DISCLAIMER/FYI
- I am aware that other locations/websites offer one or more of the following Firmware/PIT files. I'm providing them all in one place to help others out in obtaining them.
- Due tot he size of the Firmware Files, the PIT Files are only available on the Downloads area of the DevDB.
- Any process (like updating your modem) via Odin/TWRP/CWM is simple/easy to do but, as always, if your not sure of what your doing and don't do your research (ie... searching, asking questions, etc... first), then you take the risk of damaging your device.
- I take no responsibility for any unexpected results or damage that may happen but, I am always willing to provide assistance to help you out.
- Also keep in mind that when performing any unconventional updates, unlocking, rooting, etc... you may end up "voiding your warranty"!
INSTRUCTIONS
1. If not already done, be sure your PC/LPTP has the latest "Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones" installed.
2. Download the Firmware and extract the ".tar.md5" file needed from one of the download links (below).
3. Reboot your device in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons).
4. Connect the USB cable to the Device and PC.
5. Open Odin and select the PDA/AP and choose the ".tar.md5" Firmware file you downloaded.
{Please Note: It's typically reccomended to use Odin v3.12-v3.15 (other versions may also work).
6. In Odin, please be sure not to make any additional selections than the default that was already selected when you opened Odin.
{Please Note: ONLY if using a PIT file, be sure you select the "re-partition" option.
7. Select "Start" at the bottom & be patient for the process to complete as it can take some time for Odin to finish. Once Finished, Odin should reflect a Green "PASS" when completed (The device will also reboot automatically when done).
PRIMARY DOWNLOAD LINK (FIRMWARE)

PLEASE NOTE: The AFH Firmware Downloads are compressed in a ZIP to conserve on Bandwith/Space. Be sure you decompress/unzip the download for the ".tar.md5" needed.

Alright, this is great thank you! I have a noob question. I have the g900v with unlooked BL and I have the latest modem but an older BL.
.will flashing the newest tar give me the ever illusive matched pair without locking the BL?

Flashing any one of these will restore your device to its default state, to include locking up your bootloader.
It's extremely rare for a device, with an unlocked bootloader, to require or benefit from updating the bootloader itself unless it was to repair something like
Unbricking it.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello! I am currently running a PHX ROM - Stock MM - baseband version QA1, build number MMB29M.G900FXXS1CPK1, it is a port from the S7. I have a locked boot loader - CD11 chip.
Is it possible to flash the QL1 update to this phone on this ROM, or do I need to go all the way back to stock? (hope not....)
Thanks!

This looks like a 2 part type of question but, I believe that it can be answered with 1 part of it since I believe that you may be looking for something else and got a bit confused regarding this specific thread.
Are you actually looking for the Baseband Modem Update for your G900F device?

Hello!
I am looking to update to QL1 from QA1, but I am using a ported stock based ROM. I am unsure if using the files here will allow the phone to work. The phone is really a G900V (VZW) but registers as a 900F as it's a ported ROM

Go to your devices "Settings Menu" then "About phone" and tell me what it states under the "Baseband version".

Awesome!
G900VVRS2DQA1.
My main reason for trying this is to get my security updates from Nov 2016 security updates to a much better patch.

Okay, we're getting somewhere here.
Your question is, in fact, a 2 part question...
1) Your Baseband is out of date:
Your Baseband is kind of a set of drivers that controls a few things that's tied to your Modem that controls Mobile Data, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth etc...
Yours reflects the "QA1" and there's been 7 updates to it since that was released.
Go to the following thread and use Odin to flash the "QL1" Update.
[BASEBAND-FIRMWARE-MODEMS]Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 {SM-G900V/KLTEVZW}[ODIN] by Ibuprophen
Please remember that the above Modem update will not affect your firmware that's installed. It only updates your Baseband Modem. When it finishes flashing, you can go to the About area and see the update there.
2) Specifically regarding the Security Patches:
This is Firmware ROM specific...
If you flash the latest Stock Firmware to your device, indeed the Security Patches will be installed but, if you port that Custom Firmware back to your device, you'll loose those security patches from the Stock Firmware.
The Developer of the Firmware that's installed on your device will have to implement and update the Custom Firmware specifically for Security Patches.
Basically, if you have an outdated Custom Firmware for your device, and want to keep a Custom Firmware installed, then your best bet is to use another Custom Firmware that's more up to date.
I hope that I had explained this okay via text...

