1) It works on any treble enabled device.
2) You should download this version:

7/23 GSI RR isn't really a daily driver. Camera is not good. I tried Open Camera and it just flashed color to b&w and back. Picture quality was still poor. Bluetooth headphones don't work--audio doesn't come through. No VoLTE (of course). Probably other issues I didn't notice or forgot.

Xiaomi makes nice phones but they aren't considered development friendly. It might be a while before a few AOSP ROMs are available for the Mix 2S and there won't be as much development for this phone as for the cheaper Redmi models since those sell a lot more units.
The Mix 2 had global LTE bands out of the gate and because of that it was available on Amazon right away and was reviewed by tech sites that pointed out it was the first Xiaomi phone fully compatible with LTE in North America. There is official TWRP for the Mix 2, official Lineage and some other development although it is pretty limited.
For whatever reason Xiaomi did not do the same thing with the 2S. It initially came out with much more limited band support than the Mix 2 unless you purchased the 256G model which had global LTE support. There was also no announcement at launch that there would later be a global version so reviews in the west said the 2S was incompatible with North American LTE unless you purchased the most expensive variant and those reviews were never updated after the global model was released.
Because of this a lot fewer people (in North America at least) ended up purchasing the Mix 2S compared with the Mix 2.
The result is no official TWRP and no development so far even though the release of the Mix 3 is just around the corner.
Official LOS is apparently in development but there probably won't ever be a lot in the way of AOSP ROMs available for the 2S and the handful that are will be buggy because the devs will be auto-compiling those ROMs since they aren't likely to be using the 2S themselves.
The Mix 2S is probably never going to be a good phone to own if you don't want to run MIUI. Maybe Xiaomi's policies will change in the future but at the moment they seem to have no interest in encouraging third party development for their phones. They see themselves as competing directly with Apple rather than as an Android brand which is also the case with Samsung.

I used the official and the unofficial version found on XDA. Both worked fine for me, expect some minor flaws, some glitches as it's a work in progress.
I used it as a daily driver and for what I'm using it it's working just fine.
I'm on pixel experience now and it's really good too, will stay with it for now.
RR has lots of customizations that's where it shines. As I don't need all the features and prefer a clean AOSP near experience I switched to PE.

Yes, go to the Project Treble section of XDA. It's available there.
It works, but Bluetooth and some dedicated functions seem not working. And it is so stable, especially if you rely on Xposed and Magisk for daily use.

Bluetooth is broken on all GSI Treble ROMs for this device. The Mokee ROM posted in this forum is actually stable enough for daily driver IMO. Just make sure to follow the instructions in the thread from Hyapatia.
Every ROM is available for OnePlus 3/3T , 5/5T but none of the roms are available for OnePlus 6, even the new roms which arrive are available to only them but not for OnePlus 6, is it due to the A/B partition?

I don't fully understand the situation but it is weird that devs got devices to work on yet all we have are Oreo-based custom roms ( which make no sense to be used since OOS provides pretty much same stuff along with proprietary and better OOS features, I won't even mention the already fully functional Pie GSIs ), mods for stock roms and an overwhelming number of custom kernels only for stock Oreo and custom Oreo roms( instead of having one or two, a ton of people don't know which one to choose and it stings that the custom kernels can't be used on Pie GSIs ).
I doubt they are waiting for the Pie kernel source/vendor stuff as we won't see those for a while even after we get official global OOS Pie.
In the end, I'm perfectly happy with the HydrogenOS Pie Beta 3 and Pie GSIs which offer pretty much the same performance even without custom kernels.
I think devs are busy working on lineage os 16 sources. Just take a look at lineage os gerrit

I don't understand what you're trying to get at. There is only one commit on the los gerrit related to the oneplus 6 and that's an irrelevant one.
If you meant to say something like " the oneplus 6 devs are busy working on the general los 16 source", it's not true. Devs who usually work on general, not device-specific LOS are working on LOS 16 but that's all. We had one main dev working on LOS for the OP6 and they are either too busy with their lives or just don't want to do LOS16 at the moment.
There are even LOS 16 GSIs in the Treble forums, and other roms also have their GSIs, which means that the source is functional and can be used.
Could you suggest any pie gsi's available right now for OnePlus 6?

Pixel Experience is the best for me, but I'd recommend the HydrogenOS Beta 3 more. The Chinese bloat can be uninstalled easily since it's only in the data and you remain with pretty much clean Pie with extra goodies which can't be had on any other rom.
The only rom which might be able to compete with HOS is Havoc but that GSI won't boot on the OP6 no matter what.

Yea bro same, more than 2.5 years and still i get SOT of 6-7 hours.
Whenever i think of buying a new phone, i look at my p2 and i stop. Its still so smooth cuz of the ROMS and charges under 1 hour and 15 minutes.
This phone is the best purchase i ever had. So i want development to keep going on, atleast for 1 more iteration of Android. Then i'll maybe buy Redmi K20 pro next year cuz it'll also have good development in future.
@Erazor84 that's good news brother. But I'll wait for AOSP xtended Android-10 (if it ever comes)
Bcuz i used their Oreo build and now using pie, and i found them the best among all of'em.

