GALAXY S9+ CAMERA PORT FOR Mi A1 - Xiaomi Mi A1 Guides, News, & Discussion

hi,
We all know that both Samsung Galaxy S9+ and Xiaomi Mi A1 have dual 12 MP rear camera setup.
and after S8 the main enhancement in the S9+ is the CAMERA as they say CAMERA REIMAGINED .
So, anyone if you can make it available for MI A1 please.
I know this is too early to have it, the phone is not even on sale. But , I m really very excited.:fingers-crossed:
It should be there, just as the Google camera got famous.

Yes, unicorns exist and pigs fly :good:

Dream all you want, it's not possible. Unless you are ready to spend probably more time than this device is worth - go ahead.
Remember, this is not a MIUI forum. Just in case.

For your information we can't. We need a Samsung device with Experience UI for that. Like S7/Edge with ported Experience UI , S8/+ . They will get it from devs by port. We don't. So enjoy the current stock/GCam in ur MI A1
Have a nice day. Anyway thanks for giving me a Troll. Some of my groups will laugh today

People in these forums can be such nutjobs. Buying stock Android then asking for Samsung Camera. Classic XDA.

[Q] xda dev support for xiaomi

he there i just want to ask why xda dev don't support xiaomi devices as other other brand
i mean the mi note is in the market for a while and the mi note pro is around the corner
but there is no form for them while the galaxy 6 and one m9 has not been revealed and there is already form for them
Xiaomi does not release kernel sources or does it very slowly. Without sources dev support is impossible.

Xiaomi already has a huge dev support, you probably know how many people are living in China right ? As long as you can use your phone in english, tons of roms, or multilanguage roms updating themselves every week.

Which phone for under 250€ should I buy? :)

Hey dudes, my name is Semi, I am from austria and I am kinda new to this forum!
I would like to buy a new phone and maybe I will find one on the 11.11
It should be between 5 and 5.5 inch, 3000+mAh, good camera, much power under the case and well not about 250€ (less is always better)
So i will tell you my favourite ones and i woudl like to know what you think about them!
Leeco Le Pro 3 X720 (6GB/64GB Snapdragon 821) now for just 210 €
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (4GB/64GB Snapdragon 821) for about 230€
Leeco Cool Changer S1 (6GB/64GB Snapdragon 821) for about 240€
Xiaomi Mi 5s (3GB/64GB Snapdragon 821) for about 240€
Xiaomi Mi 5 (3GB/64GB Snapdragon 820) for about 240€
ZTE Axon 7 (4GB/64GB Snapdragon 820) for ahout 230€
Maybe you have some experience with them and can help me
Or maybe you know another good device?
best wishes

Hi,
Have you tried posting your question here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277 ?
And I would personally suggest the Le Pro 3 if you don't care about software updates and custom roms.
If you do care about those, you might wind up getting one of the Xiaomi you cited.
Or you could get the Xiaomi Mi A1 with stock Android (Android One) on the expense of less processor power (but good software).

Actually, I was wrong about that!
Usually, LeEco doesn't officially update their phones (what a shame!), but XDA has great support for few of them and luckily for you, the LeEco Pro 3 is one of those. You can check out in the Le Pro 3 development forum.
I'd say that the Le Pro 3 has more software support than the Mi Note 2 and the Mi 5. Xiaomi also doesn't really provide periodic updates. And the Le Pro 3 has more support on XDA than these phones.
Thank you so much

Pretty cool that you found that out... i even didn't have a look cause i thought there is no support at all
But i think i will go with the le Pro3
Ye you are right with Xiaomi, but if they bring huge updates they include nearly every device they ever made ( f.e. MIUI 9 update)
so i will have a look if i find a good sales price !
thank you so much for your help !
Best wishes

