I maybe the only one here and sound rather spoilt but I was hoping for an gift or accessory for pre-orders like a few of us.
With the S7 it was the GearVR and last year they promoted the AKG earphones with the S8 (ok, they came with all of them). It also came in a lovely big Samsung box.
Even though it hasn't stopped me upgrading I feel they missed a trick here by creating more buzz on pre-orders.
we get a year of bein connect for free but i have a theory. Samsung lowered prices in some countries and priced higher on others, to compensate they offered freebies to less developped countries like mine (Morocco). To me looks like the richer countries are paying for poorer countries well except in the US. The other problem is, just from browsing the s9/s9+ forums i can see that the sales will be much lower, as we had hundredrs of posts on the s8/s8+ fourms during the preorder period vs less than 100 here. So Samsung should give more freebies in few weeks to boost sales
True lads, most countries gettin free wireless chargers etc, dex would be nice to get as a freebie, ahh.. i bet there'll be some freebies like a month after or so
In Saudi Arabia the pre-order is for th 256 GB varient only and the freebies are : (Selfie Stick;Car Charger;AKG wireless Speaker;Wireless Charging Stand)*
yep not happy no freebies on offer in the uk!!!
ok through a carrier we get the AKG y50BT, a 128gb sd card and 1year bein sport for free
Here in Italy S9+ is sold at 999 Eur. A little too much for my taste, They offer a buyback for used phones that in most cases is enough fair. For example S7 Edge is rated 350 Eur, S8+ 450, iphone 6 200 Eur. Sadly being patient and waiting for next months rebates wil be possible to buy the S9+ around 800 Eur and sell These phones for a little less thanwhat Samsung offers with more convenience.

That's alot. £890 conversion to GDP. Is it the same spec as UK [6GB RAM, 128GB storage]?

I also noticed this price in Italy and asked the same question but no, it's the same version with 64gb storage. Every Amazon in Europe charge 950€ except Amazon.it.
S9+ 64GB 900$ here in India and with a very good exchange offer that can get you even more discount

Rightly said. I have pre-booked one by availing card, exchange and EMI discounts. I have opted for 18 months interest free EMI which is fantastic. As mentioned above the freebies only add to the cost of the overall price of the product which I am not that keen.
In Indonesia just get TUMI Case for all preorder S9/S9+
Not only are there no freebies but they had no discount bundles for preorders like they do for the released ones now. Kinda crappy Samsung .
I already have a VR, AKG headphones, and a 256gb EVO card from prior purchases. It'd be nice, but this time I just needed the phone.

In Czech Rep you wont get freebies but you can handle your old phone to get 100€ discount + price of your old phone if it had any value. Think its much better than freebies, which you wont usually use...
I got a Harman Kardon Onyx Mini for pre-ordering my S9+. Price here for 128GB is MYR3999 ~ USD 1022.

amazone.co.uk got it for 420 euro.
When these hits retail stores, I probably will have to pay around 450 euro, mybe even more (they usualy overprice).
499 @ ditech, austria, vienna on 4.4
i think i will fall to 450 when they are able to supply enough units to satisfy demand. i bought mine despite of the higher price because i fear(ed) that the rumored production halt of the s4 processor in march will cause supply problems for 1-2 month ...

Thats £420, which equals ~510€, it's not 420€
I paid £428 for mine including shipping from Clove. It's not the lowest UK price, but there is not much difference at the moment, and their customer service when I bought my Desire from them in 2010 and in the few days leading up to my purchase was good enough that I decided it was worth giving them my business again.
In Italy costs around 600 euros (insane price :O)
So I'm also looking for cheaper units in Europe
I am wondering what the estimated price will be for this phone in the US with upgrade. I have to start setting aside money for the end of the month.
Today 489 Euros in a retail store, while a lot of mail order retailers are a bit higher still here in Germany.
Just nursing it to an 12h initial charge before starting to play around with it...
Because of the many pre-orders, the S4 is already a bestseller on Amazon:

Official Samsung Price is 699 Euro in Europe. To be precise: 699.99 Euro
Samsung is selling it for 699.99 in their European shop:
http://www.samsungmobileshop.at/handydetail.php?id=504
Of course the street price will go down.
Only the early adopters will pay that price, for the privilege of being the first to have one in their hands.
A UK vendor has apparently seen a 40% increase in pre orders over the S3!!!
Antonie knows what model is it? Friday Will have it. Anny issues with ee UK? I live in another country and Will use it with Orange. Paid full unlocked without plan. Almost 1100£ pounds... Does anyone know if it is korean or european version?
How did you buy the ee version I thought it was only sold on contract?
It's the single sim version. No Carrie blot, only my EE app which can be uninstalled.
Should come with the dual screen as my version did.
I'm also looking to buy it outright, but haven't found a way yet.

