GUIDE WITH THIS VIDEO HOW TO FORCE COM 1.0 detection : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfaj_1dGRKw
I have been reading a lot of posts about BRICKED MATE 9 before trying to update to OREO, FRP lock and PHONE LOCKED(locked bootloder) and no one is giving solutions, now after weeks of searching and trying i found a solution gathering information from a lot of posts and thanks to DC-Unlocker/HCU Clients/DC-Phoenix.($19.00 dollars for 72 hours)
ok now THE SOLUTION <3:
1) first of all you have to buy license for dc-unlocker here: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy
2) when you have bought the license download this : https://www.dc-unlocker.com/download/soft.php?file=7JPrdoVQ
3) when download finish create a new folder in desktop ''DClient'' and extract .zip in there
4) open .EXE file called dc-unlocker2client and when it opens click on ''access support area'' (not necessary to be logged in)
5) Now on suport area look for DC-unlocker softwares>DC-Phoenix>DC_Phoenix_v50.rar>click on it and then click download button
6) extract dc_phoenix_v50.rar in desktop and open the program, it will ask you for credentials (emailed to you after purchasing license for 72 hours(3 days)
7)click on ''Download Files'' button and when your explorer opens, search STOCK FIRMWARE the one that comes flashed the first time you turn on your phone(mha-l09 or mha-l29) even if you rebranded it, for example MHA-l09_C185 (the one i used) you have to download firmware .app and hw.app
8) download factory firmware from here
http://www.mediafire.com/file/de139..._China_Nonspecific_Android_7.0_EMUI_5.0.dgtks
10) after that follow this GUIDE:
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/flash-bricked-huawei-phones-in-huawei-1-mode (for com 1.0) in case flash fails retry it, but in fastboot VL-d + power button
maybe you get a green screen with blue and red boxes, but dont worry its because you dont have vendor flashed, you can fix it with HCU client on ''repair UMTS'' tab
11) when you finish you can follow this video to rebrand your huawei to get rid of RND90m test- keys baseband error: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OywEYZ2cbw
12) you are all set, just follow HCU imei repair guide to fix IMEI, VENDOR, SERIAL NUMBER.

Hi friend heres a picture of testpoints location:
i dont know what testpoints are the only thing i know is that when you make a ''Bridge'' with the cable on both testpoints the PC will detect your hardbricked mate 9, if your mate 9 isn't hardbricked and its detected by the computer its not necessary to use testpoints.
watch this, so you will understand what i mean with make a bridge between 1st and 2nd testpoint

Excellent, all you have to do is:
go to HCU client> Enable Manufacture mode(dial *#*#2846579#*#*)>Repair UMTS tab> Country option (you have to check it)> then type ''EU'' and click REPAIR
I hope you still have time in HCU client friend i will be looking if you need something before your 72 hours ends.

OK, now i got it. It seems that you are forcing the CPU info BOOTROM mode, which allows a direct USB-SERIAL upload of the XLOADER into CPU SRAM, which initializes the SDRAM and loads FASTBOOT info SDRAM. After that you just use FASTBOOT for flashing the stock firmware.

yes i think, but it didnt worked with fastboot for me, i used DC-phoenix, it seems like with DC-phoenix you cand do whatever you want even if your bootloader is blocked, (when your mate 9 is hardbricked you cant open fastboot, DC-phoenix install fastboot, recovery mode and update mode with the factory firmware i uploader)
DC-phoenix bypass the update verification.

This is true, but the most critical information you have provided is about shortening the testpins.
This is the same as shortening 'Pin 1-2' in this document
https://github.com/96boards-hikey/tools-images-hikey960/blob/master/README-technical.md
to flash the partition table, xloader and fastboot.

I managed to brick one of my Mate 9s earlier today. It was a pain to get into (it's hard to get between the display and the case), but it's nice that there's still a way to recover.
That's what I get for trying to repair the seemingly dead cell modem. Hopefully it'll work when this all finishes.

