Best option for pocketable USB-C power bank? - LG V30 Accessories

I'm looking for a quick charge power bank that would be comfortable to carry around in a pocket. Preferably one that supports USB-C. There doesn't appear to be very many options.
Here's a slim USB-C power bank that I really like the design of — https://www.ravpower.com/10000mah-portable-charger-Type-C-black.html — but there's absolutely no mention of quick charging. It also has a great warranty — 18 months that can apparently be extended for a lifetime.
However, this is the only one I could find that explicitly mentions QC 3.0 support, has USB-C, and is pocketable — https://www.amazon.com/Portable-ROMOSS-10000mAh-Resistance-Qualcomm/dp/B072X5PCV8 — but I'm not familiar with the brand and it would only be a 12 month warranty with that unfamiliar brand vs an 18+ month warranty with a more familiar brand.
Is the Romoss the one to go for or are there other options? Will the Ravpower still charge my phone quickly or should I stick to something that explicitly mentions QC?
Alternatively, I could just not worry about USB-C and go with Anker, who I'm pretty comfortable with and then I'd have a couple more options – either https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Upgraded-PowerIQ-Samsung/dp/B01NBQX0O5 or https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Anker-PowerCore-Qualcomm-Portable/dp/B01JIYWUBA. That would lead me to another question, though. Which is more pocketable and comfortable to carry? Compact but thick or tall but slim?

The guy from HighOnAndroid recommends this one:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079FPMCNF/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A38N3TNH1N2LMX&psc=1
It's a bargain at $14.99!
I've also been looking at this Omars one because I liked the LCD readout with the percentage charge:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C7XCMF8/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=AX0BPKZH3NYP4&psc=1
And here's another similar designed one from Mopo with the LCD readout of percentage charge:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DCNWWC8/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A147T9BP1STN3V&psc=1

i have the tqpa one for 14,99$ it has qc3 and charge my v30 in 1h30. regards

Honestly, I feel like this power bank from Anker does the job very well. Has USB-C charging along with two USB-A outputs to charge up to two devices at once.

Ok, that's a different thing.
That looks good, minus the fat design. For me personally, batteries that are thinner are preferable.

I keep a 6-port USB charger on my desk along with six different USB battery banks ranging from 3000mAh to 23600mAh. Most thin USB batteries that are "pocket-friendly" are going to be in the 5000-6000mAh range max, but my daily driver for USB battery charging is the 10000mAh Anker two-port charger with QC 3.0. It can charge my LG V20 from 10% to full in 1h30m a minimum of 3x before needing to be recharged itself, and it's only about the size of a pack of cigarettes and fits in my pants pocket next to my phone easily. My largest USB battery bank is so large you could actually beat someone to death with it and then connect the car charger alligator clips to jump-start your car and then drive home.

I don`t think you would be able to crank it long or hard enough to do any damage. My HTC hero and now my Desire S both require quite high power to charge properly so I would be surprised if it was possible to get any useful charge into a modern smartphone with a hand generator.
I have tried several of the (cheap)emergency chargers that run on AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries and none so far have been able to deliver more than a 20-30% charge before the voltage or current drops too low to continue.
The best solution I have tried for time away from the mains so far is a New Trent 5000mAH rechargeable battery pack from Amazon. They also do an 11000mAH version. These have 500mA and 1A USB outputs and claim to be able to charge an Ipad. My 5000mA one will do roughly 2 full charges plus a top up which is useful for a weekend away from mains power.
The price is however MUCH higher.

The outputs are standard full sized USB with a choice of current output so you can use the supplied cables or the USB cable supplied with your phone. HTC Android handsets are listed generally on that page and my own recommendation was intended to indicate the device works as advertised with the desire S

I have a charger that can fully charge the Desire S battery, costs about 10$ on ebay, so far the phone battery is still at 100% for a few hours with normal everyday usage, i find it good enough for me.
The charging rate is about 300mA and not 500 or 800 as published.
It would be wise to buy a micro usb female to micro usb male extender cable.