If you are buying it from EE then it will be the European model with the Dual Screen. £1100 is a lot of money. The Korean version is £613 and I'm tempted by this but it won't be covered by LG UK warranty whereas your V50 from EE is covered within Europe.
I agree it's too much money. I want to keep it but only SIM only. I asked EE if I could buy it they said I have to buy out my contract.
I'll try again as if I return the phone me they will lose money on selling as a refurbished handset.
Hello, guys! What a thriller movie with this v50!
I ditched the ee uk version and bought from ebay - switzerland seller - the korean version. After payment i noticed the seller is from Hong Kong. I will inspect the phone carefully, and if is legit I'll keep it. I was promised 1 year warranty and invoce - it was paid from my company bank account. Waiting for it 2-8 days seems like living in inferno. Paid 840 USD - 747 euro to seller, free shipping to romania. I'll pay 19% VAT customs taxes so a total of 888 euro. No dual screen but thats fine...
The european version has bootloader unlockable, do you know if the korean version has also?
I was looking also on ee uk website and the real price would be from 1700£ pounds in 2 years with best plan, but is sim locked until you pay full contract. Impossible the price. Yes, I admit you have the plan, but here in Romania with 15 euro a month I have a better plan from Orange. 65 GB in 4G+, 5 GB in roaming, speeds are 130mbps, unlimited sms, calls, unlimited youtube, Facebook, instagram etc
I'm glad,
You can find the dual screen on eBay so when your ready to purchase just look there.
Hope you like the phone. I certainly do, still debating in keeping it but it's a great phone. Really like the dual screen as that's one of the reason why I like this so much.

For me, the LG V50 5G is the best phone of 2019 with the best cameras/camera software, nice design on the back/less on the front, best audio quality (v50 standard DAC destroys by a mile other phones dacs, QUAD - DAC is light years ahead, best AMP for headphones, 50 Ohm impedance trick, DTSX, LDAC), best fit for my Tidal Master account, best fit for my sony wh1000m3 headphones, snapdragon 855 mobile platform with 5G modem (IMO sd855 destroys a12 bionic or kirin or exynos), USB C 3.1 with 5gbps speed and HDMI output with power delivery, otg support and probably better display than samsungs s10 line. Indeed I miss G7-G8 form factor, but the v50 is in another league of quality. These are just a few of my reasons... You should KEEP IT!
It might be possible to not pay taxes as the phone was shipped from Manchester - UK. Just tracked it via DHL Express ... I called them and they told me I dont need to pay taxes as it is fro the EU. Now it just remains to verify it is original LG V50! Fingers crossed! :victory:

Samsung didn't offer me $600 - they offered $450. I got the branded ATT varient because it is more compatible with ATT enhanced services.
So for me - it was about the same as Samsung;s Deal - Plus you can only get that cool blue color from Best Buy - another plus for me - but maybe not for everyone.

Well crap. I didn't see that. That means the Galaxy Watch wouldve been basically free for me. Oh well.
You guys are lucky.... 200$+ a value for your "old" phone...... Just simulated my "return", 100% NEW (from warranty) Note8 and they will refund me 310€ (347,42$) and NO acessories .......
The new Note 10+ (256GB) prices are around 1130€ (1266,69$) unlocked..... Carrier wise is the same price..... Definitly NOT worth it!!!!! Even with the possibility paying it in 24 months (for a phone!!!)....... Almost forgot that the wages here in PT are very, very, very low so its possible that more then 75% is sold on credit........
So if i want to upgrade i will have to wait untill xmas and hope that this will take a dive in price at that time, for now its just reading reviews and opinions.....

Try ordering with different browser, I couldn't complete my order on Firefox, was going back and forth and the "submit" button didn't work, kind of 'greyed out', I think I had that problem before(also Citibank), so I used Chrome and it went right through. I was really disappointed that Samsung had the $450 offer for my AT&T S10+, and had $200 to buy more stuff, and I REALLY tried to find something they had listed but I just couldn't find anything. So I cancelled my order with Samsung and went the Best Buy route, thanks for the great tip! It makes a super expensive phone a little easier to get.