Can you tell about your experience with the opened Mate 9 ?
I don't want to open mine without a good reason (happily running LineageOS 15 now).
Mate 9 does not have the serial console on UART5 or 6, the board_id is different,
but it is still interesting to knowif the hikey960 ramloader can start fastboot.
I'm not sure what loader was used, though my gut says it is the HiKey loader.
In any case, the biggest issue is getting the back separated from the rest of it. I've got an iFixit toolkit here which had enough to get into it (though I ended up using a 1mm flathead bit to remove the screws at the bottom since I didn't have a T2). It took me about 15 minutes to get the back off because it's pretty firmly attached and there aren't really any open spots around the edge to get tools into. The plastic opening tool and guitar picks included were helpful, though I also ended up making use of a hair clip to actually finish popping it up.
You do need to be careful taking the back off once you've got it separated, there is a flex cable attached to it with the flash, fingerprint reader, and power/volume controls.
From there, I disconnected the battery, shorted out the specified test points, and it showed up for downloading fastboot.

Also, if you do end up having to follow this method to restore, you'll probably want to do it on a disposable install of Windows. The Windows drivers specified in the OP are unsigned, and the DC Phoenix package gets flagged by Windows Defender as a trojan.
(Not to mention that you _must_ restore the serial numbers and IMEIs, as they get wiped out in the process. The phone will come back up with a serial number of 0123456789ABCDEF and a pair of 000000000000000 IMEI numbers.)
In the end, it does work, but going through this process on any system that you don't think of as disposable is possibly asking for trouble.
It works just perfect... Thanks you all... If any of you Guys need help Just write
i paid $5 dollars in a phone repair store to open my mate 9, but im in El Salvador i dont know in USA, i hope you get to open your phone guys and fix it succesfully

Baidu is notorious for its download software for big files. If you have problems with that, you can install Firefox and a plugin called User Agent Switch, switch your Firefox user agent to IE3.0 and visit baidu again, then you can use download software, like IDM to download big files freely, without its b*s download manager...

Hi,
I am not a dev and my knowledge on flashing and rooting is only from reading posts. Can I ask for a little advice and maybe instructions? Is it possible the rom from link can help with my situation described below?
I bought honor 8 frd al10 from china. The sim doesn't initiate. I firstly loaded android wear from play store to pair with my Huawei Watch. A message popped up saying 'this phone was flashed with unsupported config for companion. you must reflash it as either signed/user or unsigned/userdebug'. I tried to get help from seller but that's no use and they referred me to xda. They say my rom is EU. In the settings, the build is FRD-C900B120. IMEI and MEID are showing as unknown. There is no Baseband version showing. I am not an expert but I know this ain't right. After watching some of the videos, I used ADB to get to fastboot. It says device unlocked. This is where i get stuck and don't know what else to do. I simply want this phone to work as it is intended to. Help, please.
Edit: I forgot to add that reset to factory settings does not work. goes to 13% and says failed.
Also, when I type in a code in dialler to get product ID to get bootloader unlock code from Huawei, nothing happens so I am stuck if the bootloader is not unlocked.
There is no OEM unlock option in the dev options.

It looks like your phone and your ROM are in some twisted status: they are not match.
If you really use AL10 from China, there is a method to fully restore your phone to original status (AL10 original ROM). But I have to remind you the risk first, backup all your contacts to PC/GoogleContacts/Exchange before you proceed.
If you are ready, go to this post below, follow the instructions on 2nd post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/honor-8-rooted-twrp-modaco-rom-unable-t3462039
1. Download AL10 stock rom from my Mega link.
2. Extract necessary files using method above.
3. Follow the rest of instructions.
Now you fully go back to Stock AL10 phone as when it was sold in China and you can start to work from there.
If you don't like China stock ROM, what you can do is Debrand/Rebrand your phone which means, in simple, you change some parameters in your phone, to let your phone and ROM thinks it is from some other region, like EU/ME.
You can find details about Debrand/Rebrand method and video guide in following 2 posts:

Wow. First of all, thank you kindly. Looks like a load of work. I will try it and I really appreciate your help and your time.
The device is AL10 as per box/back of the device itself. There is nothing on this phone I would care to loose. Its like this straight out of the box. I don't mind what software I am using as long as I can make calls, use internet, pair my watch, download apps from play store (i understand this may be the issue with Chinese rom). I think what seller was intending to do is the debranding to make it EU.
If you don't mind, I will contact you (quote) if I encounter issues on the way.

