Galaxy S7 randomly shuts off with the battery at 0% - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

The phone in question is a Samsung Galaxy S7 G930F.
Here's the issue: The phone randomly shuts off (at any battery percentage). The only way to reboot it is to put it on a charger.
When you put it on the charger, it acts like the battery was drained completely. The charge begins at 0% and it charges normally.
It can shut off in any instance, in the middle of a task, while on standby, where it's heated up, where it's completely cooled.
Any ideas what might cause this?
Is it a hardware issue (battery or something) or something software related?
Any help or tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Usually a bad battery will cause this.

[Q] Question about battery and turning on phone after it "died"

so I got my anker battery and I am trying to drain/full charge. I drained the battery and the phone automatically turned off itself. I turned the phone back on again and it still turns on. After booted it tells me theres is 2 percent left, so I open as many apps as I could to drain the battery and all of a sudden the phone just shuts off (kinda like when you unplug an electronic). Usually the phone would tell me that the phone is in low battery and would shut off itself, not abruptly like this.
so my question is, is what I'm doing damaging the battery? does that mean I have bypassed the bottom limit of the battery, which I heard is pretty harmful to the battery.

Issue with battery info on 44S.

Hello, how are you?
I have an issue with my OPO.
It is currently running 44S.
The issue is:
I charge it fully with the original wall charger.
Unplug and then star using the phone.
The battery remains on 100% for longer than usual.
Then it starts coming down.
When the battery gets around to 30%, the phone switches off.
I plug it and there is the message that the battery is too low and that I should charge it a bit before turning the phone on.
This then repeats itself after I charge.
My observation is that the battery remaining info is not correctly calibrated and that 30% should actually be 0%.
The battery life is normal. It just doesn't give me the correct info on battery remaining.
Anyone else have this issue?
Ideas on how to fix it?
Cheers!

how many charge cycles you been through? let it fully drain and then charge too 100% without stopping a few time. also, there are a few battery drain/calibrator apps to help you in the play store

Samsung Galaxy S6 Charging Problem

Hi, guys!
After updating my phone to 5.1.1 I now have a weird scenario when charging my phone.
I would let my phone die, and then when I charge it I would switch it on when it gets to round about 10%. Upon start up my battery display in the notification panel will say around 50-60%?! I'm really confused. Is there a way I can reset this? I have tried cycling the battery but that hasn't solved it.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks,
Paul.
afaik its not good to leave the battery go below 5%
i always try to keep my battery between 40% and 90%
after an os update it takes a couple of weeks for the new os to adjust itself to the battery and the more you use it the better it will predict the remaining battery level
I have issue with battery charging too. When i plug it charging is fine ,but when i get phone on my hand to use Then stop charging like 10-20 mA from 1100 mA. Any suggestions?

note edge battery problem

I recently realized that something is so wrong with my note edge. It suddenly shuts off by itself at 15 - 20%.
I have an old extra battery and do the same thing at 5%.
I have perform factory reset and charge the phone while turn off, nothing can do.
I bought an extra battery (not really sure if it is original) in ebay but did something weird. It wont charge full, it only charge at only 90% or arround. Even overnight charging and it still can not charge to 100% unless I take off the battery and place it again.
Is it cuased by marshmallow update? or Is it hardware issue?

Galaxy s7 battery problem

Hey .
The last two days I am experiencing a strange issue with my galaxy s7
.When the battery gets close to 20% the phone just dies. When I plug a charger it starts charging from zero percent.
I have done a factory reset through the recovery menu but it didn't change anything.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
In my experience, that kind of issue is usually due to a bad battery... I had a laptop that would go from 80% straight to 20% because some of the cells in the battery had gone bad - and then the recharge would take the normal amount of time. I think it's time to see about a new phone. (or maybe a new battery if you're brave enough to open up your phone)