My guess would be at least 2 more ROMs :fingers-crossed: one from @VladSor and second from @Fullbustah as they are consistent with porting/ developing the ROMs such as Havoc, Syberia, Bootleggers and POSP for P2.
But of course, we need a reliable vendor upgrade first.

Generic System Image (GSI) is pure untouched Android released by Google for treble enabled phones with a designated vendor partition.
Semi GSI (SGSI) is a customized GSI with features and name of a custom ROM and it can also be installed on treble enabled phones with a designated vendor partition.

The following url https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/development/rom-aosip-derpfest-t3981193 will give You access on this forum to the thread concerning AOSiP-10-DerpFest-Alpha-kuntao-20191009.zip which is the first alpha version of the first Android 10 custom rom dedicated to the Lenovo P2.
If You are interested in testing this Android 10 rom, just follow the installation instructions given on the first page of the thread.
If I well understood, I think that someone, maybe mikeioannina ?, should now be working on a Android 10 rom LineageOS 17. If this is the case, all we can do is to be patient.
You will note that from now on we must say Android 10 instead of Q as asked by Google. So, next year, the next version of Android will be Android 11 and not R.

Hello I've tried all of the versions on my KUNTAO, at the beggining very laggy now better, there are some ROMS which you can use w/out a problem if you can live w/out some of the features like the FP GESTURES OR AA CONNECTIVITY.
HAVOC 3.0 (NOT THE TREBLE VERSION) to me is the best option till this post furthermore I don't know.
CHHERS
So, We are half a year further from the last post in this thread, any news on the stability and performance of the android 10 rom's? Im right now on Crdroid Pie ROM and except fingerprint kicking the bucket everything is working flawlessly. Any stable and well performing 10 rom's out there, or should we wait a little longer?
Since there will be no official Android Q for our device, I hope there will be custom ROMs (ports) with Q. Especially because on s9 and s10 official Q was released already. The idea is to collect and exchange information about Android Q ROMs for s8 and s8+ .
m.
Im also waiting for any info about Q, I'm a S8 owner myself, would help with testing if necessary.
My OS is currently the RiCE 15.0, it works almost flawlessly, but I'm always into new technologies, I need only the Viper Audio in my OS, because I've got Sennheiser True Wireless Momentum headphones, and it improves simply a lot of things there for me.
And the smartphone itself is great, just the battery life could be a bit better.
Yep, I agree! We have a great HW but the battery life, at least at the stock ROM, isn't the best ... . I'm really curious about Q on s8 and I'm sure sooner or later there will be some.

yes, I have. it has some bugs like random reboots and also there is the fact that some gsis just work very well, while other don't even boot up. I have used pixel experience gsi based on Android 10 and it was overall pretty stable, stable enough for daily use.

For Op 9 and 9 pro finish
"Evolution X" I love the customization it has. Which is why I haven't updated to 12 yet lol. I will sometime. Love the rom though
Personally, DerpOS, which has both OP9/Pro support. Make sure to check out the pro XDA forums, as you'll be able to find many new ROMs outside of just on here.
I used to run EvoX, which is a very good A12 ROM, but when compared to others, isn't updated as much (I believe it's still on the Feb patch). I haven't heard much of when it's planned to be updated, as it's still migrating between maintainers at the moment.
A12.1 builds for the OP9 are limited unfortunately, as LineageOS 19, at the time of writing, is the only "official" one I know of, which you're able to do if you're happy flashing GAPPs.
However, many ROMs have A12.1 working in testing, though not officially released yet. Hopefully you'll see them pop up within the next few weeks, once they've passed their maintainer's QA checks, though I can't speak on their behalf (they'll be ready when they're ready). I'd personally be comfortable in flashing either one of these, as their developers seem very dedicated to supporting the device into the future:
StagOS, DerpOS, DotOS
StagOS in particular is also the only ROM I know of that are working on OOSCam. It seems their progress is coming along well, but you won't find it in any of their public builds as of yet.
As mentioned by a couple of people earlier, though I'd love to recommend Nameless as it's a fantastic ROM, it isn't being maintained at the moment. CrDroid for the Op9, though on paper is maintained, hasn't been updated for a while and the developer has been somewhat MIA. Love to see either come back though.
Personally, I'm still undecided. I saw that someone had problems with the Evox and with the derp very draining of battery. I would be tempted for StageOs ... but I'm still on oxygen 11.2.10.10 even if my device offered me the update to Android 12 C47. However if I do it I cannot flash rom!

Personally haven't had any issues with derp, though I did notice evox had a few weird bugs with material you in the latest update. To each their own, I suppose! OOS11 is still quite good, although I really do like the theaming in a12.
I have flashed all the roms possible. Stag and Evo are pretty gnarly, but I keep it stock OS rooted on 10AA because for some Reason, PuBG is not as smooth on any roms as it is on Oxygen, plus its like the Read-Ahead is way better. Everything Renders in much faster. Like its almost already all there. The Roms arent like that.
I kinda wish someone would make a Gaming Specific rom.
Bone-Dry nothing to it.