Development ROM for Doogee Mix 2

Hi!
I'm just a user on android phones and really would love if someone made a ROM for Doogee Mix 2. There is already a rom for Doogee Mix, but as I ordered a mix2, would love to have a clean rom for it...
Here's the Mix2 on banggood: https://www.banggood.com/DOOGEE-MIX-2-5_99-Inch-6GB-RAM-64GB-ROM-Helio-P25-Octa-Core-4G-Smartphone-p-1201795.html
The device official page: http://www.doogee.cc/detail/mix-series-bezel-less-smartphone/122
Please consider the development as the device, for the price, is affordable and has got good features
Thanks
I'm also waiting for doogee mix 2
It seems a very nice phone .
First of all we need a TWRP recovery to root it with Magisk .
I hope some developer will work on this device
Hope so! I'm crossing my fingers
I got it for a while now i am waiting for custom roms too hope we will have some developer make it for us in USA this phone only work for T-Mobile not support AT&T a little bit disappointed
Hi, I agree with you. I've received mine for about 2 weeks now. It really is a great phone. I also hope for a custum rom to be developped on it
Oukitel mix 2 seems like a better choice over the Doogee Mix 2. What do you guys think?
Oukitel Mix 2 looks also nice (more like Mi Mix 2) but cameras seem to be worse and casing of doogee mix and doogee mix 2 is very strong and tough. I've got Doogee Mix, which is a very good phablet (but I don't like selfie cam downside). Doogee Mix 2 has perfect quality, perhaps a little bit heavy.
Yes, USA has got many developers and if the phone won't work correctly in USA, there's a chance they won't make anything... but there's also other countries developer's. Hope someone develop a clean ROM for it!
@ahorntaler @allincheung here's a comparison... in general terms, Doogee Mix2 has got a 10/10 tho, I like oukitel very much also, has better resolution screen and other advantages... but i bought the doogee and i'd like very much to have a clean ROM for it I know the doogee has got face recognition unlock.. that's something to add up to the comparison....

This is the factory image for MIX 2 https://romprovider.com/2017/12/firmware-doogee-mix-2/
this might work for rooting
i have heard that some guys managed to root their phone using superSU and placing it on a sd card and from the stock rekovery using update from sd card but that might just be a lie i dont know and sorry for the bad english
For now, there is yet no alternative, clean and function-adding ROM for the doogee mix 2 here at xda... because of the christmas bustle i dont have yet mine delivered, but i hope i can get it soon

Sorry to put this query here. Even i haven't got any place to right it down. I also have a same problem. Rear camera not working. Bought this phone specially for camera specifications. When will be the updates release to make the second rear camera work. Even 8 MP Nokia camera takes better picture than this 16 MP. And there are many bugs. Many apps crashes. And on YouTube I have seen many videos which shows many camera app showing 4k video recording option, but I think that was after update and I still haven't received it.i show that video 1 month back

Brand new to android phones, help me pick

Hi guys! I dont know where to ask, i have seen about 25 ish videoes on youtube, read some sites.. read some more sites... and... read...... you get the point
I am new to android phones, i went from Siemens, to Sony Ericsson to Iphone as my smartphone, i have had Iphone sience the first iphone. I am very happy with my iphone. BUT.. i wanna try something new.
I have decided between One Plus 9Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.. i dont know why Samsung is there, but might have something to do with it beeing abit main stream. I have never heard about OnePlus.. and certantly not Xiaomi ( i dont know how to say that name irl).
I am not a Photographer or Videomaker, but i want to use the Camera alot of my phone.
Out of these two, what would you guys reccomend and why. Answers like "Pick the one you like" , "S21 ultra is the best" or " Xiaomi " does not work for me. As i have never seen the two brands, i can only know about them from you guys and the rest of the internett.
As far as i have concluded: Both have amazing screen, Both have good cameras, Both as fast and Xiaomi have better battery, but does not look as good as the OnePlus. OnePlus is also cheaper
Would i as an Amature Photographer, Videomaker and Android user see and feel the difference?
Only one is for sale in my country atm, but i can wait for the Xiaomi

I won't compare cameras and storage and all but I can advise you in terms of software. Go with Samsung if you want clean and safe android. Samsung is also a data stealer (as people say) but MI steals more data because MI is known to put any virus or something (like clean master app) as system so, you can understand. Bloatware is a problem with both so can't judge that way. But, in personalization, MI is no match!!!! I mean if you want extraordinary themes (like iOS themes which almost change whole system!!!!!) then go for MI because there are no such themes available in Samsung phones.
I am basically a fan of Samsung but one time I broke my phone so I took it to Fxit Right. They said it will take some time to fixit so, in replacement they gave me Redmi I used it for some good amount of time. A real good phone but if you compare it to Samsung it doesn't stand a chance against it.
So, I would say go for Samsung Note 9 ..