[Review 11/22] Ravpower 20100mah Type-C/QC2.0 External Battery Pack

Ravpower 20100mah Type-C & QC 2.0 Battery Pack
Overview: The Ravpower battery pack is supposedly the first USB Type-C battery pack out there. It charges the 6P using the USB Type-C standard of 5V/3A which is great because it’s the first true Type-C charger and battery out there not made by Google from what I have seen. I will compare the battery to the other ones I own which are just the regular QC2.0 standard and made by Aukey.
Ports/Charging:
The Ravpower features 4 total ports, now before you get carried away with the infinite possibilities of this I will first talk about what they offer.
Ports Comparison
Input Charging Ports:
There are 2 ports that can be used to charge the battery. The first is the conventional Micro-USB port. This port will allow you to have the battery with up to 24W, and is a good backup if you don’t want to charge it via USB Type-C. The next way the battery can be charged is via USB Type-C at 5V/3A (15W) which is slower than using a QC2.0 24W+ charger. I know there aren’t many 24W capable QC2.0 chargers but I have a 30W one made by Power Partners and it charges the battery a lot faster than my Type-C cable does.
Here is breakdown of the voltages/rates the battery can be charged at:
Output Charging Ports:
Type-C
The battery can charge up to 3 devices at once with its 3 output charging ports. The first and most relevant of these would be the USB Type-C port. It will charge the Nexus 6P/5X rapidly just as the wall charger would. I’ve had the battery for about 3 days now and it has been great! The USB Type-C port is reversible in terms of charging for this battery pack. The port can take 5V/3A and output the same 5V/3A to a phone so it cuts down on how many ports the battery needs.
USB Type-A QC2.0
This port features Qualcomm’s quick charge 2.0 standard and will quick charge any compatible devices at one of 3 voltages. The port can also charge the Nexus 6P/5X using a in spec Type-A to Type-C cable as you might expect. I have the iOrange cable and it will give me 1.5A as it should by the USB standard. I like the availability of a Type-A port because I can charge other devices from it while on the go.
USB Type-A iSmart Port
This is your standard 5V 2.4A USB Type-A port. There is nothing special about it in my opinion and they could have left this one out since the QC2.0 port also supports 5V/2.4A. It’s still there if you wanted to use it so I will leave it at that.
Here is a table of the output voltage and rates:
Battery I/O Rating Pictures
Design/Build Quality:
The design of the battery is nothing special, it’s a simple rectangle just like it should be. There is no reason to over design the appearance of an external battery as long as it gets the job done. I don’t mean this in a bad way at all because I like the simple design of it. There are 4 blue LED dots that indicate the battery level and they aren’t overly bright if you use it at night. There is a small button under the LED lights to turn the battery pack on or see its current battery level.
Let me get this out of the way: the battery is HUGE and might as well be a brick making up some old building in Philadelphia. With that being said the battery is solid but not too heavy overall. The battery is made with a plastic construction, but Ravpower does offer a 12 month warranty on it. I didn’t look to see what it covered, but I assume it should cover the standard defects but likely not physical damage. According to Ravpower these are the dimensions of the battery pack:
Here is a comparison between the 3 battery packs I currently have. (Aukey 10000mah Silver, Aukey 12000mah Black, Ravpower 20100mah Black)
Status Lights for each battery pack
What’s in the Box:
The battery comes with a mesh pouch to put it in while you are traveling about, but it has no extra pockets for anything else. There are also 2 micro USB cables included with the battery that can be used to charge the battery or a compatible phone. The flat style cables are nice and should be tangle free. I used one to charge my Bose QC20 (2015) headphones and didn’t have any issues. I would test them on another device, but I no longer have micro USB phones/tablets.
Dimensions
Overall 9.8/10
I’m enjoying the battery pack a lot and I think it’s worth the price right now. $47.99 isn’t bad for a 20100mah battery considering I have 2 Aukey ones (12500mah, 10400mah QC2.0 battery packs). The battery is big, but it has more than enough capacity to keep your phone/tablet alive for a few days at a minimum.
Here is a table comparing the Ravpower to the Google 22.5W Dual port Type C charger with different cables, I also tested my in spec Type A-C Cable using a 5V/4A charger

So I would still need to get another C to C cable to charge my phone quickly, or use the included A to C at a lower speed?

