Android 4.2.2 Security settings "Allow unknow sources" missing on 2016 Honda Civic - Android General

Android 4.2.2 Security settings "Allow unknow sources" missing on 2016 Honda Civic
Hi,
I have a 2016 Honda Civic LX (US/Canadian model) with Android 4.2.2.
I successfully enabled the Developer Mode with this methods:
- Go to HOME > Settings > System > Detail information.
- In the Android Settings window, click About.
- Click the Build Number seven times exactly.
- Now you will see the Please enter a passcord prompt.
- Click the top 4 items in order 1, 4, 2, 3 and you should unlock the developer mode.
Click to collapse
But, even with the developer mode activated, I didn't find the setting to allow unknown sources.
So I'm still unable to install .APK files, such as: Honda Permission, Waze, etc.
Can someone help me to figure how I can enable this setting and install .APK files ?
Thanks in advance,
Marc

root htc one mini 4.2.2?

Hello, how do i root htc one mini on 4.2.2? Tried oneclickroot but not working....???
Did you enable USB debugging before using One Click? It's hidden so you have to go to Settings > About device > Build number and tap on Build number 7 times until you will see a message “You are now a developer”., then go to Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging and enable it.

Just got my HTC one Mini yesterday and USB debugging was already enabled. I did however have to tap the build number 7 times to be able to change it if I so chose to.

Samsung Flow: Failed Registering Fingerprint ROOTED

Hi all!
I am trying to get Samsung Flow to work with my Windows 10 Pro laptop but I keep on getting stuck at the Failed to register fingerprints part and I can't seem to get passed that screen no matter what (registered) fingers I use.
Could it be because I'm Rooted and using a custom ROM + kernel?
Thank you!
I am having the same issue on rooted a5 2017
Pls help!

Are you on the Creators Update? I believe I read you need to be on it for it to work or that might have been to sync between your phone and PC. Could be Know is tripped and it needs a secure login to work.
i'm on creators update (build 16237) and use a NON rooted s8+.
i get the same error, so there must be something else wrong!
A. For Windows Pro > enable secondary authentication

2. Enter "gpedit.msc" and press enter key
3. Go to the "Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Microsoft Secondary Authentication Factor -> Allow Companion device for secondary authentication"
4. Double-click the "Allow Companion device for secondary authentication"
5. Select "Enabled"
6..Select search box on the Windows task bar.
7. Enter “gpupdate /force” and press enter key
B.The phone return an authentication error code.(my phone was rooted and registered the fingerprint after reset to defaults)

I'm having the same problem on my g935FD (Galaxy S7 Edge Duos, exynos) I walked through your steps to enable secondary authentication but still got the same error. I also have rooted and installed a custom rom. Do I need to restart my phone/computer?
I'm not sure what the second part of your message means. Do you have to reset your phone?
I tested with two phones(S6 Edge and Note 5), both with root, the registration issue on both, fingerprint scan fail in Windows side.
After I reset one to factory settings (only wipe cache partition does not work) with unroot complete (My Note 5), the registration of the fingerprint in PC worked very well.
Debug log can be sent to the developer:
[How to collect Samsung Flow logs]
1. Download "SamsungFlowLogCollector" , unzip
2. Launch "SamsungFlowLogCollector.exe"
3. Check the "Turn on/off logging" check box.
4. When "The reboot is required to take effect." popup show, select the "Yes" button.
5. Restart your device.
6. Reproduce the problem steps. Launch Samsung Flow. Try to register device.
7. Launch "SamsungFlowLogCollector.exe" again.
8. Select the "Collect Logs" button.
9. Uncheck the "Turn on/off logging" check box.
10. Share the created file(.sfel) to developer..
I'm on a galaxy s6 (7.0) rooted with magisk. I also get the same error .I tried to use magisk hide but this does not seem to matter.
register fingerprint fails with rooted phones!
For rooted devices the only way to register is:
1.Delete fingerprints saved on mobile device.
FLOW apps > Try to register device (without fingerprint)
2.After device has successfully registered with CDF (companion device framework), set it back a fingerprint to unlock phone.
Logging into windows is possible if the mobile device is unlocked- with fingerprint.
Tested with:
Windows : Samsung Flow app v.2.0.79.0, Driver v.2.0.1.6
Android: Samsung Flow v.2.0.41
sorry 4my bad english

[SOLVED] MTCE GS 3.07 settings entries missing, clock does not work properly

My device info:
Build number: rk3368-userdebug 9 PQ2A.190205.003 eng.hct2.20190411.192110 test-keys
Kernel version: 4.4.167
MCU version: MTCE_GS_V3.07_3
In settings menu I don't see lot of std android settings (probably hidden for normal user).
I would like to enable split screen (it is disabled by default - 7 inch screen), but I can not enter developer options.
Standard android way with tapping build number is not working.
I also tried apps (e.g. "developer options) but it does not work - it shows "First enabled developer options".
I also tried rooting (simple way) with code (*#htc#root#) in factory settings, and with kingoroot. It does not work.
Do I need use adb for that?
Additionally clock is not working properly. After vehicle shutdown signal - radio is falling a sleep. After wakeup it looks like time freeze.
If I activate GPS time adjust it makes clock late 30 minutes.
If I activate internet time update it makes clock late 1h - probably because of winter / summer time switch, but I don't see that setting (also hidden).
Any help would be pleasent
I would try to change to stock rom.
But Im not sure if that would be even possible if I do not enable developer options first and next usb debug to access adb and flash mode.
Maybe it could be done by MCU update file? somehow make it to change system configuration?

for what vehicle is that HU ?
i have same for opel, and have problems with stering wheel buttons, when i press next or back button it react like i press it 2 or 3 times :/
do you know how to enter recovery in that unit? maybe flash other MCU file ?
It is my device
https://xtrons.com/renault-megane-iii-fluence-android-9-0-pa79mg3rip
For me wheel buttons work well.
However try to check factory settings
Settings > Factory settings > enter code (126 in my case) > Keys
I have there option to change CAN bus to proper vehicle model.
Unfortunetaly I don't have experience with flashing such devices. Until now I was flashing only smartphones.
There were lot of tutorials how to do that. For Android auto HU I dont know even how to start.
For smartphone you could enter recovery by adb, but first you need unlock USB debugging. If you have access to developer options you could do that - that is not my cas.. sadly.
EDIT:
I found solution for time issue

EDIT2:
Better solution
1. Get root
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76725981&postcount=740
2. Use that app

EDIT3:
1. Malaysk ROM!!!
Clock work without any problem, I have split screen on my 7 inch device

If you are using Windows 8/10, you must disable driver signature enforcement in order to be able to flash a firmware. All tools are chinese based so they are usally not signed

Or open start menu, click power button and hold SHIFT and click "Restart"

To get a firmware for your specific tablet, you can contact technical support via email. See the page https://denver-electronics.com/consumer-support/upgrades-firmware//
I no longer own denver tablets. I'm not sure if they still offer firmwares even discontinued products, they have changed a lot

Question USB Debugging Security settings >×The device is temporary restricted 3-2 (not 3-3!!)

Hi,
I m trying to enable "USB debugging (Security settings)" on my Xiaomi Fold 2 in developer options but I keep getting the notification "The device is temporary restricted 3-2".
I already tried to disable wifi and try it via mobile data but no luck. Also tried it via a China VPN but also this does not work.
Some more info:
The notification is NOT 3-3 but 3-2 (on Google all there is is information about 3-2)
My model is 22061218C
No root
MIUI 14.0.9
Any thoughts?
