So I had a P9000 that got the screen smashed.
I liked the phone, it was stuck on the 6.0 with the OTA issue, but everything worked fine for me... so I went ahead and bought a new P9000 (which should be faster than getting the part and repair the older one... which I planned to do anyway and keep it as a spare in case of another accident).
It arrived with a 6.0 installed as well, and everything seemed to work fine.
While setting up the phone, installing stuff etc... it got automatically updated to 7.0
THE ISSUES:
I can barely hear anything when people call me. I've read is a pretty common issue.
I've tried every possible solution I could find online... nothing works.
The only option is to put the call on speaker... which is not so handy for EVERY call EVERYWHERE.
-
I just went on a trip and realized data roaming is not working either.
I get phone signal, data and roaming options are both active (I tried both cards), checked the APN with the providers... all options again. No way to get it to work.
As soon as I landed back it worked without issues.
With the other phone/ROM I never had issues.
SOLUTION?
I've read some time ago that rooting 7.0 on P9000 is kind of risky or doesn't work altogether.
Is this still true?
Do you recommend any specific instructions to do it? (I've rooted and installed ROM's in other phones, so not newbie but no expert either).
Which ROM would you recommend as of today?
I keep the phone pretty app-light, I use for work only... so these issues are really bad for me. And the Elephone customer care has been a total deal breaker.
I won't be buying from them anymore that's for sure, but I'd like to don't burn cash either and get some use out of the phone.
Thanks in advance

Last friday I got a touch pro to replace a broken titan.
After I got it the data connection seemed flakey (it downloaded weather but I couldnt get the web). I called Sprint and they said I needed to call back on a different line. Before I could do so the data connection started working fine.
Shortly after I unlocked the phone via SD, and flashed to Juicy's 6 rom via SD. (I have previously flashed my 6700 and 6800)
The flash worked fine but at some point my data connection stopped working. I cant say for sure if it was before the flash or after.
I spent the last 3-4 days messing around with it, with tech support and by myself. After flashing back to stock and relocking it, I brought it into a Sprint store and they couldnt fix it either.
Sprint gave me another Touch Pro and everything is working fine, but I really like the rhodium calendar! but I am hesitant to try flashing it again.
So my question is: Did flashing mess up my original TP? So I have any concerns flashing it? Like I said I have flashed my 6700 and 6800 a bunch of times and never had a data connection problem.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I've flashed many times and never had any problems with data.
Did you hard reset after flashing to the ROM?
Or it could just be the ROM. Was it for Sprint?
yip Derek is right, had many flashes and never had data problems.... thats just your service provider
btw, and this is a general suggestion.. for every device you'll ever have. if there's a problem with a specific ROM, it's 99.9% certain that someone had stumbled into the problem you experienced before. you should always go to the ROM's thread and either search it or ask people if they've experienced the same problem - if they did, it's probably the ROM, if not, it's probably your device. the cooks in xda-devs are usually HIGHLY aware of how things work and they receive tons of feedback.. which works well for everyone.
Wise words
Just bought the Thunderbolt today to replace my aging (but much loved,) OG Droid. The guy at Verizon insisted on turning it on and syncing my contacts before I could leave - I didn't think much of it and pocketed the phone on my way out the door. When I took it out of my pocket at home it was rebooting itself and I was worried I'd need to take it back but then I noticed it was updating Verizon's software as well as the firmware, apparently. I'm now running 1.13.605.7 - which by all accounts seems to be unrootable. From my googling I've deduced I can't seem to rollback any firmwawre upgrades without being rooted which also seems to be impossible at this point.
Am I correct in assuming this?
(Apologies if this has been posted, I tried to find it for a good half hour beforehand.)

