Don't know which is the firmware number/version - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I just got my phone about a month ago, it's currently running in Android 6.0. I'm trying to update my OS through Odin but I don't know which firmware is the correct one. I don't know which of the figures I see in settings is my firmware.
Do I download any PDA for S7? Is the baseband version I see under software info my firmware? Or is it the build number?
I'm so lost. Please help me out, guys.
My phone model number is SM-G930F
Baseband Version: G930FXXU1APDA

Since the G930F is international the firmware is pretty much the same other than carrier changes.
If you go to updato.com or sammobile.com and enter in the model (SM-G930F) and filter by your country and carrier, you'll have all the firmware for your device by release date. But if you really wanted to you could use another country and carrier without issue.
They should also have flash guides for Odin on the site.

Download app called Phone Info *Samsung* and give us screenshots from Software card. We will know for sure.

For some weird reasons, I can't upload the screenshot.
But here's what I see.
Firmware and Active CSC code are both XSG
CSC Country is Korea. There are no product CSC and original CSC infos available.
Under firmware tab:
Bootloader version is G930LKLU1APDA
PDA Version is G930FXXU1APDA
CSC Version is G930LLUC1APDA
Baseband version is G930LKLU1DPLP
If there's any other info you'd like me to add, please let me know. Thanks, by the way.

Oh! so basically I can download any PDA I see for G930F and they wouldn't be any issue but there would only be an issue when I download G930V or G930A for my phone, right? Am I correct?

This is all mixed up. You cannot determine what what it is.
Best thing to do now, is to go to download mode and see what model is displayed there.

Still the same thing as I listed up there.

Tell us exactly what it says in download mode. Not much to type.

Pretty much, it's still best to flash for your country / carrier as things like VoLTE, OTA updates, and carrier bands vary in firmware versions.

yes but in odin mode show sph-720t not gt-i9505
-
ok your firmware is sprint, what Odin showing is the correct one, search for cwm for sph-720t.
DO NOT FLASH ROM VIA ODIN, flash new cwm or twrp recovery, then flash new rom through recovery. your firmware is most likely sph-720t which is sprint

Looking for CORRECT Xfinity Mobile Samsung S8+ Firmware (CCT)

Hello everyone,
I am looking for the stock files for Xfinity Mobile. I can't seem to find them anywhere. I'm assuming because they are a new company no one has them really posted. The Only files I see are "no boatware" versions, but I actually need the true "xfinity" Version. Of course I have check Sam's and other sites, but they all have the incorrect information. By any chance can someone send me the correct firmware? (pulled Directly from your own device)
Thanks for any help

Using the SM-G955U model number and the CCT CSC gives the following results:
G955USQU1AQEH/G955UOYN1AQEH/G955USQU1AQEH/G955USQU1AQEH
So there is a firmware available, use SamFirm to download it and flash using Odin.

Download SamFirm.
Enter SM-G955U model number and 'CCT' as the CSC, it'll take a few seconds to check and then present you with the firmware details and the download button. It'll save somewhere on your PC, extract it, follow the guide I linked above and you can have the CCT firmware on your phone.
The fw.updato.com site has it, but it's being glitchy right now, so it isn't giving me a direct link. Use SamFirm anyway, it's faster and its much easier to find the latest firmware.

Cheers.
I have a SM-G950U1 and I am trying to get a new XFinity Sim card to work (it does not connect to data right now). I tried using ODIN to install new firmware but that did not help. I just noticed, however, that the firmware for the SM-G950U model allows you to select the provider, but the SM-G950U1 firmware does not. Could this be a problem? I can't find firmware for SM-G950U1 for Comcast. Should I try installing the firmware for the incorrect model ( SM-G950U) so I can specify the carrier?

change baseband version on at&T galaxy s7

My At&T s7 currently has this baseband g930aucubctb1. I previously had a s7 edge and was able to flash phone with a g935u baseband. It unbranded phone, it enabled wifi calling, caller id that is native to t mobile, I think so anyway. can I do that with my current s7?