I don't think it matters to them, they only specify the model in general and talk about condition of the device. Am gonna take care of documenting the condition of my return with lots of pics, record Serial # etc. Someone said that Samsung outsourced the returns to 3rd party people, who knows where the returned stuff goes, but I am sure it's all for profit and they might try to 'stiff' us a little here and there to knock some bucks from the promised $600.
I found the details on trade in email from Samsung, we have to wait for now 'til we get the phones:
Quote: " For a limited time only, on Samsung.com/Shop Samsung App, pre-order or purchase a new qualifying Galaxy NOTE10 or NOTE10+ device ("Qualifying Purchase"), send in your qualifying trade-in device to Samsung through the Samsung Trade-In Program, and if Samsung determines your trade-in device meets all eligibility requirements, you will receive a trade-in credit specific to your qualifying trade-in device to apply toward your Qualifying Purchase. Device models that currently qualify for trade-in and trade-in credit amounts associated with those models are available on Samsung.com and the Shop Samsung App; eligible models and amounts may change at Samsung's sole discretion. To be eligible for trade-in, your qualifying device must meet all Trade-In Program eligibility requirements, which include, but are not limited to, that the device powers on, holds a charge, and does not power off unexpectedly; has a functioning display; has no breaks or cracks in the screen (unless a cracked screen offer applies); has no breaks or cracks in the case; has no liquid damage (whether visible or not); has no other defects that go beyond normal wear and tear; is not on a black list; has a verified FCC ID; has been reset to factory settings; has all personal information removed; has all software locks disabled; and is owned by you (leased devices are not eligible). Anticipated trade-in value will be applied as a credit at time of purchase, but, if you do not send in your trade-in device within 15 days of receipt of your Qualifying Purchase, you will be charged back for the trade-in credit applied to your purchase, or if you send in your trade-in device within 15 days of receipt of your Qualifying Purchase but Samsung determines your device does not meet all eligibility requirements, you will be charged back for the trade-in credit applied to your purchase minus $25. Participation in this program does not excuse you from contracts with your carrier or retailer (or any related payments or fees) for the device that was traded in. Limit 1 trade-in per Qualifying Purchase. Samsung reserves the right to modify or discontinue this offer at any time. The Trade-In Program cannot be combined with any other Samsung, carrier or retailer promotions, discounts, or offers unless specifically provided for in the terms and conditions of such offers. Additional terms, including terms that govern the resolution of disputes, apply."
Last year, when I traded in my Galaxy S21 Ultra to get an unlocked Galaxy S22 Ultra on Samsung.com, I got a $1,000 trade-in pre-order deal, which meant I only paid about $250 for my Galaxy Ultra S22. The S23 series was just announced, so I looked at the Samsung site to see what trade-in deals they had for an unlocked S23 Ultra. Pretty underwhelming. Only $500 for an S22 Ultra, which would bring the cost to about $700. Sure, you get 512 GB for the price of 256 GB, but I don't really care about that (256 GB is plenty for me). If I could upgrade to S23 Ultra for about $250 to $300, I'd pre-order it in a heartbeat, but not at $700.
Bummer! (I know, first-world "problem"... ).

If you're ordering from the US, there's an additional $500 instant discount, not sure if this is available in other countries or, how long the offer is in effect.
I guess it's Samsung's way of pushing people to pull the trigger, FOMO on the $500 instant discount. Yeah, I agree, those trade in offers on their own are pathetic, you're better off checking out a carrier model vs unlocked direct from Samsung.
If you want 12GB RAM, moving up to the 512GB (or 1TB) storage option is necessary, as the 256GB storage option only has 8GB RAM.
No kidding. This really pissed me off. I thought I had missed something. Now not so sure I will switch up.

It'll be applied once you select color/storage/trade-in. (on unlocked models only, you'll see the message right above where you select Yes/No for trade-in). The carrier models have a different trade-in allowance, you'll see different messaging in the same spot.
You'll see the pre-tax price at the bottom of the screen before you check out.

It's the same $500 trade in price that they're referring as "total instant credit". There's no additional $500 discount other than the trade in discount reflected in the pre tax price.
it is really amusing for me to read about people complaining about things as op does, I have always paid the full price for all my devices, looking for those trade in, or signing never ending contracts looks to me like a pain the ass, better, you pay for your phone, walk out of the store, and that's it
It's not a $500 instant discount. I'd get a $500 trade-in discount for my Galaxy S22 Ultra to get an unlocked Galaxy S23 Ultra straight from Samsung. That's way worse than last year, when I got $1,000 to trade in my Galaxy S21 Ultra to get the Galaxy S22 Ultra. I'd have to pay about $700 now to trade in my Galaxy S22 Ultra for the S23 Ultra. That's simply not worth it to me. Had it been $300 or so, like last year, I would have done it, but not $700. Ah well, would have been nice, but my S22 Ultra is still a great phone.

