Google fit problems. - Huawei Watch 2

I'm using Google fit because it tracks my daily steps\calories, is compatible with 99% of the watch faces, is free, and back ups online (or should). I haven't found any other app that does this, so if someone knows of one, PLEASE chime in. I'm pretty fed up with Google and their lack of support. Ever since I've had the watch (2 weeks), I have to go through some magical ritual of turning off BT\WIFI then turning it back on, then restarting my phone and\or my watch, and standing on one foot whilst singing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" backwards, just to get the fitness data to sync. When it FINALLY does sync, I loose literally thousands of steps and calories. Yesterday I lost 14,000 steps, and over 1,000 calories. Today I lose 16,407 steps, and over 400 calories. I've submitted feedback to Google 3 times with no response, started a post on their discussion forums, and left a bad review on the Google Fit app in the Play Store with NO response from them at all. I figured I should ask here and see if anyone else has run into this issue, and what they did to fix it...or if there is another app that I can use that will ACTUALLY work. Thanks in advance everyone.

How am I the only one with this problem? What could I be doing wrong?

Got that too, same problem with synchronized with watch. On watch all OK but on phone app not auto sync And only as You said restarting watch helps

The only Google Fit problem I have is that the app refuses to use the watch GPS if connected to phone. Not sure why you have that You may want to nuke it and start fresh on your phone and watch.

I have before, and it appears to be getting better with the Wear 2.9 update. There's a lot to be desired with this Fit app and support, hopefully it'll get better in future updates.

I gave up and just went with Runtastic. It reliably syncs to MyFitnessPal and that's enough synergy for me. It doesn't seem to know what to do with treadmill walking, but it still marks down a couple hundred calories burnt after the workout. Fiddling with Strava and GoogleFit and HuaweiHealth just proved to be an exercise in frustration for me.

Can you please join this thread and send a bug report for this issue? Thanks guys! https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/77606997

Stolen device and requesting some intelligent advice

Heya everyone!
Okay.
So I had a house theft where my Nexus 10 tablet was stolen.
I had Prey installed, but stupid me, disabled this from the Task Manager thingy thinking that it was eating up the battery, along with the GPS location option.
So both of those were not active at the time of the robbery.
I can go to the Google Play Store and see that it's being used every day, but it can't locate where it might be.
Two months had passed since then where suddenly I saw someone using my Pandora account and even entered in her real name.
After a simple Google search, I found her, including her address, and told a detective about this.
He stopped by to see her and she gave a good explanation, stating she no longer had it anymore.
The last time she used Pandora was the same day the detective was there.
I emailed Pandora if I could get an exact time stamp on the last song that was played and I'm waiting to hear from them.
I have a replacement tablet, another Nexus 10.
I can go online and ring the stolen device, lock it, or even erase it.
The tablet is still in my name even though it's gone.
Is there anything extremely smart I can do with this situation?
Thanks ahead.
-James
Since you are getting a replacement tablet, there is no need to get the original back. However, you might want to wipe it (as you stated you could) so nobody can use your Google account or take advantage of any personal info.
Change your passwords to those accounts you had on your stolen tablet.
Examples of accounts: Google, email(s), Pandora and all others which have a password.
If you had confidential information like your credit card number, etc, you might also wish to get them changed.
You should go online and disable your stolen device - erase and lock it.
Get over it bro. Buy a new one

PSA: Google Now "Reminders" still seem broken.....

This isn't a new issue, but i would have hoped Google would have fixed it by now. My AT&T S7 seems to still have the problem. I can create reminders, but they fail to fire off no matter what. It's like it wasn't created at all. This can be a huge issue if it's the kind of thing you rely on. Also, when I tap on the reminders section of Google Now, it just shows "failed to load". The rest of Google Now seems to work OK, just not the reminders. And like I said, it's not a new issue, just an important one. I already tried rebooting with no fix. If anyone has any more info about the issue or can confirm it, let us know.
Give it a try on yours and see if it is working.
**UPDATE**
Ok, it seems to be working now, it must be a Google server issue. However, it still doesn't handle short term reminders very well. Anything of tried to set for 5, 10, 15 minutes doesn't fire off. Setting for an hour seems to work better. With a memory like mine, I need all the short term reminders I can get. Again, this is an already reported issue with Google Now but I would have hoped Google would have fixed it by now.
Anyway, just be aware that there may be an issue with the Google Now Reminders and make sure you thoroughly test it out before relying on it on your phone.

