Since this morning I'm noticing a bug on notification bar, it says it's charging another device. Even though it's not connected with any USB C. (maybe reverse charging is released with the new update)
Anyways, can someone help me to fix this bug???

Reverse charging has been since launch of the phone.
You might have have dirt stuck in your usb c port.
Shut it down and try cleaning it.

So I just received my MotoG LTE yesterday, and while at work, needed to charge it up. I plug a USB cable between the PC and phone, and the PC recognizes the phone, and I even setup USB tethering and try out the data connection. All's well as far as that's concerned.
I notice that the battery icon in the notification bar has a lightening bolt in it, but the battery is not charging (says Not Charging in the Battery section in Settings). I try another USB cable with the same results. I try it on another PC, same results. Using an AC powered adapter allows the battery to start charging, but won't charge from the PC.
I contact Motorola's online chat to inquire about the situation, and they ask me to go into the Developer Options section (which many of you know is hidden initially on this OS). I get into Developer Options and enable USB Debugging. BOOM! Charging via the USB cable from PC is now working!
I inform the chat rep that the phone is now charging, and mention that this bug needs to be fixed. She proceeds to tell me that it's not a bug, and that my phone is defective and I should return it.
My opinion is that this IS a bug, and another phone will exhibit the same issue. Anybody else experience this same USB charging issue?
I'll reply to/update my own thread.....
I just got off the phone with Motorola's support. Apparently the online rep I chatted with earlier didn't know squat. This charging issue is a known issue and slated to be fixed in the next OS release. As I guessed, my phone is not defective, and a replacement unit would behave the same.
So for those that are having trouble charging the phone via a PC, just enable USB Debugging mode and it will start charging.

Ah I see seems like a software issue to me if it was a hardware problem your phone would not charge at all either on ac or USB as it is a charging/data port on the phone.
Hello,
I recently flashed TWRP and CyanogenMod 13 on my Mi4. It was working quite well, I had some problems with the rotation sensor and some bugs in the software, but Quick Charge and also the Connection to the PC worked without problems.
Today when I was on my way home I was charging my Mi4 with a Qalcomm 2.0 Quick Charge Powerbank from Aukey (i have used it in the past on other phones, always worked great), but it seems that the USB cable was broken, it was charging very slowly and it also seemed to have a defective contact (the cable charged if i moved it around a bit, but in certain positions it wouldn't charge).
However, when i got home and plugged it in, I noticed that the phone also charged very slowly with the charger, so I thought that I would just flash MIUI back on the device to fix it, maybe it was a problem with Cyanogenmod. But that didn't work at all, the phone couldn't connect to the pc.
So, here's my problem: The PC can't detect the phone and it also seems, that the phone doesn't recognize, that its connected to a pc. Charging via the USB ist still working, but very slow. Also Quick Charging isn't working, it doesn't matter which charger or cable I use, it's always slow. When I connect the phone to the charger or the PC it takes like 5 seconds to recognize, that a cable is connected, then it starts (slow) charging.
The phone doesn't show up in the windows device manager at all (there are no unkown devices shown, the pc just doesn't react when you connect the phone). Also there is no message on the phone when you connect it (usually you can choose if you want the use your phone as a usb drive or just charge it). I also tried to activate MTP in the developer settings on the phone and turning USB Debugging On/Off, but it didn't help.
I managed to download a MIUI Rom from xiaomi.eu with the phone and installed it with TWRP, but it didn't help. So I think I actually broke the USB Port of my phone with a defective Micro USB Cable. The phone can still charge (very very slowly, no quick charge possible), but I can't connect it to the PC anymore. The pc also won't detect the phone when it's in fastboot mode.
I tried to look it up on the internet, but all I found were people with driver problems, and I don't think that I have a driver problem, because it seems like there is no connection between PC and Phone besides the charging.
Anyone knows something about this? Is it even possible to just break the data connection and the quick charging with a defective cable?
Hey, did you get your Mi working? I have a similar experience with mine.