Use Sam Firm Tool attached .
unzip and run application as admin
Model - SM-G930U
Region - XAA
Hit check update then download.
SamFirm Tool pulls firmware straight from Samsung servers much faster than free downloads.
It will decrypt once downloaded and your left with a zip file.
Unzip and place the 4 files in Odin to flash the G930U firmware. Code XAA is unbranded USA.
Use CSC for a new phone completely wiped or CSC_HOME to keep your files and settings.

It looks like you are trying to downgrade your firmware from TB1 to TA3 in the unbranded. You can't go down, only up. I think you need a G930UUESBCTB1 or newer in order to be successful in Odin.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I used samfirm and 930u only has the firmware G930UUESBCTA3 my current firmware 930aucubctb1.
So I assume that my current firmware is a newer build than the 930u.
So without a later version of the u software and I don't think I can downgrade my current 930a.
I am out of luck until the u gets an upgraded firmware version,
Am I missing something?

Question Change Service Provider Software

Hi all,
I bought this phone from my friend who was using it on ATT. It is global unlocked phone and I activate and register, change new 5gsim and no problem on Verizon Network.
It is working and fine but, it shows ATT logo when phone is boot up and still it has ATT bloatware.
Under the Software information > Service provider software version is showing below
SAOMC_SM-F711U_OYN_ATT_RR_0016
ATT/ATT/ATT
SO THIS PHONE IS legit!! even Verizon told us. They did everything with me for 3 hours. wow!
Anyway, I think it's the problem of other carrier's software is in
Do you guys know how to change provider software to Verizon? should I contact Samsung??
Please help me.
Thank you!!!!!!!!

@iHeartslutsz https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-z-flip-3/firmware/#SM-F711U1
Whenever I flash a new software through Odin after downloading it from Sammobile, the Dark Side RC theme (I think it's related somehow to the so called Star Wars special edition) for samsung, comes as one of two default themes into the system and can not be removed. Hence, even I change the theme from setting, this iron head appears everytime I restart the phone for a few seconds. So I tried different firmwares for my country but nothing changes. So someone from another forum said that my service provider software version differs than theirs. So in short, how to get rid of this silly iron head? Any help would be appreciated.
change csc, use SamKEY (paid) or SamFwFRPTool (free), then flash frimware you need with odin with CSC file (this will wipe your phone and reset to factory), not use home_csc in odin

Thank you. I downloaded totally different firmware files with different CSC code and the problem has solved.
SamFwFRPTool is a tool I use to change my CSC software channel. The way I understand it you need to change the CSC in the program before flashing the u1 software on it so you get a full unlock as opposed to a partial one.
I might be wrong here though so don't take everything I say as being true.

Question I have a Verizon locked S22 Ultra which Verizon unlocked but I cannot boot unlocked firmware.

Purchased Verizon locked S22 Ultra from Samsung
Switched to T-Mobile 3 months later.
Verizon said they "unlocked" it and I'm able to use the T-Mobile SIM.
What I want to get rid of is the Verizon boot logo and the pre-installed Verizon apps. Basically I want unlocked firmware.
I downloaded SM-S908U1 XAA and Odin will not load it (I'm using latest ODIN patched). I tried every single thing.
I ended up loading SM-S908U TMB, it flashed, but it's still on Verizon!
Is this hopeless at this point? Am I doing something wrong? Am I downloading the wrong firmware?

ah ok ive never heard of that before, but i was out the game a while.......
maybe try an "UNKNOWN" version, but be warned, it may not be optimised to run on your specific network, so speeds "may" be lower

If Odin is failing it's your version of Odin is not correct
I had this problem in the past with other Samsung phones, so I only buy from Samsung.. I could never get around it. Maybe there’s a hexadecimal editor if you’re feeling brave… but can you even get root with a carrier device?
