So I put CM6.1.1 on my Aria, i have a problems i want to put the gingerbread theme which i have and the google add on which i also have. I flashed the phone to CM6.1.1 and it works no problem, my problem is that for some reason it seems that i cannot both these on my phone, if i install CM6.1.1 then reboot then flash on the google add on it work no problem but then if i try to flash on the gingerbread theme after that the phone gets stuck in a bootloop, on the other hand if i install CM6.1.1 and then reboot then flash on the gingerbread theme it works no problem, then if i install the google add on it boots up but when it gets to the part were it says touch the android to begin it doesnt work. the android guy flashes when i press him but it does nothing it just keeps showing the hand pointing to him saying touch to begin, and no matter how many times i try it still gives me the same problems.
Can you not have these two thing on your phone at once or am i doing somehting wrong here?

Just replied to your post in the cm6 thread.disregard what I said since you've now given us a lot of extra information.
Yea I saw your reply and i figured id make a new thread on my problem since it was a lot more than just what i posted in that thread
anyone know how to fix this?
Toward the end of the gingerbread theme thread there is someone who did a repackaging of it that actually works. The theme author refuses to admit they packaged it in a way that doesn't work for everyone just because it works for him, but the repackaged zip works flawlessly without a bunch of extra dalvik cache wiping that only works for a few people. Go to the end of the thread and work your way back.

Ok.. The manufacturer finally release ICS for this tablet, it initially does not have gapps..... you need to install CWM and reboot into recovery through ADB... like i said you need to have CWM already installed!!!!! this works on ALL my tablets i just checked it out... it has market, gmail, and superuser. once it is installed you can access recovery by holding down volume:up and power until recovery shows up... ( before It could not be done)
here is the link and instructions for CWM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378594
here is my nandroid:
http://www.2shared.com/file/HInNxhH1/2012-02-13143731.html
(i had to strip out google talk, it kept on giving me problems..)
on a side note you need a external card to access the nandroid, put it in /clockworkmod/backup/
i haven't tested anything else, ie can not load youtube app and not sure about video playback... netflix only plays sound not video...
if this helped you hit the like button.. i am poor and i only do this when i have time and out of love for this great device and OS.... i am not responsible if your wife leaves you or a natural disaster happens in your area or you brick that sucker.... flash at your own risk...
thanks goes out to everyone that made this possible... maybe i will see if i can port CM9 but don't hold me to that..
Good job, I was actually going to post this today as well until I searched to make sure no one else had already done it. CWM works great with this now that the capacitive buttons work, now to do some modding so we can get cm9 running on it. I still can't get netflix apk to stream, the sound works but no video.
ya i know! that sucks... i need to try to get a youtube app and push it to see if it works.. but i really love it... i wonder if i can try the momo9 cm9 and see what works and go from there.. but school and work keeps me busy as hell!!!
Google Talk works for me with "newtech25_for_ics4.0.3"- script
Google Talk does not work with anything I tried. Tried a lot of patches and versions. Any ideas ?
Try to reflash manufacture rom then newtech25_for_ics4.0.3 script.
i used this one http://www.sappasit.go.th/android/newtech25_for_ics4.0.3.zip
but if figured out there is bug in calendar sync with newtheck script. talk works also with video no problems at all
The gapps package I installed from clockwork mod had youtube in it and it works fine so I have no idea why netflix wouldn't work on ics when it was fine on the stock gb firmware.
what was the gapps package you used?
At this point two main issues
Market does not show system apps.
Some apps (google), even if installed from the Market gives a android system stop responding...
Update
Errors were due to Gapps not properly installed...
Small issue though Camera photos are up side down ?! Can anyone test it for me as well? as this may affect skype video calling ie.
Last thing to sort out Full market support and flash...
my camera works fine on mine, and i restored on 3 of the same tablets... i am working on finding a working google apps i guess... but everything works on mine. Weird, but i will lool for another ICS google apps and then do another nandroid. thanks for your feedback..
Use gapps v11 from CM9. Just flash them from CWM.

Thanks for the answer.
I'm on 2.3.4 from 20120107 when i press vol+ and power i only get a triangle with exclamation point inside and an android icon but nothing else.
So i need to flash ics first and then use cwm to flash the nandroid with gapps, right?
Regards
Hey I was trying to install CWM into my F1 and I cannot run the given scripts. It says permission denied. Any way to work this around?
It needs root. The easiest way is with Unlock Root.

As far as I know, the device comes pre rooted. I tried to root it again with superoneclick and it says it is already rooted.

Very strange, sounds as though the digitizer at the top of the screen isn't working, if you run another app, like the browser are you able to access the address bar ie the top of the screen? try a drawing style application (ie Paint from PC) and see if you can draw at the top of the screen?

i have really done what you said ,, i can open browsers and write normally , even after rotating the device , i can touch the items from that area and it works
i don't know why that happened , also before the problem appear permanently , it was sometimes work and sometimes not
i was restarting my mobile think of ROM Bug , but it didn't work after that starting from yesterday
can this problem be caused by kernel 3 ( Sense 4 ) ??
but as i said i flash another ROM of Endy 3.1 with no luck !!
the fact that you've flashed multiple ROMs suggests a device issue?
Are you S-OFF or htcdev unlocked?
HTC DEV unlocked , and still S-ON
this will play a role on that ??