Most HUAWEI's phones come with Google Play Services installed, what you need is Google Play Store, if I didn't remember it wrong.
From what I read, a proper debrand should never put your phone in a mess up status, but I haven't done that myself. If you can take time, maybe can study that SRK tool and debrand it yourself. Anyway, now you know you will have the final restore weapon.

I've tried and force update by putting update.app into dload on internal storage on phone. updating stopped after 3 % failed and asked to reboot.
I've tried reboot in bootloader and in adb typed 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' which i first extracted from update.app. I get: sending recovery OKAY, writing recovery FAILED <remote: command not allowed>

It feels like your phone is not properly unlocked or somehow relocked, maybe you should try to unlock your phone again.
Here is the post for your reference:

You may have troubles in finding these in your phone according to your previous post, try the code below.
1. Your phone serial number (this can be found in Settings -> About -> Status)
open dial pad and enter *#*#2846579#*#*, should be some options called "board basic info", and then "others" (I translate from Chinese website, maybe not accurate)

2. Your phone IMEI1 (this can be found in Settings -> About -> Status)
*#06#, if you have dual sim, key in main IMEI/MEID

3. Your phone product ID (to find this, open the dialler and enter *#*#1357946#*#*)

Thank you again.
The last is not possible as it returns nothing at all. I'll attempt Huawei live chat support on Monday in hope they can help with unlock code.
First two are printed on the box and the back of phone. There is also a sticker on the back of it with Chinese writing and some combination of letters and numbers. I doubt they are the product ID.

Hi,
Thank you, although as previously, my knowledge is basic, practice even less. If you are able to instruct, I will give it a try.

This thread is for the MediaPad M3 Lite 10 LTE - Tablet from Huawei.
In my case, I´m looking for a C-ROM and C-Recov (e.a. RR, Mokee, TWRP) for the
Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite 10 LTE (BAH-L09) with Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.1
Since it´s quite new on the market it´s atm hard to find anything bout a C-ROM or even a C-recovery.

Detailed device Informations:
Nobody knows any thread about this tablet??
Still searching for a root-solution.
So it's possible to read out the firmware with Infinity Box CM2 but haven't found a working "Non-dongle"-version (Loader).
Some days, there will be a root solution.
It just takes time and will be posted in here.

I much appreciate the offer but what could u do if u haven´t the device or do u own it ?
Since my CM2-Infinity-box doesn´t work (usually I work with Miracle Box but it´s not compatible ...well the Tablet has to be rooted to read the firmware..), and literally tried all rooting-apps and progs, this device is really stubborn!
I own this device, thats what i told you

Actually, just the stock-recovery is needed to finally start to compile it. Have u been able to extract the recovery or maybe the whole ROM ? ?

Well, to bad but I guessed so, since this device is atm not rootable. :/
I tried every single Flash-Box like MB, Infinity, Aladdin, Falcon etc pp.. any Rooting-App (APK & PC- based), almost a dozen flash-tools like ADT, AOS-flasher, Ultimate Backup-tool etc...and several command prompts via ADB&Fastboot.
Really Nothing helped to get a nandroid- or even a dumb ROM. From which I could extract the stock recovery.
Nevermind, I will try alil more with Holo- & Heliumbackup, which surely wont work but who knows, rite ??
I'm patient and as soon as I've found a solution I'll share it here immediately.
As any other user is welcome to do so, too.
I´ve managed to extract the stock-recovery via an OTA-update which came from Firmware Finder from Team MT.
U ´ll find the recovery on G-Drive. The "oldRECOVERY.img" is the extracted stock-recovery from the original BAH-L09C100B018 firmware!
So, since I´ve updated the Tablet, the only "RECOVERY.img"-named file is from the newest firmware which is L09C100B021!
If u wanna update to ...021, via the Firmware Finder-App, u need