You cna use the C-C cable that comes with your phone to rapid charge your phone. Any USB A-C cables are limited to 1.5A by design so it won't rapid charge with a Type A that is inspec. Out of spec ones might but its not worth the risk

Yes you need a C-C cable to rapid charge at the 5V/3A but you can charge slower with a Type-A to Type-C which will give you 5V/1.5A. The monoprice C-C USB 2.0 cable is inspec according to Benson so I would get that one. It's ~$13 I believe.

I have this same charger. 70% off my town has been with out power for the past 3 days (including my house) and this thing saved me a few times already. I can fully charge my phone almost 6 times on 1 charge. It may be big but it charges fast and many times. I dig it
Just bought one today via Amazon with same day shipping! Question - can I charge my phone via USB A-C cable and simultaneously charge the battery with the C-C cable?

Which Portable Power Bank?

Hello, im looking for a good portable power bank without solar charging (or with if it doesnt effect the price) and around 20-50k mAh capacity.
I'd like to not spend more than 20GBP and the product to be certified for safety reasons, im not feeling well to walk around like a jihadist
Thanks
If however, you have a long trip planned or lots of devices to keep topped up, then take a 20000mAh Power Bank. All the portable chargers featured in the list have a minimum capacity of 20000mAh and are capable of charging most phones over 10 times.
I like the easyacc 20000 power bank, coz it has increative two input, which can save half time for me to recharge it. And the four outputs with the smart technology, just like the anker IQ technology. It means whatever devices do you use, it can get you best power. So good for fast charging.

Unfortunately they don't ship to my country
The best charging banks are...
Anker PowerCore+ 10050: The World's Smallest 10000mAh Portable Charger with Premium Aluminum Shell and Qualcomm Certified Quick Charge 2.0 Technology (Black)
or
Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 10400mAh Portable External Battery Fast Charger (16.2W / 5V 9V 12V Supported, Quick Output) for S6, S6 Edge - Silver
The first one is very small for the size and battery mah, it has quick charge and top quality batteries
I'd highly recommend the anker powercore+ 26800
it has 3 ports, 1 that supports quick charge 2.0 (also known as Adaptive Fast Charge) and a 10-stage charge indicator. comes with a nice cushy mesh bag for carrying. 26800mah
on Amazon if you scroll down the page a little there should be a promo code to take off about 25% of the price. in the Specials and Promotions section
edit: DO NOT buy Aukey, they play tricks with the advertising on how much power they can put out, and operate components higher than they're designed for.

yep that's the one! highly recommend it. also I would suggest getting the Anker 6ft. gold plated nylon charge cord because the one that comes with the power bank is very short and won't tolerate much abuse from an incident like taking a full force tug from a hefty power bank being tugged further than the cord will reach. you'll want a tough charger.
I've liked the RAVPower Car Jump Starter power banks. I got one over the holidays on special and the dual purpose has saved me in a few different situations of either dead car or phone battery.
I own the AUKEY PB-T1 10000mAh with Qualcomm 2.0 support for input and output! That's a stunning power bank, highly recommended!
But today I would buy an "Quick Charge 3.0 RAVPower TURBO 20.100mAh Powerbank Qualcomm QC 3.0 Technologie USB-C/Type-C (5V/3A)" With two outputs and Qualcomm 3.0 input and output. Samsung Note 4 only use Qualcomm 2.0 but Qualcomm 3.0 is backward compatible with version 2.0.
Qualcomm 3.0 input should give the power bank an extremly fast charging time (30 min is advertised by the manufacturer).
Just wanted to chime in.
I got an EasyAcc Quick Charge 2.0 20,000mAh Portable External Battery
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0142925GQ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_u6k1wbQPDTWJ2
I love it! It has enough power to fully charge my phone and tablet every night for about 5 days. I recently went on a week-long business trip and I used it to charge my phone, tablet, 3DS and Vita. I only had to recharge the battery once the entire week.

The Perfect Battery Bank for a 6P

Hey XDA,
I have issues with buying technology because I am always looking for zero compromises. Been holding off on a battery bank for the 6P because i haven't found "the one"....
Wondering if anyone has seen any battery banks that meet all/most of these criterion:
USB C 3A Input/Output
Passthrough charging (charge the phone and battery bank in series)
6000 mAh or higher

Great find man! I been looking for something like this. Now if I can only find out if the 18650's are replaceable! Does it look like this box has screws to easily disassemble it ?
the battery pack i'm waiting for (hopefully not forever) is something with 3a fast charging that is more pocket friendly than anker/ravpower ~8000 mAH+
I bought this recently and its working great.