I see no reason that firmware isn't rootable via my tutorial.
I'll seek it out then, thanks.
Let us know what happens! Good luck to you!
Hello all, I have a couple questions about the WP7.8 Sianto Edition for the HTC Arrive. I have the Sprint Arrive and am considering putting this rom on my phone. First I would like to know if anyone knows what kind of unlock it has, if any. Also, does the USB Tethering work in the 1.6 for the Arrive? I see it listed for the 1.6.1 for the 7 Pro..
And does anyone have any input on how reliable this rom is? I am looking for forward to the 2.0L that is said to be coming soon. As of late my phone has gotten so slow and my data connection speed is terrible lately. It seems every week it gets worse and I am having many apps just crash to the home screen and apps that rely on the data like radio apps just take forever to even open now. My wife has this same phone on the same network and hers is not having any of these issues.
Thanks for your replies.
Anyone know? Planning to download the rom tomorrow but want to know about the unlock first. I have yet to HSPL my phone but will when I have all my questions sorted out.
Hi mate!
Concerning the slow speeds, if you upgraded your phones memory by swapping the sd card, the two can be related (for example, my youtube videos are very sluggish while streaming). I Have an international 7 pro (no carrier branding) and it's been 10 months since my last hard reset (when I upgraded the memory from 8 to 32 gigs) and i am also experiencing very slow load times, but I don't know about the apps crashing. Data loading is also a bit slow on my side (on some apps while refreshing) but internet explorer just works fine.
But I remember the phone working just fine right after the memory upgrade, so my guess is that constantly adding and erasing apps and files like videos, music and pictures are kind of messing up the responsiveness of the system.
PS: Sorry for my response not being specific enough to your case. I didn't want to reply at first but since the 7 pro forums aren't much populated lately, I thought that my idea on the subject could help.

For one, yes, the Sianto ROM IS unlocked.
And for another, the first time I loaded the Sianto ROM on my phone, it was at v1.4, I believe. After going through the steps, my phone was it's fastest ever, and I loved my phone even more than when I had first gotten it. Things were great for about a week, until tragedy struck: an app I installed from the Bazaar marketplace while at school basically bricked my phone. So, I borrowed a friends phone, let people know I would be incommunicado, and waited out the day. When I got home, I immediately came here to XDA, and tried to remember which ROM I had loaded, but wasn't able to get the same computer I had originally used. I remembered Sianto's name, but then saw ansar's ROM, and decided to try that one.
Long story fairly short: I switched back to Sianto after about a day, and haven't looked back since.
I don't know about USB tethering, but the internet sharing works in v1.6, and I especially like that Digital Power was added to the Settings. Every time I flashed my phone before, I had to reinstall Digital Power, but not with this version!
All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend Sianto v1.6, and I know that when v2.0L comes out, I'm definitely going to flash it.
Hope I helped.

Thanks for your reply! That's exactly the response I was looking for! Glad to know that it is unlocked and that you got a performance boost out of it. I get internet hooked up on Monday so I will be downloading and flashing around then!
Thanks again