Recurrent Set Screen Lock Message

I have an issue since I upgraded to Tizen 3 that I can't find the answer for. I keep getting a recurrent message saying EAS requires a PIN to access email content. The dumb thing is I already have a PIN and the phone is set to Gear Lock with Payments only. I type in the PIN I have and re-enter it only for the message to come back again in a few minutes.
This problem is very new for me since Tizen 3 and it happens even after a factory reset. It is so annoying.
I have a corporate email on my phone but I don't understand why it keeps coming up even though I have a PIN already on the watch.
Please help!!
I have the same issue its crazy frustrating how can we fix?
Is that a new issue for you since Tizen 3 update? This has never happened to me prior to the update.
As others have said before I'm pretty unhappy with this update. I have worse battery life, the Gear VR integration hasn't worked for me, and this PIN thing is crazy frustrating.
I'm having the issue as well, and I have no corporate email, just Gmail. This only started happening after the Tizen 3.0 update and has persisted through a device hard reset.
One thing I'm wondering is if my watch strap is causing the issue. It seems Tizen 3.0 is handling things differently with determining if you're wearing the watch by relying on the heart rate sensor. I think it relied on gyroscope before. All I know is my NATO strap suddenly prevents AOD entirely and notifications only work if I set it to show them even when I'm not wearing the watch. I'm guessing the strap running between the watch and my wrist might be causing the PIN issue because it thinks I'm taking my watch off.
The thought about the strap is an interesting one and one I thought may be at play as well. It would be a disaster if that is what is causing it because I don't know if there is a good fix for that.
Anyone recommend any straps that potentially could fix this problem?

Click to collapse
I just put a regular strap back on and AOD and notifications work normally now. Unfortunately it doesn't affect the issue in this thread. Even with a regular band that doesn't go between the watch and my wrist I'm still getting the EAS PIN issue.
Seems like there is NO solution to this problem. I'm about to sell this it's driving me nuts.
Knock on wood, I just updated to Beta 6 Oreo on my GS8+ and have not yet seen this error.
Clear your phone's app data
I fixed this problem a while back... I also had a problem with the gear app on my phone crashing repeatedly. I think it was by going to settings on my phone, selecting storage, internal storage, apps, Samsung gear, clear data. It will erase your steps, etc. But in my case fixed the problems. By the way, I got this fix by calling Samsung support.

Google Fit - Problem with synchronization between watch and phone

I bought yesterday Huawei Watch 2. Unfortunatelly, I can't sync my data (steps, calories) in Google Fit from my watch to my phone. When I wear a watch and a telephone at the same time, on both devices are the different data. I have the same google account on both devices. Does anyone have a similar problem? How to solve it?
Did you install the Huawei watch app and Huawei health?
Yes, I installed. But sometimes it doesn't sync with google fit. I don't know what kind of dependency. I noticed that the data goes to google fit on the phone, usually around 23 o'clock. Yesterday, I wear only smartwatch (without phone) and yesterday, for example, the data did not synchronize. I don't know how to fix it.
I went for a walk with my phone in pedometer only mode as battery was low..I came back with 17000 steps, this is reflected in the Huawei Health app on the phone.
However it doesn't seem to come to Google Fit in one go..slowly it has been increasing and is now up to 12000 steps from the 1600 it was at before the walk.
I don't understand the sycn between Health and Fit - if the apps are connected why doesn't it go into Fit as soon as the data is there?
Is there anyway to force synch, it's really annoying.
I don't normally use the phone in Pedometer only so didn't see this before, normally my watch faces are using Fit instead of Health so I see the results in Fit app on the phone a lot faster.
I'm having the same issues with my Huawei Watch 2 Classic and Pixel 2 XL phone. Please join this thread and send a bug report so that we can get this issue fixed! https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/77606997
Hi,
Have you tried doing the following in Google Fit:
1. Enter settings
2. Turn off "Track your activities"
This work for me om ny Huawei Watch GT. Still I ONLY gir the steps, not the other data.

Help in Mexico and htc u11 has ghost touch like issues

First of all I have trolled this site for years and years and you’ve help me fix a ton of problems. I had to join today not because I’m a developer, but because I love my android phone and it’s acting up and I’m in the middle of Mexico & I have no idea what to do.
I first noticed it with my camera when the focusing circle would show up randomly the screen will get brighter and darker or dark and brighter and I couldn’t take a picture while this is happening. Then I would notice of menus are close automatically or then the cascading screens would close or even the voice to text which shut down or the keyboard would close and the phone is become basically useless. I’m not sure if this is related but all of my contacts from exchange account also disappeared. I got those bad my uninstalling and reinstalling the exchange account.
I have among other things deleted all updates and restored, did all the tests on the sensors the screen and everything else I can find the systems test, I have removed any program that was running in the background that I didn’t need, I have turned off battery optimization for just about everything, I have cleaned and re-cleaned the device, I’ve taken off the case, and some of these things of the numerous times, I got rid of all of my apps for text, email, dialing that we’re not stock apps and I’m still stuck. I’m even having to use an iPhone to send this it wasn’t possible to send this from my droid.
Please be nice I’ve done my best searching and I haven’t found any answers when I’m in the middle of Mexico with only spotty Wi-Fi. Sprint is my care I’ll be checking this to 11 o’clock now for the next couple hours in hopes of response so I can use my phone tomorrow, thanks advance for your help