This help very much!
So updating to QL1 using that thread will update my modem.
If I want the latest security patch I need to do one of two things:
1. Hope JKruse updates the ROM
2. Go back to stock and update normally.
Thank you!!!

Yes for the first one and, the second, see if there's another option for your device if you don't want to revert back to stock.

The provided Stock Firmware and Pit on this thread is for ALL Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 devices (kltevzw / SM-G900V).
Just don't confuse this with the separate Firmware Modem files. This is the Stock Firmware for restoring the device back to factory stock.
The thread with the Modem files are only for Updating the Firmwares Modem only. The Modem Files are pulled from the stock Firmware.

Thanks for answering. When trying for example *#06# it doesn't work, says invalid mml code. Is there any way I can have all CSC codes working?

This looks like your device isn't a G900V...
It looks like more like another Galaxy S5 variant like a G900F.
This will only work on G900V devices. It doesn't make a device a G900V.
EDIT: I just wanted to further clarify this point @xddd00... The "CSC" is the "Country Specific Code". If you look at the following link, you'll see that the SM-G900V has the "USA (Verizon)" specified and there's NO other "Stock" Firmware options available for this specific device for other Countries.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s5/SM-G900V/
This specific device WILL NOT allow for other "Stock Firmware" to be installed BUT, if this devices Bootloader was Unlocked, then the option to install a "Custom Firmware" opens up.
I hope that I had clarified this better via text...

I've seen this before...
There's been members who had a device that pointed to one variant but, was actually another variant.
I'll have to admit that I'm not completely sure about how it was done but, you should be able to obtain some member guidance within the following Q&A thread that's specific to the Galaxy S5 and Variants.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700073
Let them know that everything looks like a SM-G900V with CID11 but, after attempting to flash the Official SM-G900V Stock Firmware, you are having issues with the CSC being incorrect.
Something similar to the above but, it does get to the bottom line for your question.
I may chime in, if needed, to help clarify what I know about it.
Good Luck!

Hi, I know this isn't the right thread, but its the closest I can get to having my question answered.
So basically I have a DROID RAZR HD XT926 rooted, with android 4.4.2, kernel version 3.4.42 and system version 182.46.10 which is downgraded using instructions from here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/general/root-droid-razr-hd-xt926-183-46-15-t3062040
So what I want to do is unlock my bootloader. I have been trying for a few days and searched many forums but with no success. I didn't find any other method other than using motopocalypse. I have tried using the apk version from my phone and the app says bootloader is unlocked but when I check in fastboot mode it says device is locked and status code 0. When I use the pc method ( I have windows 10) it just shows daemon started successfully... and then u nothing.
If anyone could provide any assistance I would really appreciate it.

If there is, no one has discovered it yet. Most developers have given up and moved on to newer devices, so finding a way to unlock the bootloader is effectively impossible.
Help updating an old XT926
Hi
I have an ex-Verizon XT926, although I am in the UK. When I first got it I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader (and changed some obscure setting so that it would potentially work on GSM in the US). But I never actually updated the ROM or took any OTA. So it is still on Android 4.1.2, 9.16.6.XT926.Verizon.en.US.
Although I'm being offered 9.18.79.en.US OTA, it won't successfully take that (presumably because I've rooted it, or because it doesn't like the version of TWRP I have installed).
I've spent some time googling/searching, but as the version-relevant threads are pretty old now, it all gets a bit confusing.
What I'd like to do is to upgrade to Marshmallow, if a reasonable version exists for this phone. Is it essentially as simple as finding a suitable ROM and installing it from the SD card using ROM Manager? Or via TWRP? Do I need to worry about what version of TWRP I have installed?