No problem, hope everything goes well. Let us know how it turns out! :good:
Okay, so first of all, yes, I am completely new to this. However I'm no idiot, I'm just more on the hardware side of computing. Anyways, I've searched the internet for well over twelve hours now trying to get a custom ROM (that I found here, Android Revolution HD 6.0) onto my Galaxy Note 2 (SCH-950). I live in the US and I have the 4G LTE version, N7105 I think... and I'm getting nowhere. I've downloaded the tool kit, Odin, probably reset my phone 40 times by now. No one else seems to be having this problem, at least not that I can find. So, really I just need like a direct instruction on how to root and flash a custom ROM onto this phone. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
EDIT: (even though no ones responded yet) I tried a few different ROMs and it kept getting stuck at the "Samsung" screen. The final one I tried is Doedexed V1.2. It got to 20% and then restarted. It also looped up at "Samsung." So I flashed over a generic recovery backup I have for the SCH-950 and then suddenly everything looks different, as If Doedexed V1.2 were suddenly applied. Everything works fine... occasionally something is in a different language, but that's minor. I know it's still my voicemail lol. So... yeah... I could definitely use some info now lol
I haven't used my OnePlus One in several months since I got my Nexus 6. I've been meaning to sell my OPO, but got lazy about it. Now I can't be, and I need money for rent. A friend/co-worker who's in serious (in my opinion) need of a new phone wants to buy it off me.
My OPO was on LiquidSmooth 4.4.4 but obviously it's out of date, so I tried to update it. I tried once before to update it with a 5.1 ROM, but it kept failing. I remember there was something about the firmware or baseband version that needed to be flashed to go from KK to LP, but it was several months ago, and I can't remember what exactly it was. And for the life of me, I can't find it.
I tried to find what it was, and in my searching I found that CyanogemMod Official 13 had a built-in baseband updater. So that's what I tried. TWRP version was/is 2.8.7.0. Maybe that was the problem?
Anyway, CM13 (the most recent snapshot) installed, seemingly fine, but it won't recognize my SIM card. I try reinstalling it, and it still won't recognize the SIM. Moreover, it doesn't even detect a cell signal (it should, as all cell phones in the US are required to have 911 emergency access, even if you're not actually paying for phone service). And then it starts rebooting. Not a bootloop, because it boots. Then a few minutes later, it reboots. Continuously.
So I try a different ROM. The latest Resurrection Remix (I have it on my Galaxy S4 and it works fine). Same thing.
The even weirder thing is that I figure I should just restore my latest nandroid, but it's not there. In fact, nothing's there. Nothing visible through TWRP's file manager or backups. Not even old pictures, which I didn't delete. I didn't delete any storage (because I wanted my backup, just in case, duh). But TWRP still shows that there's 26GB available. So obviously, there's something there. I just can't see it. My fault for not saving the nandroid elsewhere, but Humpty Dumpy has already fallen.
I have Wugfresh's toolkit (yeah, yeah, I know...), and tried restoring it to stock, and it won't do it.
I've used ADK in the past, but it has been way to long for me to remember specifics, and it has apparently been updated with the newer Android versions. Obviously, I've looked at the sticky thread about restoring your OPO to stock, but it hasn't been updated in a while. So I'm worried about using those instructions. I've looked up youtube videos, and they're all too old as well. I'm also worried that I'd be using the wrong version of ADK. I'm not scared of using ADK, as long as the instructions are correct and clear. I'd be using Windows 8, if that matters.
So what I'm asking (begging) for is instructions on how to make this phone work properly again. Quickly. I've tried doing the research myself, and haven't found my solution. I'd keep at it, but time is getting short, and I can't afford that. Literally. I can't afford the hours spent (it's 1am and my the office closes at 4pm), and I can't afford being late on my rent. A couple weeks ago I spent way too much up in Phoenix to go see Guns N' Roses (at least I got a kickass T-shirt). Entirely my fault. Also my fault for not realizing how desperate my financial situation was about to be, and for waiting to ask for help until now. And I'm not going to ask to borrow money. I just can't.
Finally, and I know it's taboo to ask "what's the best ROM?", because I've answered that question myself with "there isn't one - try them out for yourself and find which one's best for you". But as I said, I'm out of time., and I haven't been keeping up with what's going on with OPO's development. My friend is not like us. His phone's a LG cheapo POS from years ago that's on 4.1JB. He uses it for calls, texts, and podcasts. He doesn't need root, or even custom recovery for that matter. In fact, I'd prefer if it didn't have root (although custom recovery might be nice, just in case). So if I can get this damn thing working properly again, what'd be a good ROM for my firend? OPO's official Oxygen? Are they still updating it? Stability is the primary concern, but if there's something that gets regular (and stable) updates, that'd be good too. With an updater that's built-in, simple, and wouldn't need and XDA forumite to do it for him. Because it'd be nice that he could get updates with Google's security patches. But since he's still using a 4.1 phone, he's obviously not all that concerned about that issue. But still, that'd be nice.
Thank you (fingers crossed).
