[Q] xda dev support for xiaomi - Xiaomi Mi 4

he there i just want to ask why xda dev don't support xiaomi devices as other other brand
i mean the mi note is in the market for a while and the mi note pro is around the corner
but there is no form for them while the galaxy 6 and one m9 has not been revealed and there is already form for them

Xiaomi does not release kernel sources or does it very slowly. Without sources dev support is impossible.

Xiaomi already has a huge dev support, you probably know how many people are living in China right ? As long as you can use your phone in english, tons of roms, or multilanguage roms updating themselves every week.

Hi,
Have you tried posting your question here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277 ?
And I would personally suggest the Le Pro 3 if you don't care about software updates and custom roms.
If you do care about those, you might wind up getting one of the Xiaomi you cited.
Or you could get the Xiaomi Mi A1 with stock Android (Android One) on the expense of less processor power (but good software).

Actually, I was wrong about that!
Usually, LeEco doesn't officially update their phones (what a shame!), but XDA has great support for few of them and luckily for you, the LeEco Pro 3 is one of those. You can check out in the Le Pro 3 development forum.
I'd say that the Le Pro 3 has more software support than the Mi Note 2 and the Mi 5. Xiaomi also doesn't really provide periodic updates. And the Le Pro 3 has more support on XDA than these phones.
Thank you so much

Pretty cool that you found that out... i even didn't have a look cause i thought there is no support at all
But i think i will go with the le Pro3
Ye you are right with Xiaomi, but if they bring huge updates they include nearly every device they ever made ( f.e. MIUI 9 update)
so i will have a look if i find a good sales price !
thank you so much for your help !
Best wishes

GALAXY S9+ CAMERA PORT FOR Mi A1

hi,
We all know that both Samsung Galaxy S9+ and Xiaomi Mi A1 have dual 12 MP rear camera setup.
and after S8 the main enhancement in the S9+ is the CAMERA as they say CAMERA REIMAGINED .
So, anyone if you can make it available for MI A1 please.
I know this is too early to have it, the phone is not even on sale. But , I m really very excited.:fingers-crossed:
It should be there, just as the Google camera got famous.
Yes, unicorns exist and pigs fly :good:
Dream all you want, it's not possible. Unless you are ready to spend probably more time than this device is worth - go ahead.
Remember, this is not a MIUI forum. Just in case.
For your information we can't. We need a Samsung device with Experience UI for that. Like S7/Edge with ported Experience UI , S8/+ . They will get it from devs by port. We don't. So enjoy the current stock/GCam in ur MI A1
Have a nice day. Anyway thanks for giving me a Troll. Some of my groups will laugh today
People in these forums can be such nutjobs. Buying stock Android then asking for Samsung Camera. Classic XDA.

Pocophone. The last one I remember was the Redmi Note 3. It was too popular for a long time.

Why is there no forum section for Xiaomi Mi 9 (there is only one for the SE and 9T)

Hello, I wanted to buy the Xiaomi Mi 9, but my requirement for phones to buy, is that there has to be decent custom ROM support.
Either I am blind or there really is no Xiamoi Mi 9 forum section, but only there weaker phones like 9T and 9 SE. Is that true?

[WHY] Not many discussion in this device forum

Why there are not many forum discussions for the this device. Is it because this device not popular yet.
I migrated from Xiaomi mi9. I was using mi9 for more than a year and can also see the forum discussions are very active including custom ROMs.

i think the combination of
- The most expensive MI device
- COVID
- Limitation of the international market, they just focus on China?

Yes. I agree with you. Due to covid sweep, this device couldn't get to European and global market.
We may have to wait until it gets into the hands of international users.

Or they all on telegram until proper development start's
The problem with Telegram is thats it just one massive thread.
I was expecting some custom ROMs already, MIUI is ok, but I got the phone intending to put a custom ROM on it ASAP and bearing in mind the good reviews it has got over the last 6 months and how hard it is to get hold of the global versions I too, expected a lot more activity here by now.

Which Channels?
- Expensive
- One of the first native Android 10 devices, therefore a lot of difficulties with development of TWRP due to its super-partition
- Mi 10 mostly uses identical hardware, therefore many threads are in that sub-forum
- Telegram channels lead to people not posting on xda anymore (which is bad, because any random guy can host those telegram device channels, so they can disappear, it's an uncategorized mess and search is bad)
It really is not very expensive at all if you do some minor searching - £713 GBP (8/256) including import fees to the UK is cheap compared to most other flagships of similar spec.
I was surprised to find that the Pro does not share the same forum as the standard Mi 10 seeing as its only the battery and the cameras that are different, certainly any custom ROM would simply be a mildly tweaked version of the standard Mi 10's ROM, it would have been far better for the phones to share the same forum.
Telegram also not many people discussion,i already join in mi10 Pro global, and already sign out also..useless
Telegram is so messy. Not easy to find the appropriate information. Would like to know which gcam and xml file that are best for this phone.
cmi was test dummy, Xiaomi tested 50w wireless charge, 90hz screen, and encryption methods then dumped it to the trash.