Yup, unlocked the BL from day 1. It´s the same procedure for all HUAWEI devices.
Just go here, login or register, confirm the unlocking agreement and put all device infos into the blank fields.
U´ll immediatley get an unlock code, which u have to enter via fastboot command prompts (recommended):
fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock-go 1234567890123456 <- (this number is an example, u´ll have to put ur code there instead)
fastboot reboot
From now on an unlocked bootloader message will appear every time u start ur device. Just press power shortly to boot then. (It´s also written in the text aswell)
P.S.
Before u try to unlock: Don´t forget to enable USB-debugging in the Engineertool (tap 7 times on "build" in the settings-menue) and "allow OEM unlocking".

Ok cheers, I looked on the emui site and was nothing under their tablet menu only phones on the unlock bootloader page, on Nexus you just enable usb-debugging and click the OEM unlock in settings and fastboot flashing unlock in terminal. Sony uses a custom tool and HTC via their website I had a few phones in the past and built roms etc this my first Huawei device apart from my Nexus 6p Huawei help build with Google. I take it this device no official forum atm only the Kirin version.
Ya, HUAWEI has a quite faire unlock policy.
Important: There's an unlock bug sometimes. Be sure to have the Original firmware on ur device. (No updated ROM)
Have fun.

It's on latest official that came with device, I take it there is no twrp or anything out for this device ATM?
Just check a view posts above. I've described how to get the newest FW.
So if the factory ROM-version is installed, unlock the BL and after then update ur ROM. Jfi.
BTW_
Atm there's no custom recovery available for the M3 Lite Versions. U have to compile it by urself or make a request on Hovatek.com

I'm not bothered about updating the firmware ATM more so custom recovery but will look into it after my holiday.
I have requested official forum for this device and looks to be accepted so hopefully get some development going for this device soon...
There seems to be no way to retrieve the unlock code for Wifi-only tablets from the official Huawei site, as it demands the IMEI which is obviously missing.
I have contacted Huawei support with the product ID and serial number of my M3 Lite 10. One day later I have received the unlock code. I think that having been polite has helped
.
Storage question
Hello,
First of all: sorry, if the question is 'noobish', but as a matter of fact I am noob as far as android is concerned
I just bought this tablet for my son (LTE version), and I was quite surprised to find out that I can't move the installed applications to SD card.
Are there any hints and tips on how to take advantage of the big SD card, so my son's game data would not have to be stored in the internal memory?
The only default option is to change the memory from internal to SD, after the tablet restarts. But I assume it uses then only the SD card, and I am looking for a solution I remember from Samsung phone, where I could choose certain apps to move from internal memory to SD.
Another question, just by the way, is following: when I install an apk file from the SD card, during the installation process every few seconds I get a pop-up saying the application is not responding (although the installation is in progress). Any way to disable those annoying pop-ups?
I'd appreciate any feedback

I saw the page of the author of the steps of the unlocking method of the Lenovo k5 pro, and there's some differences. Maybe is for the differences in ROM?. By the way, could it safe to install chinnese version of the ROM if I unlock the bootloader?, There are a lot of updates in the chinnese ROM. Unfortunately there aren't any reviews of the ROM in youtube or forums, i think only three of us talk about this in this site, 4pda forum members are more focused in a discussion about sellesr of the phone and not in the phone itself, some other have lied trying to destroy the reputation of the phone. I like the phone, and it's very reliable, i haven't have any issues with it. I would like to test zui 5.0.188 st. Do you try it? or Do you know where to find info about this zui version? Have a nice day. I'm from Mexico too. I ordered my Lenovo phone from Sunsky, Have the model without the M in the back. And the ROM it said is global ROM. zui 5.0.66 st.