It could do, it will mean that you may still have the PRIMO kernel?
Have you been using the command
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
from your PC to flash the boot image (kernel) each time that you change ROM?
i have already flashed the boot.img and do that with any flashed rom
my suspect refer to PRIMO ROM , as the problem happened when i flashed it ,, is there anyway to totally remove anything related to this kernel ???
If you flashed the ENDYMION boot.img extracted from the ENDYMION ROM file then you should have done so....
It may well be worth, repeating what you've already done, just in case you made a mistake?....
Copying ROM (Endymion) onto SD card
Booting into recovery
Wiping/formatting ALL partitions (data/system/boot/cache)
install the ROM (flash the ZIP)
then use the fastboot flash boot command with the Endymion file.
just noticed something i want to say
when i try to wipe dalvik cache , a message appears every time
E:unknown voume for path [/sd-ext]
also i remember something , when i flashed PRIMO for the first time , and after boot a " Encryption unsuccessful " screen appeared .. can that help to know the root cause ???
that sounds related to your sd, have you another sd that you can use instead?
Swyped from my DesireS
sorry , i don't have another SD Card , but to be sure , i saved my data , formatted my SD card and partitioned it using recovery to 2048 MB and 64 swap , installed fallout and flashed boot.img
After all of that , also have no luck , i don't know if i should visit any HTC Store or i can fix it myself using any help from xda !!
I'm sure it's not related but you don't need swap on your sd on this device it has plenty of main memory
you could try service Centre
See if any one else on here has any input
Swyped from my DesireS
I have got my mobile fixed , it seems that the problem is famous in some of HTC Devices.
The Service Center has replaced the screen with a new one , and it's working normally now
Thanks alot
Ok... the problems started when i started with CM11 stable for my XT1032 (using clockworkmod in order to flash my roms and gapps).
First problem came with Wifi (it wasn't working..) tried many other roms and builds (CodeNameLungo, Paranoid, CM12) just to see if the rom was the problem... until i realized that the only way to fix wifi was to drag the file "WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin" into the persist folder though a file manager with root access, and it worked, wifi works now.
Now my problem is about the camera, everything works fine yeah, but the rear camera icon isn't appearing anymore, i have searched everywhere with no luck, and was wondering if anyone here in the XDA community have the same issue i have.
If anyone have any idea of what the problem could be, or if anyone went though this already, some help will be very appreciated :highfive:
Here's a picture that will explain faster what i'm trying to say.
Hi,
I will have your thread moved to your device section.
Good luck!
Hello.
My problem is that sometimes, when I receive a notification, ambient display turns screen on to show it (as it should do normally), but then, when it is supposed to turn screen off again, it only goes black, but the backlight is still on. It's hard to notice, but I don't want the backlight on, using battery, when I think it's off.
The only way to turn it off is by activating ambient display again (moving the phone, waving in front of proximity sensor, pressing power button), and then it would show my normal lock screen and then turn off, until "something" makes it leave the backlight on again.
Anyone have/had/knows this issue? I've used Mokee ROM, now I'm on RR and it happened on both, I don't remember if it happened in CM. Could it be something app related?
Thanks.
Yeah same happened with cm 12.1 latest nightly too.....just checked it now...
The Answer
Hi there !
When you have installed the custom rom, you have probably flashed directly from another custom rom , is this correct?
If so, it may be your phones drivers slightly messed up at the moment seeing as it has different parts from other roms, depending on how you flashed it.
My solution would be to flash the stock firmware , which can easily be found in the forums, and then flash twrp, then your rom of choice. If that doesn't work, its likely a bug in that specific build of the rom you are installing , seeing as another person who has replied has had the same problem .

That's strange! I guess it may be something like the drivers you said, because just one user said that have the same problem, but I'll have to wait until I have some free time to flash stock and root and flash CM and restore all apps and that again... I hate that part of installing another ROM.

Ok, I have spent some time thinking about this one for you, as I really want you to get this one fixed!
Although I need abit more information.
1) Does the issue occur on stock rom?
2)Are you sure it is not a problem with the build you are running?
3)What exact steps did you use to flash the rom?
To show that you appreciate my help so far, please click thanks

Thanks!
1)I can't tell if it occurs on stock, because on stock I use moto display (which doesn't have this issue).
2) I'm almost sure, because I've used 2 ROMs and both do the same. Maybe I'll have to try with CM nightlies?
3)I followed the guide in "general" section to flash stock using fastboot and android sdk. After that, I booted on stock, then rebooted to bootloader, flashed TWRP, entered to recovery, wiped data and then flashed RR ROM with it's gapps and then flashed moto camera and gallery. After that, wipe dalvik and cache and rebooted to system.
Right , ok. I recommend trying one of the cm12 nightly builds, seeing as they worked on my phone fine in terms of ambient display

Well, the other user that commented on this post was also using latest CM nightly, so I'm not very positive about it, but I may try it when I have time.
Well , looking at all of the information In this post , I think it is safe to say ambient display is not fully working on many roms :/
I installed a new build of cm12 earlier, and I found that sometimes the backlight will stay on , but other times it is fine.
If you want to work on this together, email me at [email protected] , and then we can look into it abit further ?
I will take a thorough look into the forums to see if others are recieving any problems as well .
