S7 not booting - recovery not working - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

My Galaxy was stuck in a boot loop, would load up O/S then when I get to the Android part of my O/S it would freeze on PIN code entry then constantly fail on reboot. I'd have to let the battery flatten before I tried again. I figured I couldn't get anywhere so I'd replace the factory rom. Recovery mode is intermittently working, either it works first time or gets stuck in a boot loop again.
For reference I used the following file to replace the stock ROM in ODIN (I didn't choose re-partition)
AP_G930FXXU1DQAN_CL10305131_QB12238018_REV00_user_low_ship_meta.tar
The phone is completely stock by the way. No root. Has USB debugging enabled
Samsung S7 (Unlocked to all networks, I'm on the GiffGaff network if it matters)
UK Network
SM-G930F is the code on the back of the phone
Currently I can do following since replacing the stock ROM with the rom listed above
- Access recovery mode using the key presses - but gives "No Command". I can't get back through button presses
> I've tried VolUp/VolDown, Power - VolUp - VolDown, Power - Volup, Home, Power - VolUp/Down - Home pretty much all combinations
- I can access Download mode without an issue (Which leads me to believe phone is possible fixable)
Have I completely knackered the phone flashing with the wrong ROM? Or am I missing something?
I'm trying to avoid replacing the bootloader at the moment because I've read it wipes the data, and it's the data I'm trying to get off the phone as it's important. After this I couldn't care less about flashing the phone
Any suggestions please. Help would be greatly appreciated. Or is the phone already FUBAR?

Confirm the model in download mode. Then flash the latest ROM from sammobile.com.

How do I confirm the model in dl mode via Odin or is it written as anothrn name

Download mode just matches the model number on the back of my phone
PRODUC NAME : SM-G930F
Did I use the right rom? It's listed in my first post, or which one is the right one to use?

Thanks . I'll try that . I can't flash boot loader arm because I'm trying to get access to the files on the e phone first. After that I can do a factory reset
If that fails I'll try a jig maybe that will work

I think it's a bit late, but if you flash with CSC and not the HOME_CSC, you will lose your Data.

4th day on bootloop. Use 2 min and help me!

So it's my 4th day on bootloop and i still can't figure out how to turn my phone on again.
I know how to push files to TWRP. I have Odin ready. I have 2-3 different stock ROM available.
Flashing stock rom doesn't help - even if i put Nand erase all.
Kies or Smart Switch doesn't help me neither.
Tell me what to do - please.
Bootloader, modem, rom, kernel, put files to TWRP or?
Just 2 minute of your time would be greatly appreciated. Please!
Boot into TWRP and go to Wipe, then Advanced Wipe. Check off data, cache, and internal storage, then swipe to do the wipe. Once complete, power off the phone.
Next, boot into Download Mode and flash your latest local stock firmware via Odin. Once the flash is complete, the phone will restart on its own.
The above steps put you at a clean slate. If it's still bootlooping at this point, it's most likely a hardware issue and the phone will need to be replaced.

i bought it brand new in a sealed box off kijiji. i have the box but i dont know where the guy bought it from. i need the reciept to replace it. other than that, i can use warranty to get the phone repaired. i already sent it in and they changed teh battery but that didnt work. is there any way i can find out where the person bought the phone? the person is not replying to my text or calls
So Samsung sent it back to you and it was still bootlooping when you got it back? That's bizarre. I'd send it in again and attach a note.

It's not that easy to replace the phone when i have tripped my knox which means my warranty is off. That is the problem.

I know, but there isn't anything else that can be done.
It sucks, but it happens. I've had phones die and I had no choice but to go out and buy a new one. It's the risk we take when tripping Knox.
Why don't you provide us with more details...:/ For example which model phone you have (920F/I/T/V/A/etc.) Bootloop means you soft bricked it afaik.
In this case use ODIN 3.10.7 and take a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/project-zero-pac-firmware-pit-file-t3181133
1. Put phone in download mode + open odin ( = the phone is detected aye?)
2. Extract the FAC firmware you downloaded (if i am right it's 1 .tar file and if there are multiple you put modem in CP, bootloader in BL and phone in AP)
3. in AP put the right FAC firmware from the thread mentioned above, if its just 1 .tar file (use G920FXXU2BOG8_G920FOXX2BOG9_XEO_PAC.zip if you have the 920F)
4. In the tab "pit" select the pit file you downloaded for your device; e.g. 920F = G920F_EUR_OPEN_HIDDEN150M.pit
5. Start odin and let it succesfully finish
6. let phone reboot.. it will be on the samsung logo for maybe 10 min?

This is the message i get from Smart Switch when trying to flash stock android from the program.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Bootloop/Recovery Mode

Model: SM-G930T (T-Mobile USA)
So today, I had an app not responding. I tried restarting my phone only to get stuck in a bootloop. My Recovery Mode isn't able to boot, but I can still access Download Mode. I tried to install the stock rom for my device to get the error with
"SW rev check failed FUSED 3 > BINARY 2"
"EMMC WRITE FAILED"
I'm thinking of trying to install the stock recovery, but apparently, I have to reinstall the stock rom, which I already did.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.