Hello paisano, exactly wich differences you saw in the guide?
I unlocked my phone on 5.0.117 ST, that's the "latest" ST version because I tested .118 ST and is the chinesse ROM (ENGLISH/CHINESSE LANGUAGES ONLY) but it comes with a lot of features and a better UI for the launcher and bug fixes, you can remove easily the bloatware. But I don't reccommend you unlocking bootloader on a chinesse or any other bloated ROM. Maybe thats the reason you say you saw differences in guide, because chinesse guys have to install speciffic version of their CN rom.
My reccommendation is to wait until a ROM is released, if you want to test, you can install .118 ST you can use magisk image to root, and if you don't like it you can downgrade to .117ST again, you only need the QFIL firmwares.
Sure, it's probably because of their CN specific ROM, then I would try the other one. Although i was hopping to install the CN. I want to get rid of the google apps, and installed again but only with the gmail, google maps, and playstore, that way only those google apps would be running in the system. And Chinnese ROM, like you said, is more easy to delete chinnese bloatware. Then proceed to install those google app that i have mentioned befored. I haven't installed the CN ROM because the seller told me that it could be some modem and imei compatibility issues. Then, should i move to 117/118 st? Or wait and stay in the .066 st? What improvements does the zui 5.0.117(.118) have that zui 5.0.066 st doesn't have? please. Because, unlike other phones, our models have less/nothing info about the OS (zui) features and improvements. I don't know how the .117 was build, because the global rom supposedly supports OTA but it said no updates. And Chinnese ROM users have got stable updates, they are now in the .188 st. And probably they could got a Pie upgrade zui (android 9).

I almost forgot brother, i'm going to read carefully your guide, and do it. But i was thinking if you agree that i make a video following the guide, for reference to others, about unlock, root and unroot, and TWRP installation. Maybe you, the user who share us the root method, and I would be the west pioneers of the phone, because, really, only the three us have focused in discussing about this matter, like a said before 4pda only are discussing about sellers of the phone, and other spamming with the intention to lower the popularity of the phone. Thank you very much for this guide you prepare. I'm being cautious because i'm really a newbie in this matter about lenovo phones. Other phones are more easy to play with it and improve it. This phone is very strong in its performance and durability, so learn how to use it at its maximum it would be great!.

And what to do with it - I don't know.

Hello:
The IMEI that you need is the one that has 15 digits. Also you need your s/n, and you need a valid email (it can be gmail, outlook, etc...). You need to enter the captcha numbers that appears below (it has time limit, so if it throws you an error message, refresh it).
Also, important to mention. It's better not to have modified the phone, i'm talking about modifications that could alter the IMEI. Until know that only modification could be installing the CN ROM instead of the ROW ROM. And its a probability, it's an advice that the seller gave me.
So you are a 4pda forum member, I too. So could you gave them this recommendation for me please. I bought the phone from SUNSKY, the 4/64 GB version. It only took 1 labor week to be in my house. I'm from Mexico, so the distance were big, but this seller ships fast. I choose the dhl express option, by recommendation of the seller.
Greetings KiiKep!
I'm ready to do the flash and record the process. I want to confirm the order to upgrade the phone. First is install .117 stock > unblock bootloader > root device. Is that order correct?

Hi.
Unfortunately I was not able to unlock bootloader. According to the instructions of Your colleague got root - everything works. However, my colleague from 4pda.ru unlocked the bootloader today and promised to spread information in the forum thread. Thanks again for your help. :good:

You'll laugh, but the Russian technical support of Lenovo all pretend that such a phone does not exist. And the serial number is not in the database! And in Russian forum about this phone is not in the database! And my question is about the unlock I was threatened by the ban...
But it was something else. I bought a phone as a gift to my wife. To give the right did not, at first, decided to unlock. NOT INSERTED SIM CARD!!! Last put them, and this morning it was just as necessary: request received, the unlock code sent.
Thank you very much for your participation!
Hello KiiKerp
I have installed QPST tools, by the way, where do you downloaded the 118 st? I haven't find it yet, only appears 117 st in all my searchs in google. By the way. Could i backup nandroid and modem in QPST tools without root? Or i need to root my phone while being in my current firmware (5.0.066 st). I am asking, because i have read in 4pda forums that some guys lost their IMEI1 in the process of installing TWRP. So I am thinking if i could backup my image or at least the nandroid and modem (all the QCN) before doing any modifications.
Are you sure is 118 s? I think maybe is 188 st. By the way, i have see in cn forums that there is a new stable room. Do you have install 117st and 118 st without any issues like lost your IMEI, bluethoot fails , etc...? Thanks in advanced.