I wouldn't use Rom Manager, Twrp version does matter, find a rom you would like to try, then ask in the rom ask in the Rom thread which TWRP version works best.
You will most likely need the Kitkat bootloader
I would just flash a official kitkat 4.4.2 (xml.zip) firmware with RSD Lite

I used the cyanogenmod app to download cm12 and the Gapps nano package for cm12. Also tried cm11 with and without its corresponding Gapps...just hangs on the duel core logo, cm12 hangs on the blue alien logo? Should I factory reset? Or will I lose my cm downloads and be screwed? Thanks for the assist
Solution to my problem was to wipe internal storage, dalvic cache, system data and cache, the went great I have cm12.1 running smooth all gapps from nano package running well. Thanks for the help, cm12.1 is really nice.
Hello,
Thanks to many threads here I was able to fix my non so well working xt925 and installed a working CM 13, but right now I face a little issue :
Everything works fine (android, apps, ...), but when I restart the phone, instead of following the restart I ask it always goes into fastboot.
I can force reboot recovery, normal, whatever, it goes to fastboot.
I have then to type fastboot continue, or to reset into bootloader to hit the command Normal powerup to start launching android.
I haven't found much info about this as everytime I looked for it, I only got people stucked onto fastboot with broken recovery/os.
I am with a jellybean bootloader.
EDIT : I actually found the solution, get into fastboot mode, and type fastboot oem fb_mode_clear. The device will then restart normally. I guess I hit factory mode at some point in my previous operations. Sorry for the useless question.
Martin
No custom ROMs work?
I have an XT925 with an unlocked bootloader and it was stuck in AP fastboot mode for some time before I unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP recovery 2.8.6.0. RSD Lite still won't flash 4.0.4 or 4.1.2 and just returns:
Code:
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT
I can however flash stock 4.0.4 and 4.1.2 ROMs to my Razr HD using the Razr HD Toolkit (thread here), and flash a modified Canadian 4.4.2 OTA (from here) using RSD Lite.
For some reason though, no custom ROMs work. Many others (such as PACMAN) were hosted on GOO.IM or some other dead site (such as the unofficial Resurrection Remix), so they were impossible to download. I've only tried Dirty Unicorns, MIUI, CM11, CM12.1 and SlimKat, and only Dirty Unicorns could get to the boot animation. All other ROMs don't boot past the Unlocked Bootloader Warning screen (which has now been replaced with a Motorola Dual Core Technology one).
Any ideas?

[NOT GOING TO HAPPEN] SkyHigh kernel support for S6

--- NOT GOING TO HAPPEN ---
Some of you may be familiar with my SkyHigh kernels. I'm currently supporting most of Note5 and some S6 Edge+ models.
I may be able to support a couple S6 variants, but will require something from you.........................
If any G920F user wishes to contribute, then please post the latest stock boot.img from G920FXXU3QOLF firmware.
You can download any extract from either sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com
If you can confirm what your device directory is:
Code:
/sys/devices/battery.[COLOR="Red"]54[/COLOR]/ (which number do you have?)
As I don’t have your device, but my Note5 uses most of the Exynos7420 source, I believe it shouldn't be any issue. So if someone does this, I may be able to contribute to your forum
.

F and I may be compatible source. I would need to check the defconfig for both, as well as the base ramdisks.
So, please send through the OKB boot.img. It's older than the F firmware, but I still can check.
@UpInTheAir
/sys/devices/battery.52/
Is what i have.
Im currently grabbing the FW file to rip the boot.img for you.
Edit: Boot.img added here: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ufbxa8

/sys/devices/battery.52/ - This is on Xstreolite ROM which is currently using COI9
Boot.img is from the the following: G920FXXU3QOLF_G920FORO3QOL6_G920FXXU3QOL6_HOME.tar
Stock kernel from G920FXXU3QOLF. I have /sys/devices/battery.52/
We are still waiting.
Is not going to happen. I asked for this to be locked...... @superleeds27 tested and it didn't boot. I have read that if you flash from arter kernel you might have issues. But I don't know and too difficult without device.
Thread closed as OP request.