You should just put your phone in download mode and then run the samsung program, it will do everything else
volume down + power + middle button to go to download mode.

Whew, it's currently downloading applications for it. Thank you so much! I attempted to use a TWRP custom recovery for the T-Mobile USA version, but it looks like that was what blocked me out the recovery mode. Do you know of any custom recovery available for this?

Im not big on the phone extras (i have TWRP but not a big expert on it)..
basically this will factory reset your phone and make it working again, its up to you if you want to flash it again with ODIN and get TWRP on there.
I have a ton of issues after rooting my s7 exynos that I dont even do it anymore or remove bloatware. Something is clearly up with my device but im happy with the phone working, its ok if its a bit slower than it should be - for me.

Hi mate
You said past recovery screen in recovery mode?
What firmware you flashed with odin , which files ?
If you can get into download mode there is hope still... can you? , go to recovery factory reset see if you can boot now , if not flash again firmware with odin , to avoid losing data use your home_csc file if that does not work flash again this time using CSC and checking re partition option in Odin
The phone orginally was stuck in a boot loop so I downloaded what I thought was a working Rom to fix it. Apparently something went wrong because now all I can do is get to hard reset recovery screen. I can wipe cache and format and all but it does not do anything.
I tried to plug the phone onto my computer and nothing happens now where as before it would recognize as a s7 and would recognize in Odin.

Yea OP, as above, getting into DL mode sometimes takes a few attempts, keep Volume Down & Home & Power pressed until the phone reboots twice, after the second reboot keep them pressed and see if it boots into download mode
AFAIK with the demo units you need to flash the G930F firmware to them to unlock
But still no modem or fingerprint reader even after that iirc
But I can't used my pc to flash anymore. It does not show a device connected like if I plug in my s8.
The picture shows where I am stuck
Ok I got past that screen in dl Mode and found the right firmware or so I believe. Odin freezes when trying to add AP file. Without it my phone stays on the load screen. Help!

You can't use any of the CF auto-root files if you're bootloader is locked. If you are using the US model S7, you can't unlock the bootloader. You'll have to flash back to stock firmware. Download mode = Volume down + home + power. Hold all three down, in that order, until you see the 'custom OS screen' then press volume up. Even if you brick using CF root files, download mode should still work. I have a G930U I tried to flash with CF (a few times before I figured out the bootloader was locked) and I have been able to get to download mode no matter what I flashed, so far.

Hi,
I have a S7 930U that had FRP, I used combination firmware to enable developers mode on, then flashed with several firmware that I found online for 930U, but the phone will boot fully, then reboot within 20 seconds. the vicious boot cycle continues no matter what firmware I put in. I'm thinking I still haven't found the correct firmware for my phone, which is causing the boot loop? Please advise what I should do.
I'm trying to flash again with combination firmware so I can collect all the CSC and related details so I can search for the correct firmware in SamFirm. Please advise.
Thanks.

I thought I found the right firmware with the region code XAA and phone model SM-G930U using SamFirm. Flashed it, booted and it seemed like it was working, but the cycle started again!!! I don't understand why the phone would just reboot when it's being setup. shows setting up android, this may take 3 or 4 minutes, then just shuts off and powers back up.
on the back of the phone, it has this G930UZKAX. Is the region code embedded in that string? if it is, I can't figure out what region code this phone is! Can someone please help me obtain the PDA, CSC and region for this damn phone? I'm about to smash it on the wall.

Please Help I broke my phone

Hi XDA forum,
So yesterday I tried to root my phone and disaster struck. Now the phone is stuck in a bootloop where it turns on and off and on again indefinitely. I can still boot to recovery mode however. I tried to use factory reset and then reboot but I run into the same problem.
I figured that I would need to put the stock Firmware back on, and went and downloaded this: [I cant post links yet but it was the SM-G930V from sammobile .com] Because Etched on the back of my phone is Samsung SM-G930V
However, when I try to download that using Odin (Prince Comsy Version) it fails and I get a message on my phone "unsupport dev_type"
That is definitely the model type that is etched on the back of my phone.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong/how I can get my phone to work again?
I would REALLY appreciate any help.
EDIT: this is my first post here, if it is in the wrong place please let me know.
What model does your phone say it is in download mode? It's the end all source of truth.
The firmware you're flashing, is it the latest? The G930V can't flash back to older versions, so you either have to be flashing the same version or newer from sammobile

Thanks so much for the reply!
I was trying the latest version yes. Where exactly will the phone say what model it is in download mode? I haven't seen that anywhere and that might be the issue.
Download mode should be a blue screen with text and an arrow in the background, the phone info including model will be in the top left like https://imgur.com/lvqQmws
It should be in download mode if you're trying to flash anything.
If you're in recovery you're in the wrong place (iirc they use the same button combo, but recovery is volume up, while download mode is volume down)