Yeah tried that option. Samsung has our model on a bootloader 2, means our device won't accept flashing from any other firmware but the original non-modded firmware only.
Tried prince Odin, patched Odin all versions, tried Heimdall etc..
Error is ...boot secure check failed..
I've tried to flash firmware a205G only with fail error Everytime.
Psa I've had my a205u for 10 days no OEM unlock option.
Main reason why I'm not buying another Samsung phone.
Bought a Moto g7 and the g7 power ..I rooted both within 10 min from purchase. Motorola emailed me my bootloader unlock code . Fastboot flashed and Bam good to go. I'm done .

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^THIS ALL DAY. I swapped mine out for the G7 Power and already done rooted, flashed, and wrote a guide while all the 205u users are waiting for the mythical OEM Unlock to magically appear which it ain't gonna. Sammy can kiss my techie ass...we are officially divorced. I won't even go back and buy an old Sammy like I wanted to (was thinking about getting that S7 edge). It's me and Moto for now.

Maybe Samsung has an issue with US tariffs.
Samsung have certainly turned an essentially good piece of hardware into a pile of rubbish with mega-invasive bloatware. I have barely started to strip back the garbage and the phone is springing to life. Need a working TWRP before getting too keen as the path back to functionality is long and arduous without a way of restoring partitions if anything gets screwed up. Here is what the phone looks like with Google Play junk removed plus a bit of Samsung bloat removed - not everyone is ready to kick the Alphabet addiction I know, but it has become an absolute monster that eats battery and cpu cycles....apart from the privacy invasion side of it
I am finding that many unknown, non-visible apps with innocent sounding names or "security" inferred in the name are likely to be ad server or data mining software - I got wise to this with my first and last Xiaomi device

The US doesn't have an issue with South Korea on tariffs, despite Trump's big mouth.
The problem is that Sammy wants to be essentially Apple Android. And that is what's driving this crap in the same of "security". Knox has been like the devil and even sentient since it came to power almost like Skynet. And all of this started when Verizon offered Sammy big bucks to lock it down ala Kyocera with the S5 era - which coincidentially is the last great breath of air they had to give.
They don't care about the developer models either - look in the forums, many of them are just as locked down.
Sammy knows ain't that many phone companies left in the US; Tmobile done bought out half the cell companies and AT&T got the other half in a duopoly, meaning they and other companies can continue this path of nanny phones on the general public that are going for more personalized computers they can't control than actual phones that work. Most Americans aren't going to turn to GooPhone nor will many XDA devs develop any type of TWRP or rom for those types. And that means they can dangle a bells and whistle carrot while their demographic signs their privacy away.
I ain't a fan of Lenovo-Moto, but at least they let half the phone companies unlock the variant to their devices. Sammy, on the other hand, does not and is playing Xiaomi type of games on that bootloader.

Ok so I am trying to unlock bootloader so that I can then flash the euro rom for Xiaomi 13. I currently have the Chinese version and using in the UK.
When I go into the phone settings and check mi unlock status and try to add my device to my account I get the error message as per title.
1. I have turned off wifi
2.i have signed in and out of my mi account several times to see if this would help
3. I have logged into my mi account through PC using same account details as those on the phone and it shows my device under 'my devices'
The problem is that I have never had the confirmation when trying to add my device through the phone that it has been linked correctly and I assume that is what is causing me a problem when I try to unlock my bootloader using mitools.
When I do this I get an error come up that states something like 'missing token'. I can't remember the exact words.
Not sure where I go from here. All drivers are installed correctly and device is recognized in adb .
Help please, really need to get of this Chinese rom.
Check that everything is correct

The first link just takes me to Xiaomi community home, not sure what im supossed to belooking for or checking there?
The second link takes me to a guide to unlock the bootloader, I am using Mitools to do this. This goes through its various stages to ensure all drivers insyalled etc and connects to the phone fine. i then have the option to select what i would like to do, i select 'unlock bootloader and then it links me to my xiaomi account where i sign in using the same details as are signed into on my phone. I am then faced with the 'xiaomi procedure failed [get service token] missing service token message.
Can you also explain what you mean by ensure currency location is enabled please?

