Hello all... Was following the guide here to rebrand my mate 9 using HWOTA8 method as I was already on Android 8. However got to an issue on step e where now under fsstboot it shows phone locked and shows FRP locked.
This happened after flashing the different OEMinfo.bin which now my device is a different model. Was Chinese model mha-alc00.
Is the anyway to flash my original OEMinfo.bin file without having TWRP?
Can you boot phone to system?
Yes, I can.
Then just go to Settings -> About -> tap Build number a few times until the Developer toast appears. Go back, tap on Developer options.
Enable OEM unlocking.
Boot to fastboot (FRP should now be unlocked), unlock bootloader again then continue.
Unfortunately, I have tried that but OEM unlocking is greyed out and says underneath it connect to the internet or contact your carrier.
And since the OEM unlocking is greyed out, it won't accept the fastboot relock command with my unlock code to lock the bootloader or even unlock it again.
Could i use the FF method on my PC with hisuite to download and revert back to stock? I tried it with FF on my phone and doing in the app but it always fails in recovery at like 6% when trying to authenticate. I'm guessing that has to do with the fact that the oreo version is still an online-update and not offline-update under the package.img.
Would the offline dload file of the mha-al00 work and it would revert me to Nougat? Or would that just mess it up?
Or anyway to spoof the region on my phone and maybe erecovery would work to download and restore over wifi?
Did you connect to WIFI/mobile? Mine was clickable after connecting to wifi. Didn't even add google account.
Yep, I have. Made no difference. I even tried to disable the find my device services and reboot but no change. Also even went as far as signing in with my google account and remote factory resetting it to see. No change, unfortunately.
Did you try a factory reset?
I don't think dload AL00 will work as oeminfo.bin is not AL00 now.
To what cust were you going to rebrand to?
I tried the factory reset from recovery and inside the settings. No change at all, unfortunately.
I also tried the one after dialing the code in the dialer but that one fails.
I believe I'm screwed, as I was trying to rebrand to c567 (US) and since I see there is no service ROM (offline) for that one. Ugh....FML
Although my baseband version seems to be the same and not changed. Don't know if that helps or anything.
Yeah dload didn't work. Just failed at 5%.
I guess if I want to properly fix this I have to use funkyhuawei to rebrand or dc-unlocker maybe to repair/change the vendor/model, etc? I would obviously rather not resort to paying methods but if I needed to. However, all of the main functions still work so its' not like I'm stuck, until updates don't come out for it.
I have as some problem here, did you solve the problem?

Failed attempt to downgrade from B330 to B211:
Model: L29C636B330
- Got to eRecovery, but wifi can't find anything
- put B330 on SD card dload but 3-button reset only bring me to a EMUI menu with Reboot, Wipe data and Wipe Cache options. Cache wipe could finish (seemingly), wipe data would quit midway, sometimes in a couple of seconds, sometime longer. EMUI logo turns to red exclamation mark
- fastboot works... however, phone is locked (I suppose that means bootloader locked?) therefore, fastboot flash is not working. adb push file - device not responding.
This phone is all stock with no prior rooting/bootloader unlock. Except for using FF to get to B330 - to be fair, B330 worked fine.
I did not bother to get the paid unlock code (should I?), as from I what I read, it probably won't oem unlock because I did not have the dev option enabled prior, and I can't seem to wipe the device either.
Pardon my repost while this thread is still fresh... https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3563299 because I have not messed with 3rd party tools yet and I want to make sure people can respond to my case specifically. Though it is worth noting perhaps that this could be caused by B330?

Thanks. But nope. I am already in brick mode. The 3-button reset did not seem to pick up this rollback package in the SD dload folder and showed the aforementioned wipe data menu instead.

No. Because DC-Unlock seems to assume access to phone and enable USB port for "manufacturer mode". My phone is in bricked as described in my original post. I guess my only options are to see if Huawei will give me the key still or RMA the sucker?

Since you are still in bootloader locked. You might try to ask huawei service center to make your phone functional again. That if you bought your phone at your region. Or else request bootloader code via huawei website.

Why did not you save the code to the PC?
One should in any case

What code Read my original post. I had no intention to mess with custom OS so I never unlocked my bootloader. For the record, I used to build my own kernel and mess with custom OSs all year long, but as Android matures I don't see much of that need anymore.
You do have a point though, I trusted Huawei too much. Should have obtained the code ahead of time regardless.