***INFORMATION REGARDING***
***NEW/REWORKED UPDATES***
The Modem packages were recently reworked to include the "much needed" Baseband files (of course) pulled from the Official Samsung Stock Firmware.
This is ONLY because the following list of files are ALL of the Baseband/Modem files that are actually the part of the Firmware that controls ALL the radio devices within the GS5 to include (but, not limited to) the GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, Cellular Data/Voice, etc...
NON-HLOS.BIN
RPM.MBN
SBL2.MBN
SBL3.MBN
TZ.MBN
Please keep in mind that, because these functions are Highly Regulated & Certified, they are actually Separate from the Android Operating System (aka the Firmware ROM installed like AOSP, LineageOS, etc...).
This is the reason that, after flashing the "Baseband Firmware Modem Update", it DOESN'T DIRECTLY AFFECT the Android Firmware installed on your devide. Your Android Firmware (basically) takes note of the update and updates itself to reflect those said changes (simply put without getting too deep).
DISCLAIMER/FYI
{Please Note: It's typically reccomended to use Odin v3.09-v3.12 (other versions may also work).
6. In Odin, please be sure not to make any additional selections than the default that was already selected when you opened Odin.
{Please Note: Be sure NOT to select the "re-partition" option.
7. Select "Start" at the bottom & be patient for the process to complete as it MAY take some time for Odin to finish. Once Finished, Odin should reflect a Green "PASS" when completed (The device will also reboot automatically when done).

Just an FYI regarding the reason for this thread...
Basically (by popular demand) i am providing all the Odin Flashable modern updates for all the d2vzw firmware modem releases.
I had all the Stock Firmware files and, during my backup drive cleanup, I finally found them and am providing them to those who are in search of them.
I highly doubt very much that Samsung will release any further Firmware updates but, if by chance they do, i will update this thread accordingly.
Please use the Alternative Download Link while i upload the Modem Update Files.
Thank you very much for your time, patience and understanding.
Enjoy!

I DO NOT PROVIDE SUPPORT VIA PM UNLESS ASKED/REQUESTED BY MYSELF.
PLEASE KEEP IT IN THE THREADS WHERE EVERYONE CAN SHARE
All 5 of the Modem files have been uploaded to the thread...
Now their available for download via this XDA DevDB Thread as well as the Android File Host (Alternative Download Link).
The OP has been updated to reflect this as well.
Enjoy and, as always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

In case anyone was interested, I had just uploaded the USB driver for the Samsung devices to my File Host Account.
The following link takes you there. It's for Windows OS and I also had Zipped it up to help reduce the size (all you have to do is unzip it for the software).
Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones v1.5.65.0 {05-22-2017} - Android File Host
I believe that this is the latest version released in May 2017 but, if anyone knows where there's a more recent release than the v1.5.65.0, please let me know.
I hope this is helpful for you!
Thank you very much and, as always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

UNLESS asked to do so, PLEASE don't PM me regarding support. Sent using The ClaRetoX Forum App on my Enigma Machine {aenigma = Latin for "Riddle"}.
I just wanted to bring to your attention that I plan on revisiting/redoing all the modem updates that I personally provided/contributed to. This actually involves 3 devices and 1 of them has 2 variants (what a headache too) that includes this thread.
There's technically nothing wrong with the ones already provided but, I've got to look at this in 2 fronts.
1) Basically, some Variants were only released with LTE. This means that the NON-HLOS is only needed thus making the HLOS something that's mute and never needed.
In turn, those threads, I have, that provides the two options for devices that requires only one of them will have the HLOS ones removed.
2) First of all, please keep in mind, that the following will STILL NOT AFFECT any Stock/Custom Recovery and Firmware already installed.
Thank you all very much for your time, patience and understanding with this!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

I just wanted to let you know that I had made all the appropriate changes regarding my recent announcement on reworking the updates.
***PLEASE see the information under the Image on the OP that provides you with an outline of said changes.
As stated on the OP, i just wanted to point out that I'll be working on uploading them all to the Downloads Area of this DevDB thread (aka The Primary Download Link).
Please use the Alternative Download Link (on my AFH Account) that's provided on the OP to obtain the Baseband Firmware Modem Update you require.
Please let me know if you have any questions or just wanted to say Hello!