But you are using an unofficial tool and complain that it doesn't work.
i tried the offical tool first but didnt work either, i then found on a youtube search that someone suggested trying mitool as that would also ensure you had all the corect drivers installed etc on pc for the adb when it came to flashinging the rom.
On another note, ive just tried to log into xiaomi cloud from my pc to use the find device service as i thought that might link the drvice and ive just had an account message come up saying that because i had not used my account for over a year that cloud services are no longer available on that account.
Do you think i need to delete that account somehow and just create a new one?

Try again with the official tool and post a screenshot of the error just in case.
You must place the Mi unlock folder at the root of your hard disk and check that:

ok i have the offical mi unlock on C drive. I have also just deleted my old xiaomi account and created a new on just to ensure there is no conflict there. i am logged in with the new account on my device and will log into mi unlock with same details and lets see what happens.
Thanks for your help so far,
ok so i am now a step further on!
having done the above (created a new xiaomi account) i am now being given the option (using offical versio) to unlock bootloader!
Im going to do that in a few hours as i believe it will wipe my device and take it back to its first start up?
That being the case it will then not have google play etc installed. Obviously my intention then is to flash the EU rom which i assume has google play pre installed?

Yep, this operation will erase your data as well as the first installation of the Xiaomi Eu rom which has the play store certified without root.
ok so just to confirm,
i now unlock the bootloader (hopefully i wont get the wait 'x' days message) and that will then completley wipe my device and take it back to its original chinese rom and start up screen like it was fresh out the box.
I can then just flash the EU ROM over the top and then i will have a device which has play store pre installed and nothing Chinese on it?

You will probably have to wait 168 hours.
Once the bootloader unlocks the phone restarts and asks you to connect to your account, go to the end of the configuration without entering passwords or others then flash the Xiaomi Eu rom (recommended fastboot method, First install.bat) .
Just the themes will have Chinese inside since it is Chinese based.
Xiaomi Eu rom infos.

great thanks.
168 hours thing is a pain as i assume i wont be able to use my phone durring that time? obviously when it all starts it will be in chinese. Will i have an option to select english durring that reboot process? i guess also if i do want to use it while waiting for the 168 hours thing i would need to install google play again somehow?
The phone came with that pre-installed so i have not done that before.

actually im not thinking this through ....
what you are saying is that i wont be able to actually complete the bootloader unlock process for 160 hours from the point i try to request it. I assume i just carry on using ot as it is then and when the time is up come back and run it again at which point it will reset the phone and then at that point i can then flash the EU rom
Once the 168 hours have passed, you will need to use Mi Unlock again to finalize.
And you should use the phone "normally".
ok so we have hit another hurdle...
conected the phone ok to the unlock tool and then it stopped at stage 2 saying 'please add your device to your Mi account and try again'
i went back to the device and into developer settings and then Mi unlock status and clicked add device and again was greated with the original message of 'cannot connect please try again later'
wifi was off and the sim card in the phone....just dont know where i go from here.
when i sign into my xiaomi account on pc the device is shown there and when i sign into xiaomi cloud and click find device it locates it so all seems to be fine.
i dont understand what this connection error message is and why i still need to add it to something when the device shows in my account already

Click to collapse
If you have created a new account, it sometimes takes a little time for the account to be activated (server update).
Try to connect with the QR code at the top right.
And of course with USB debugging enabled.
The ultimate solution is to do a factory reset.
Edit:
It seems to me that it is possible to ignore this error by continuing.
I did a back up to ensure the device was associated with the account and also did the find device thing which it found ok.
Where is the qr code thing your referring to?
Don't really want to resort to the factory reset as obviously I will need to install Google play again which I've not done before...
I don't believe it's possible to ignore this step as when I try to unlock the bootloader with the official too it stops and says the device must be added to the account...