Power of the phone. Now press power button and volume down simultaneously. It will boot to erecovery then select the first option.
You're missing a data_hw_XX.zip package for your region. Not a big deal. It happened to me when I didn't understand how to flash software to our phone and once when updating through FirmwareFinder. Give us more details regarding your phone (which region is it) and how this happened and we'll help you.

you have many options:
factory reset again (which may not solve tthe issue)
or
unlock bootloader> install twrp> install any 3rd party keyboards zip (search in the xda, you might get any)
or
try to connect your phone to pc and check if adb is working, if yes, follow the procedure:
1. download any 3rd party keyboard app and rename it as keyboard.apk and place it inside sdktools folder
2.open command window and type the following command
Code:
adb install keyboard.apk
now reboot your phone and try , you might have your keyboard
(ask me if you have any doubt regarding this procedure)
or
you can even do a complete firmware flash of update.app through dload method (easiestt of all the above methods, but you will lose all the data inside your internal storage)
I solved, i reinstalled b131 firmware and keyboard appears, i bypassed google verification and i make the updates, now it s working good, thx all.
Can you help me to unlock bootloader without appear me FRP Lock and the Enable OEM Unlock to appear grey again?

I'm hoping someone will advise me. My Honor 8 FRD-L04 is soft bricked. I did or tried to do a factory reset, had originally TWRP, the bootloader is in Relocked status, not unlocked like I want it, I did the dload process with the only thing that would load which was the Rollback from Huawei, now I can't input information on the setup screens because all I get is the stupid Google Voice. PLEASE HELP ME.
UPDATE: Never mind I fixed it. I'm not really for sure how either but I think it mainly was just persistence.
So here's my condition- (FRD-L02C675)
no google services and huawei apps
bootloader-locked
FRP-locked
dload-doens't works(idk why)
factory reset by any method does nothing
OEM unlock- Greyed out
Can't use DC unlocker because can't access the "projectmenu" through dialler hence can't enable manufacturer mode
So I read that DC pheonix can "write firmware in fastboot with bootloader and FRP lock condition"
Can anyone Guide me as to what should I do? I am currently on EMUI 8 and want to downgrade to Android 6.0!

Read the guide in the DC-Unlocker site. it will be sort 3 different methods to unlock/flash firmware and recover your phone.
I used it three times to bring back my phone to life.

Hello, i ordered my pixel 4a from google shop without sim-card or carrier lock.
Now i want to reset my phone (download and flash firmware) but it dont work.
I tried it with "https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/" website but the problem is that it tells me always that the carrier i selected is not the same on my device!????
(selected "other" country and "other" carrier, but it doesnt matter if i select my country and one of the two aviable carriers, it gets me always the error massage)
What is the problem?
(bootloader is locked and i had an prepaid sim recently used in that phone)
Try doing the first and second step in this guide:
[GUIDE] UNLOCKING, DOWNGRADING TO A10, TWRP, ROOT
Hello, I'm posting this guide for those (like me) who can't do without TWRP on their device. I'm providing only a step-by-step explanation. Credits to @nikamura for his kernel and TWRP...

It will get you to android 10. Then you can do the OTA to android 11.
I dont want to unlock my bootloader! (no offense)
On my old xperia device I was able with xperia companion to download and flash the firmware without problems.
Is unlocking the bl neccessary? hope not
You can unlock it, do the reset, then relock the bootloader - it's a simple switch in the developer options to lock/unlock the bootloader.
It's called "OEM Unlocking"- you can turn it on (unlock) or turn it off (lock bootloader)
I know, but I want just to reflash the original image, why it should be neccessary to unlock it for that?
I thought it just need to be unlocked for things like developer previews or custom roms not for official stock roms.

Part of flashing an image to a phone is to also flash the "boot" image, so the bootloader needs to be unlock.
Thats a good point, but i dont think that it is the problem.
The error massage says that the carrier of my device and the carrier i selected in "flash tool" is not the same, so i cant proceed.
I guess it would say something related to bootloader while i select my device if thats the problem.
Well, I have no idea about that https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com website - it does not seem like an official google website because I doubt google would add "with" to it's domain name.
So, I would try downloading the official images using the link in the SECOND step of the guide I listed above - because that is an official image from google directly.
Flashing a factory image is only for when you've had an unlocked bootloader and been running custom ROMs or whatever.
You can factory reset the phone without flashing it.
Just go to settings -> system -> advanced -> reset.

It is an official google website as far I can tell, you can see it here google website but I was sceptical too at the beginning.