I have a soft bricked galaxy sIII sch-i535. At first it was saying data partition corrupt, must reset. Reset button doesn't work. Boots up in download mode but I don't know which firmware is the right one as I cannot get into the phone to see. Recovery tar passed in Odin but everything else fails. Now it gets stuck on bootloop on the samsung logo. I have researched and found so many different resources, links that no longer work. I no longer know what to do. All I need are some very important photos off the thing. Any help please!?

[ROM] [Unofficial] [LineageOS 14.1] [Verizon] [d2vzw] [SCH-I535]

New home for the UNOFFICIAL builds of LineageOS 14.1 for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 (d2vzw) (SCH-I535)
Transitioning from the Q&A sub-forum "Level of interest in maintaining UNOFFICIAL LineageOS 14.1 for d2vzw ??"
This ROM is built only from source pulled from the official LineageOS repositories. Nothing is changed by me. You get exactly what Lineage would make available if the phone was still "Officially" maintained.
The only difference is my build is signed with my private key, vice the official Lineage key.
Since my build is signed with a different key, you MUST PERFORM A FACTORY RESET (which means WIPING DATA).
If you do not WIPE DATA, the flash will still complete, but when you try to run any apps, they will most likely crash.
You cannot backup your applications and restore them after flashing, so you will need to reinstall all your apps from scratch. This behavior is not an issue with the ROM, but an Android security feature to protect your phone data.
If you choose to install a Google Applications suite (aka GApps), you MUST flash the ROM & GApps AT THE SAME TIME. Said a different way....
You CANNOT flash the ROM first, let it boot, set it up... and THEN go back and flash GApps. This requirement applies to any Official LineageOS ROM.
Builds will come out mid-month to capture Lineage updated and android security patches.
While I have verified flashing the build on my own phone, and the process should work for everyone else.... I STRONGLY recommend everyone do a FULL BACKUP before flashing the very first time.
This ROM is ONLY for the VERIZON Samsung Galaxy S3, so DO NOT flash it to other S3 variants.
The most current build is available from:

STOP! DO NOT PASS GO!
You MUST also have an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER. If you are using SAFESTRAP because you CANNOT unlock your bootloader, then you are out of luck. This ROM will NOT work with SAFESTRAP.
Make sure you're TWRP version is up to date! Older versions of TWRP will have issues flashing this ROM.
https://dl.twrp.me/d2vzw/
Make sure you are using the latest Modem. It should be I535OYDNE1
If you don't have it installed, you can download a zip, that is flashable through TWRP here:

Hint: When using your SGS3 without a cellular plan (wifi only), make sure to put the phone in Airplane Mode to disable the cellular modem, but then turn on WiFi and Bluetooth. GPS does not seem to be affected by using Airplane Mode. The small airplane icon will remain in the status bar after turning WiFi and Bluetooth ON. Using this technique, with the phone in Balanced power mode, I can routinely get 6+ days of standby (phone powered on, but not actively used). There is also an Efficiency Mode, and Power Save Mode. I've experimented with Power Save mode, and went 10 days with mostly standby and some short term intermittent use; however the phone is slow to respond and a bit sluggish.
Battery Replacement info: For those interested, I am only on my second battery since I bought my d2vzw new. OEM battery latest almost 4 years. My second battery I bought off Amazon, from Anker. I continue to get very good life with the Anker battery. It also has the built in NFC antenna. At some point, I expect I will need to replace the Anker, but most batteries I see online, do NOT include the NFC antenna. If you've replaced your battery recently, and are happy with the quality/performance, it would be great to post the brand and seller for everyone's benefit
Excellent job @mjb32803!!!