Not only does it support fast charging via USB C, it uses the USB C port to charge itself as well. This means the battery bank charges in about 3 hours which is quite fast for a 10000mah pack. With a full charge, I can charge my 6p twice.

I second this pack. It's a bit on the bigger side, but the added capacity is really helpful when you have to go off the grid for an extended period of time (read international flights), and the extra weight isn't that obvious if you just throw the pack in your backpack or purse, for our lady friends out there.
As for the screws, I don't think it has, and the 18650s aren't supposed to be replaceable either. But heck, the cells are of exceptionally high quality and rated up to 500 cycles, so you don't really have to worry about them going bad.

Not true, it DOES have true USB C fast charge as it gives you 5V 3A.

I stand corrected! Thanks for pointing this out. Last time I checked, it only supported pseudo fast charge (2.4A @ 5V)
I just got the Anker PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C and find it really good as well.

I just picked up the same, and I'm impressed so far. It came with a carry bag and 3 cables: A to Micro, A to C, & C to C. Capacity is 20,100 mAh.
Amazon link if you're interested. Will post a review after using it a while.
Dear friends,
Could you please share your experience with power banks so far? I'm looking for some to buy soon...
I bought the Xiaomi Power Bank Pro. It does have a USB type C socket.
Unfortunately that socket is to charge the power bank itself, so connecting the 6P via the USB type C actually drains the phones battery and charges the power bank from the phone. :-o
It does come with a USB A to USB C cable, but it does not quick charge the 6P.
Thanks for your answer, I've read that pressing POWER button on the bank while connecting to the phone could launch charging via USB-C socket - did you try it?

Hey XDA,
I have issues with buying technology because I am always looking for zero compromises.

O recently ordered the RAVpower 20,100mAh 3.0 one as there was a $10 off coupon code, but can understand the desire for something smaller and more pocket-able.
This is closest thing I was able to find that is pocket-able and, i think, meets your criteria. But no reviews and I've never heard of the brand:

Heck I now want one of these too, if they are actually any good....

So what are the differences between the Anker and the RAVpower?
Do they both support being charged at 5V/3A?
EDIT: That pocket-able one is kind of tempting - shame it isn't a more reputable brand
The RAVpower unite I ordered does both USB-C 5V 3A and Quick Charge 3.0 the Anker unite seemed not to (not even sure it did either, must where QC 2.0).

Battery pack with a few particular requirements.

So having had to get used to batteries that don't last long and soul crushing battery anxiety I've gotten into the habit of always having a battery pack with me. I am looking for a good one for my p4xl (hopefully arriving tomorrow).
What I'm looking for:
Thin while still having around 10000mamph
Same or slightly smaller footprint than the handset in a case.
As fast as possible charging
What I'd like but not deal-breakers:
Fast charging (or as fast as possible)
Usb output port in the middle so I can use as short a cable as possible.
Usually connect the two with command strips and have a finger clip so don't think wireless will work.
I have the AUKEY Power Delivery Power Bank 20000mAh, USB C Portable Charger with 18W PD and Quick Charge 3.0 Battery Pack and its about the size of the XL...

I bought this back in August, when they had a coupon knocking the price down to $11.

It's TINY, it offers 5000 mAH (which is enough for me), and supports USB C power delivery for fast charging. You can also charge the battery pack via USB C, which is great; I do not use anything that relies on a micro-USB any more. Plus, my wife can use the old-school USB port on the back to top off her iPhone.
Seidio had several listed for the P4s as well. Including a few that also offer wireless charging.
Sadly, the 10kmAh with a flashlight does wireless but only at 5W, not the full 10W the P4s can handle. But they may have another one that offers full 10W wireless charging. I asked by the contact page and received an email stating so, but it is unclear if they are referring to simply a wireless charger, or another of their power Banks:
”Thank you for contacting Seidio Online. Pixel 4XL is using Qi Fast Wireless Charging and our 10W wireless fast charger will support it. However, the 10,000mAh Wireless Charging Vault only support a regular 5W wireless charging.
Let us know if you have any other questions.”
All of these power Banks also allow direct USB-C charging as well.