Sure but my question was about reflashing stock image (no offense).
I figured it out the problem was that I havent removed my google account before connecting to "pixelrepair".
After that I was able to select carrier and proceed.
But after that step it now shows "checking for problems" on repair software and on phone it says "waiting for command" until it quits after few minutes.
Anyone an idea why its not working?
(btw the flashtool and instruction never mention to unlock the bootloader so I guess its not neccessary)
After further testing (well actually I mean bricking my device a few times) it turned out that rebranding is not needed for the update from mm to nougat, although your device will boot into a "test" system instead (This is likely due to the vendor information being mismatched). Your p9 would still work with HWOTA7.
The original post has not been changed.
I got hold of an EVA-AL10 model from China. However it was still stuck on emui 4.1 Android 6.
Spoiler
After some research, I found out that Chinese internet was ridiculously unreliable and riddled with useless information, and the fact that most Chinese are tech-illiterate does not help either. Then I turned to good old XDA and found out a few (pretty obsolete posts) that had similar problems and got them solved. However, they all (unsurprisingly) involved the European model (EVA-L0X), which had different firmware.
I then got in contact with a former Chinese colleague. With his help, I managed to send an email to Huawei China and get a representative. After giving him his phone number and all information in the about section of the phone (IMEI and stuff) they took an entire day only to phone him back saying he needs to go to a repair shop. They told him that the oldest version of EMUI available for update was for emui 8 (Android 8) so that was a dead end.
After more searching, I stumbled across a thread about rebranding an European model into the one I got to get to, ironically, emui 8.
Spoiler
According to a Chinese nationalist blogger, it turns out that Huawei severely displeased our international community due to halting the provision of bootloader unlock codes, and they dicided to get us back by not updating us to emui 8. Although there might be more reasons than that, the fact is clear that they had to change their model.
Luckily, XDA is the perfect platform to find help.
Spoiler
Although the in-house search engine is relatively good at dealing with the Chinese e-thefts which take the hard work of this community and sell it shamelessly in China,
a fair amount of time was taken to Google search, however it was definitely worth the effort. Soon, I drew out a simple flowchart to update my p9:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Rebrand the phone to European model
3. Update to Android 7
4. Rebrand back
5. update to Android 8
(6. Do cool stuff)
Unlocking the bootloader is now a hard part for some. (make sure you have backed up your data on the phone because it will do a factory reset)
Spoiler
While unlocking services here are mostly genuine, it is 75% scam in China. My friend maaged to get my bootloader unlocked from a (crazy) shopping site in China named Taobao, which is well-known for selling fake sneakers and even Uranium. It only costed me two dollars.
Make sure to keep the unlock code. You need it later. If you forgot your unlock code but have it unlocked, no worriess. You can root your phone (I used good old supersu) follow this guide (the commands are the important part, I personally have not verified this method though)
You can also try this tool:
Huawei Nova 2 Plus Bootloader Unlock (Solution)
Hello Developers! I have found an easy way to unlock the bootloader of our Huawei Nova 2 Plus. No need to use Testpoint or pay for software to unlock. it is an Python Script which would brute force the code through the IMEI number you have...
forum.xda-developers.com
However it was intended for another device so your luck may vary.
After that, I used SRKtool to rebrand the phone, although the software of the phone itself has not changed. Keep in mind after the rebrand not to reboot into the system, as it will cause an error. (see below post) If you do manage to get into the system unfortunately, it will ask you for your password (bootloader unlock code) Do not enter the code, shut down your phone and get into fastboot by holding down power and volume down WHILE cable is attached to computer.
After trying hard to get into TWRP, I used this guide to boot into it (turns out I was not quick enough)
I then used this file to update it to the European android 7, which worked perfectly. You do need to enter the unlock code again though, and you need an SDcard or an USB disk that supports OTG(so the device can recognise it in twrp).
After that, you can follow this guide to get it to Android 7 Chinese version(399). I got my friend to set up a vpn connecting to China, where the Chinese system recognized that it could update to android 8. If yours does not, follow the guide to update it to android 8. It already contains the firmware, so do not download other firmware (unless you prefer). If you already got the firmware, use the androidfilehost link he provided and find in the older versions V1.1, which did not have the firmware to save time (and possibly bandwidth)
You will have your bootloader locked at this stage. If you want to stay on the Chinese firmware (Which has a lot of bloatware and needs you to manually sideload playstore apk) do not unlock it. If you do want to go further and install a custom treble GSI, go ahead and unlock the bootloader, and follow the instructions,
Error after force rebranding location with SRKtool:
After using SRKtool to rebrand, your system boot warning will turn from unlocked to unverified (text color orange to red)
If you continue to boot, it will go to a screen where you have to enter a password (the bootloader unlock code) you should not enter the code.
If you still proceed to enter the code, you will be "greeted" with a message telling you that the data on your phone is corrupt and you have to factory reset. after you boot into the OS, you will see this "mix" of the classic nexus 2012 style wallpaper with some android app icons (such as settings) in the aosp style, with everything else that are Huawei-branded seen in 2012-style icons. This has to do with a theme engine bug.
In the about page you might also notice that the system version has been slightly changed. the "al10" part has been deleted but the c00 still remains. The page where the CE and FCC stuff are displayed (forgot precise wording) now lists the phone as "eva-l09"
Go into settings and developer options as usual. You should now see that there is an oem unlock opion that has been toggled off. turn it on.
Reboot into fastboot again. You would see that most commands you would usually use such as flash recovery and erase would not work anymore(returns command not allowed) This has to do with the bootloader locked although it technically unlocked. Unlock it as you would normally do. If this does not work, reboot and turn off oem unlock, go to fastboot and enter the unlock command (it would obviously not work but it registers that wants to be unlocked), reboot and turn on oem unlock again and reboot into fastboot, then you should unlock the bootloader and flash recovery again.
