have full support to create ROMs

check lock screen settings if there so yes .
Yes
Google Virtual Reality Daydream not Screen saver also used to be known as Daydream before
Daydream VR
Is it Daydream VR compatible after 7.0 (EMUI 5) update or not? Is Kirin 950 processor compatible for the thermal performance required for Daydream?
I don't think the Honor 8 is daydream compatible yet. At the moment only Pixel devices are compatible with the use with daybream. Maybe the Honor 8 will be supported later on.

I am interested in the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4.
Can any current owners provide some feedback?
I have the 10,8 version, a hell of a tablet, love it.

I have the 8.4 version. Seriously, the best tablet I've ever owned. Absolutely love it and use it extensively every day.
Thanks guys!!! Now I am hoping I could find a good deal on one.
I've got the 8.4 LTE, it's a great little tablet. But. 18 months since it was launched means that it's not getting any further OS updates. There'll be a couple of security patches, but no update to emui/android 10.
Short: Dont buy it.
Why? In many news you can find a Huawei EMUI 10 Roadmap where the Mediapad is always missing. I asked the German Huawei Support regarding an Update for the Mediapad M5 and they confirmed that there won't be a EMUI 10 for the Mediapad M5. Okay, its just the German Support and you newer know how much those guys really know, but it was strange that this device was basically never mentioned in any of the EMUI 10 news. So if you really are willing to buy a Mediapad M5, keep this in mind, since even without EMUI 10 its questionable how long Huawei will atleast provide Security Updates for EMUI 9.1.

FYI If you purchase a US version you will be stuck on EMUI 8.
Huawei delists the Mate 20 X and Mate 20 Pro from its security update schedule
Embattled smartphone makers Huawei has now removed the Mate 20 series from its security update schedule, in a move that mirrors what happened with the Mate 10 series a year ago. The phones include the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS, and Mate 20 X.

ouch... thats harsh, i would have at least expected one more year of security updates only, without major android updates. harsh especially since EMUI 11 isnt even out of Beta status yet...
edit: hold on a sec, we're still gonna get updates, just not regular ones anymore!
quote - "If the Mate 10 series is any indication, this doesn't mean that Huawei will stop sending updates to the phones entirely. They'll likely still receive patches; regularly for some time, then slowly afterwards—over the course of this year, at least."
ok, this i can live with, way more smooth than just going cold turkey
The Mate 20 X is getting Android 11 & EMUI 11 from what I have read.

Ahh right. I didn't know that.
I'm still on EMUI 10.
So do we think the Mate 20 X will ever get anymore updates after the EMUI 11 update?
Major updates no. So no EMUI 12 or whatever it will be called.
However, Security updates will still come most likely.
Man don't u read news ??? 50 series , 40 series 30 series and 20 series gonna have Harmony OS ...
Why u even missing some ''fake'' security updates'' ??? they don't do anything just overwrites the date that they will keep you happy ... don't be pathetic
will sth like harmony OS get into beta for this Device?

im skeptical to switch over from an largely open source (AOSP Android) to a completely proprietary OS fully designed by Huawei... not seeing any benefits, but i agree insofar that having more choices is usually better

Hi fellows,
Since the seperated from Huawei, Honor Watch Magic 2 didn't get any update. As I know Huawei Watch GT2s got updates around 10 times but Honor did not, and I am not happy for this situation.
As you know, these smartwatches are almost completely same and I was wondering, can I change my Honor smartwatch's rom to Huawei GT2's rom.
Is it possible?
Thanks.
Would be interesting to know. Any news about this?
It will be very nice if we can install the huawei watch gt 2 rom on honor magic watch 2 and benefit from the updates. All the features of the devices are the same anyway.
Same here, I have a HMW2 and I would like to get the updates. It's not fair to abandone the support for the devices. We should still get support for the device because when it got to the market Honor was still part of Huawei
It would be nice to do it, but for now the bootloader is locked i think.
I hope huawei will solve it.
Hi, have you guys any solution for this? HMW hadn't had any update for such a long time I don't believe it will get any in the future.
Up !
yeah...really regretting not adding those 10bucks extra to get the GT2. will not buy anything from Honor from now on.
no idea if it possible, but have you guys found out a way to move to GT2 firmware?