Yeah, we're talking about the same thing,$500 + whatever device you're trading in for an unlocked model.
I'm guessing the $500 instant credit isn't going to be around much longer, if at all, past the pre-order period that ends on 2/17/2023.
My apologies if my choice of words led anyone to believe there was any other additional $500 discount.

I'm curious what you do with your older phones if you're not trading them in. Samsung for the most part (not including this year) offered great values for trade ins in good working condition which means less headaches and hassle which is normally the case when you try to sell it yourself. Unless you're the exception and rock multiple phones as your daily driver.

What never-ending contracts? This isn't about contracts, simply the phone itself. I'm specifically talking about buying an unlocked phone straight from Samsung, not tied to any carrier. That's basically the online version of "pay for your phone, walk out the store, and that's it" like you do. Use it with any carrier. I, for one, prefer to pay as little as possible for a phone, so if I can get a great trade-in discount like last year, I'm all in.
I was simply comparing this year's S23U trade-in offer to last year's S22U, and it's way worse than last year. Last year, I got way more for my phone as a trade-in than I would ever be able to get selling it on Craig's List or OfferUp. That's definitely not the case this year. I'll hang on to my S22 Ultra longer, which is totally fine with me.
you got it wrong, I spoke in general, about you, I was referring about the cumbersome procedure of sending the phone, waiting for them to judge for what ammount they assess it, etc. I just pay for the phone at the store and presto! , I never sell the phones I have used, I use them 2 or 3 years
yeah I`m with GoogleFI and I preordered through there, 600.00 instant discount and free upgrade to 512gb storage for the same price as the 256gb just like what samsung doing on there webiste, all I have too do is keep it activate on GooglefF for 120 days, so it was $635.99 total for the 512gb green color.
Edit: also the samsung phones on google fi are the unlocked versions.

Exactly my feelings and situation right now. Pathetic game by Samsung. I was waiting all these days for the launch and willingness to upgrade. With just $500 for my s22u this doesn't make a sense at all to switch. S22u is so fast that any faster won't matter. It clicks good images too. With 700 plus taxes its not a worthy upgrade. Had it been around 350 usd i would have jumped into the wagon

With just $500 for my s22u this doesn't make a sense at all to switch. S22u is so fast that any faster won't matter. It clicks good images too. With 700 plus taxes its not a worthy upgrade. Had it been around 350 usd i would have jumped into the wagon

What particularly irks me is that you get a higher trade-in discount for a previous-generation iPhone 13 Pro Max than their own Galaxy S22 Ultra. Awesome way to reward brand loyalty.
The S23 will be just like all other phones.. People will buy them. Then not long after haveing it, they will complain about how bad the camera is. Or O Samsung dropped the ball, this phone is no differnet than bla bla bla before it.. I prchase my S22 Ultra back in April of last year.. I paid in full $1400. It does what I need it to do, Call, Text, Surf, email.. That is all I need it for.. Unless the phone can do the following 1. Brush my teeth, 2. flush the toilet, or 3. cook me dinner.. I will not be purchasing a new phone until at least this one dies.
BTW Iphones are like Toyota's they hold their value.. Samsung is like American cars. Pay high price, then watch the value drop, one you leave the store.

totally agree with you, even my beloved galaxy note 7 performed very well after 4 years of use, when somebody stole it from my son, the things is, some people have unrealistic expectations about the latest premium devices, I try to get all the pertinent info before buying , I have had Sammsung devices since the S3, after, I moved to the note series, now I returned to the S, just because the ultra model is the new note
Watching this thread, looking for best deal??? Yeah, Samsung is not giving any good deals when I looked. Better yet, I have tmobile, when I went to see what trade in was for my s22 ultra was. unbelievable $150!!!!! Are they nuts??????
Ken
Yep not a very good deal on Samsung website. Even with my perkspot discount I will end up paying around $700 for 512 GB. But then I saw email from my carrier, Google Fi. They are giving me 512 GB version for $600 plus $300 trade-in value for Galaxy S22 Ultra. So, I guess it's pretty good deal for me through Fi. In the end I'll only end up paying $300.

That's why, if it still works, and if the S23 does not have anything breath taking comepared to the S22. Then why in the world would people want to get a new phone.
