[NEWS]Official Android Nougat update coming to Mi 4C

Heads up guys. Official MIUI based on Android 7 will be coming to our device. Just like the MI3(and MI4?), Xiaomi decided to skip an Android version which totally makes sense for obvious reasons.
From the official Xiaomi English forum:
A very good news for all Android version lovers and geeks ! The Product Manager of MIUI, Ranger has just*revealed on his weibosaying that Mi 4c to be upgraded to Android Nougat very soon ! Let me translate the whole Chinese sentence to all of you.
Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi Note Pro and Mi Max will be upgraded to Android N soon. Please download MIUI Forum app to obtain the latest information and updates.

Big question is when. Anyhow, not really excited as the MIUI skin makes Android OS barely noticeable.
EDIT: Forgot to add the link to the source: http://en.miui.com/thread-439882-1-1.html

as long as kernel driver is shared to dev, then good news. otherwise, i won't even touch MIUI again.
Thank you for the great news, but for what I know from Xiaomi, I'll belive when I see it.
I think miui is Rubbish,so i Like RR or CM or MK(AOSP,AOKP)at all
I'm looking forward to it. I have no problem with MIUI as it is fast and delivers the best camera results. I believe Nougat will have much better battery life than Lollipop. Also, Mi5 nougat users noted that mpdecision was enabled. Hope it's the same for 4c!

I'm pretty sure that won't happen because they released a version of the source and further updates are not required by the Linux licence from what I know.
Miui is on the don't touch list for me ... (Yuk!)
At least we'll have proper/updated vendor blobs & baseband to use on our custom roms.
Hmm... Just wait for it... Probably its coming when Android M announced..haha (random guess).
For now they (xiaomi) support latest OS on latest device too...
All we can do just hoping for old device to get Latest OS..
Hello !
Question is:
What will "Teh Scene" make out of it.
SMIUI= global Rom, and company. If the obtain it, I will give it a try.
Miui 9?
Good news

Great news! But I'm not sure if that will make a difference to MIUI 8. If it's MIUI 9 on Nougat then I'll probably try it.
I hope they will release kernel, so devs could make custom Nugat roms, that have good driver and kernel base.
Then I will order one more MI4C with 2GB of ram for 100$
Good news. But i hope improvement camera too. Because imx258 in mi4c is not powerfull. ?
i couldn't believe it actually, i had to double check when i saw it on gsmarena. that's excellent news ! i wouldn't expect this kind of support. i only hoped for some marshmallow back in the summer and that's all. however, i believe the update should at least improve the atrocious standby power draw and the camera's low light abilities, even the cheap p9 lite with a dated im214 does better in low light. i would also love some long exposure options.
Yesterday there was no weekly update for mi4c is published, so they are working on Android N for mi4c for sure...

Thanks. Yup, official word: "1) Update for Mi Note Pro, Mi 4c, Mi 4S suspended because we’re working on MIUI based on Android 7.0."

Thing is, MIUI is rubbish. UTTER rubbish especially after they introduced MI-Cloud (iCloud spoof) feature to their phones.... Im never going back because my phone appears to be MI-Cloud locked while I have no idea who and what has possibly the resetting feature for this. I cant even upgrade to MIUI 8 due to this crap lockout feature.

I had no problem with smiui and mi-globe too. I think mi-globe based on nougat will be awesome generally because lollipop is such a bad Android version compared to MM and N

No custom rom for this device REDMI Y2/S2....

May I request developers to make custom ROMs for this device...
Because there are literally no ROMs available.
Flashing GSIs are an option but then again even GSIs are unstable and buggy.
Maybe you guys could just add some features to MIUI ROMs which include maybe customising text, accent, etc. Like other ROMs(or GSIs) have(generally)?
(By modifying files and all.... I'm not a dev and thus have no clue how to do this sorry :crying
This would be really appreciated!
Anyways I have Redmi Y2 arm32 ysl and I have tried ViperOS and AOSP... Both have many glitches and (I apologise)are not fit for normal use.(like volte not working, random reboots etc.)
The reason why I am not posting this in the respective rom forum is ( I don't have enough posts ) the devs have so much to do.. So many devices and all and I believe that if some modifications be done in MIUI and released as a rom it would be so much better!
Thanks for reading this full!!
If you are a dev and good enough (just kidding) may I suggest this idea.
Thanks is advance!!

Pixel Experience goes pretty well and almost without fail
AOSP 9.0 is the one I'm using now and with the exception of MusicAX, everything works fine
On Miui, you have the rom of Xiaomi EU, which go very well, they are also Miui Pro or MiRoom, which also work very well
Peak was with the development of lineage 15.1, and I hope it will soon release a functional rom for the YSL
It's true that it does not have as much development as other Xiaomi models, but with the GSI I'm pretty happy
Here I leave a link, so you can try the Rom that I have told you:

8.1/9.0 bugs ???
trying to build Lineage 16 for mine, will report back if I have any success!
MIUI sucks, it's full of adware and who-know-what-else.
my device is the ysl global version, TWRP has some issues apparently. the data partition won't mount and the recovery partition seems to get reverted back each time MIUI boots, but if you 'fastboot boot' your twrp.img file it will boot it via USB.

I'ts possible to soft modify the EMUI stock rom?

Hi, well what I would like to get is something like xiaomi.eu does with MIUI, but I don't know if that's possible with Huawei.
In my own situation, I have a mediapad m5 lite, and it miss multiuser mode and also have a bug with persistent notifications that cannot be hided without external apps, so I would like to extract the firmware and tweak these things by myself (because it is a low support tablet, both by huawei and free developers in XDA). Any help? Thanks
I have a mediapad m5 lite, and it miss multiuser too
Any help or ideas???

Treble ROM discussion and Phh-Treble Wiki Page

Hi everybody. I filled out a wiki page for our device in phhusson's Treble wiki.. I'd appreciate if people clarified it even more and filled it with more info. The page contains link to solutions for Camera, NFC and offline charging
Feel free to discuss anything about Treble ROM experiences and tips to make life easier.
Andyan's LOS17 based on Android 10 booted for me, but there is camera issue, not tested that much, RILL works perfectly.

Which build, the latest ones right?
The newest Q builds mention fixes for VNDK 26 devices, will give it a try...
EDIT: not working
EDIT 2: Android 10 boots without Magisk, another SU solution will be required.

[ROM][Phusson GSIs] Phusson GSI Stability

Despite development seeming dead for this device, there is hope:Phusson's GSIs. Please can anyone who uses them or tests them report beck their device vendor (EMUI 9.1/EMUI 9.0/EMUI 8.0) and which ROM gave them success/failiure. Then the best ROMs can be shared amongst everyone.
Thanks in advance
On Github I saw a user named Foxanto who reported that fingerprint worked fine on HavocOS 3.2 but wasn't working in HavocOS 3.5
why dont you just use openkirin.net?
I just visited openkirin.net for the first time. Do all of those EMUI 9 roms work if you're on EMUI 9 on the Honor 9? Why aren't these ROMs posted here on xda?
Hi.
Somebody successfully installed this GSI? If yes, is fingerprint unlock and camera working?

Openkirin didn't work on my device, ended in a boot loop that I have been struggling to fix all by myself without any kinda help from their support team save one person whose information was basically generic like you can use any recovery among all the emui 9 and 9.1 devices, which I found out to be true, but I am still stuck on a boot loop. And, no I didn't meddle with or try to install a custom ROM like TWRP.