How many users do we have?
Dropbox doesn't provide any download metrics, so I have no idea how many people are using this ROM.
If you've downloaded and flashed, I'd appreciate if you'd either PM me, or make a post.
Posts would be preferred along with a note about how its is working for you.

I had just been using it for a short time in the last few days...
All i can provide is that it has been working very well with little to no issues to really report. I just have to use it a bit longer, myself, to provide anything substantial (since it's not my primary device).
Just an FYI/clarification for those who may not be aware of this minor thing...
Disable (aka set it to Manual) the LineageOS Firmware Updater within the Device itself. This just uses resources and Internet data. The Unofficial updates are provided by @mjb32803 and requires them to be manually downloaded and installed.
Thank you very much @mjb32803 for your time, effort and, importantly, your support for this development!!!

Haven't flashed yet but joining this thread for tracking! Have 2 perfectly functioning S3's at home and will be watching this conversation. Thanks a ton for the effort and time! :highfive:
I'm on your ROM, thanks!
Not my primary device but nice to know I have a current OS when I do fire it up.
A few delays this week. Upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 Mate
I wasn't prepared for the impact of upgrading my system from 17.10 to 18.04, and things went a bit crazy when I tried to create a new build.
After spending a few days tinkering, I decided to follow my own instructions to recreate the build environment and setup the repository.
While frustrating, it was a good opportunity to verify what I had documents.
Needless to say, my instructions did not work as written, although I was pretty close and just a few tweaks were involved (thanks Google).
Short story is that I think I got everything working, and I am currently running a build.
Keep your fingers crossed (@23%) and moving along nicely.
Update:
Build done. Flashed to my phone and currently testing. So far seems good. This build was mainly to verify everything works after my 17.10 -> 18.04 Update. In any event, I will post through dropbox in a couple of days. FYI, The Android MAY security updates have not dropped yet, so they are not in this build.
Thank you *so* much for keeping this alive. I've been using my S3 for far too long, and it's just a mess of a hacked/rooted phone on the last official KitKat update. I'm moving later this year and will likely move the entire family over to T-Mobile (Sprint T-Mobile?) at the same time since I like the extended number of phones supported by their network vs Verizon (and I know my family will too, like the Honor 7X). Until then, freedom!
Tested, new build is available
See Post #1 for the download link.
I've been testing thing this one on my personal phone for a couple of days, and no issues so far. :good:
@mjb32803, I just wanted to let you know that your last build has been working really well.
Thank you very much for your continued development and keep up the good work!

Appreciate the feedback. Battery life on my phone has been pretty amazing. Using the phone as a remote for Roku, and my WD TV Live streaming boxes, and occasional email checking, web browsing... I get 4 days between charges.
Am in the process of running a new build...
New Build Available 2018-05-17
Download information on post #1
The May security patches still haven't dropped, so they aren't in this build.
I've been running it since yesterday and is smooth for me.
New Build 2018-05-20
Download and Installation info in Post #1
Yes it's only been a few days since the last build, but this one includes the May 2018 Android security patches. I have flashed to my phone and tested Play Store, Root Explorer, Firefox, Maps, Camera, Contacts, K-9 Mail... all seems good. Normally I would run the phone for a more extended period, but thought I'd make the update available quicker since it does incorporate the security patches.
Enjoy.
Update. 1 day 3 hours since flash. Working well. Battery @ 71%
mjb32803, thanks for your hard work keeping this project going. I use it and I love it.

I haven't encountered any Firmware issues with it (thus far).
Thank you very much!

New Build 06-02-2018
New build has been posted.
Download instructions can be found in Post #1
Tested for the past 18 hours. Stable with good battery life.
I would love so very much to update my SCH-I535 with your awesome LineageOS build - thank you for doing this! However, is it true that if my GS3 OTA updated to Android 4.4.2 than I'm totally out of luck and am forever stuck with crappy old Android?? I hope not

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but yes, with 4.4 you got KNOX installed and cannot unlock your bootloader without bricking the phone.