No, I didn't find a solution for the problem. Phone is still not working, I even ordered a new charging port, but I made a mistake and ordered one for the LTE version. I have the 3g version, so the new charging port didn't even work with my phone. I don't want to spend any more money on it, so I just gave up on fixing it.
Same problem, and I am also stucked in recovery for now, never will buy phone without SdCard now...
Somobody found solution?
So before my xz premium completely stopped charging my phone used to randomly stop charging and charged very slow I used quick charge 3.0 and certified usb c cable I had to put the usb type c cable in a certain position to get my phone charging but after a while it completely stopped charging I inspected the port it was fine no bent nor broken cleaned the port but it didn’t charge after sometime I started messing with the phone so I found a way to charge it when I put pressure on the bottom of the phone from front and rear of phone where usb port and flex cable is connected it starts charging but I have to put a lot of pressure to get it to charging I don’t know about hardware so I am here If someone can guide me ty.
Is the charge manager enabled?
In this case the manager try to think at which time you disconneythe the phone from charger and stopped after a while to continue in front of disconnect (or what he think at which time it is)
No the charge manager or (Battery Care) is not enabled but I opened the device myself because I thought it might be a loose connection of charging port's flex cable but it was connected to the motherboard fine but the situation was the same I pressed the flex cable where it connects to the motherboard and the phone started charging I think it's some sort of motherboard problem as it happened with some other xz premium users as well.
P.S:Replacing the charging port didn't fixed the problem.
Hello,
I had a similar problem.
At first it only carried in certain positions or pressing the region where the flat connection. After 1 months it stopped completely.
My problem was in the motherboard charge connector, I needed to buy a new connector to replace with solder. After 30 days, everything continues to function normally.

Changing the port won't fix the issue it can only be resolved if u change the btb connector on the motherboard.
Anyone knowing how to do it?
Hi. Stripped phone down and removed old BtB connector. How do you solder the new part to the motherboard. Is it just the four corners you solder or do all x10 pins on each side need to be soldered?
Can somebody who has changed a BtB put a step by step guide if poss?

ok update i've been trying to repair it/solder it in a couple 3rd repair (because there's no sony xperia service center here in indonesia..) and they say they can't, then i wen't to this repair shop (this one looks not promising) then i got a message after 3 day they say they can't repair it, i was hopeless, i left my phone there.., and after 1 and a half month i think, i finally went to get my phone, and when i arrives to get my phone they charge me 15$, in my head i was thinking "why they charge me? they didn't even fix it"
then the repair man said "we fix it" i was shock they didn't even message me and said it was fixed (they have to) so i pay the 15$ and check the phone its completely normal it's charging the fast charge work, but.. they reinstalled everything (factory reset) kinda strange.. but it's find ok so that's it
Hello,
My charging port started playing up so I changed it out this morning. I could initially get some current through the original port depending on which position the cable sat.
After changing the USB connector flex im now not getting any charging. Even when I go back to the old port.
Has anyone had this problem before?
The phone is dead but showing an very quick blink of the LED every 10 seconds. Think its green in colour but not sure (Colour Blind).
Double and triple checked connections and they all seems to be fine with no broken flexes.
Maybe connections are not making clean connection are you using a magnifying lens to see if they are and have you tried using a different plug.
Check out this thread I hope you get yours fixed cheers. link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xz-premium/how-to/charging-problem-t3919700#post79610395
I have an HTC U11, yes I dropped it but no issues except for the primary mic stopped working. I had the mic issue fixed (the repair guy said the connection was loose, fixed it, and the mic works). But immediately since his fix, I'm randomly getting this Warning message: "The USB port of this device is experiencing a problem. Please disconnect the cable immediately to avoid possible damage. Do not use the USB port until you ensure that it is clear of obstructions and hasn't been exposed to liquids." This warning is displayed when nothing/no cable is connected to the USB port. Please see attached screenshot. It happens so sporadically, could be when I'm not using the phone or when I am using the phone and it's happening more frequently now. Sometimes I hear a beeping sound with the warning message. Does this mean I need a new USB port? FYI... Charging my phone works fine; no charging issues. Please help.
Update: The cell repair guy is ordering a new USB port to see if that resolves the issue. Fingers crossed!!

Did the new USB port (or was it the charging port and circuit board) solve the problem? I've been having the same problem with an HTC U11 and now HTC U12 Plus phones.

You must have changed your battery to aftermarket, the aftermarket battery doesn't have temperature sensor, if you check with devcheck app, you will see the battery temp will always stay at 27/28 degrees regardless of how hot the phone becomes. So the system sees USB is hot while battery is cold and then panic that you may have a short at the USB. The only remedy is to get OEM battery, or transplant you original battery board/flex to your new battery. I did my transplant and no more annoying message that won't let you do anything until you reboot or allow me phone to cool down.
