Hi All, I'm new here. Hope you can help.
I am using BLN-L21 on B371 version EMUI 5.0.1.
I don't like the EMUI Time and Date tumbler dial selectors when using calendar apps etc. Is it possible to install the stock android month and clock dial selector format?
Many thanks, Steve
Hi there, and welcome.
I have an idea about what you're referring to, but I'm not sure that it could be right, so would you kindly post a screenshot about what you mean with date and time tumbler? Didn't understood if you're aiming to install just another clock/calendar or if you mean something else.
Christopher
I am referring to the vertical scrolling dials used to set the time and date where this is required, for example when entering dates of flights, or calendar entries, or the times in alarm settings. The EMUI method is to scroll the hour tumbler and the minutes tumbler separately where the stock method is to pick a number off the clock dial. Similarly with EMUI you select the day and month from separate tumblers rather than the date off a page of the month.
I have installed the Google calendar for example which on my tablet uses the stock android method, but on my Honor 6x uses the EMUI method so it must be something to do with the way EMUI implements the date and time selection. Hopefully something you can change.
Regards, Steve
Tried to insert screenshot. Failed miserably.

Hello,
i have installed Cookies Home Tab 2.0. on my HD2 (german stock rom). Very nice, working just fine (thank you). There is just one minor annoyance. I can not change the date format beneath the weather forcast (on the left the date, on the right alarm clock, saying "Wecker aus" all the time, as i use G-Alarm). The problem is, as my alarm is turned off all the time, the layer of the alarm clock tab is grey, but the layer of the date is white. The format of the date is: Mo. 22. November 2010. As "010" of the shown year "2010" projects into the grey layer it looks like: Mo. 22 November 2
As i said minor, but still... i want it to be perfect.
Could anybody please tell me how to either change the date format (changing HTCs date format in settings does not help by the way) or how to change the color or transparance of the layer.
Thx, H
NextEvent gives you a simple view of how long until your next calendar appointment or alarm. A 1x1 widget on your home screen shows you at a glance how many days, hours, or minutes until your next event. Easily see how much time until your next meeting at work, or keep an eye on how many hours until the alarm is going to go off in the morning.

Other calendar widgets take up a lot of space on your home screen, but NextEvent is small and straightforward. The widget focuses solely on telling you when your next event is coming. Clicking the widget brings up a full list of all upcoming events, with description, location, and time for each. You can also optionally add your next event to the notification bar.
NextEvent integrates with the following sources:
Built-in calendar app
System alarm and other alarms that write to the system alarm property (see note below)
Alarm Clock Xtreme
Alarm Clock Plus
If you have another source you’d like me to consider adding, please let me know. Please note that my ability to integrate it depends on either an existing interface from that provider, or willingness to add one for this purpose. Some apps may not be possible to integrate.
If you have any problems, questions, or comments, please be sure to let me know here or email me directly. I’m an independent developer with a day job, but I will do everything I can to answer your questions and resolve any problems as quickly as possible.
More on alarm integration:
Android provides a system property that any app can write to indicating the next alarm time. If you only have your default system alarm application installed, this should work fine. If nothing happens when you click on an alarm in the detail list, or if it opens the wrong application, please go to Menu -> Settings -> Global Alarm Application and choose what program should be opened.
If you use – or even have just installed – a 3rd party alarm application, it may cause problems with this property. Since both the default and 3rd party apps are writing to this property, one may write to the property that there is no scheduled alarm, overwriting the alarm the other app has set. NextEvent supports more direct integration with two popular alarm clock programs, Alarm Clock Plus and Alarm Clock Xtreme. If you use either program, the direct integration will not have any of these problems. It also supports showing multiple alarms and timers that have been set in those applications. I may look into adding direct integration with other alarm programs if they support it.

Again, if you have any problems or suggestions, please let me know here, via the email listed in the market, or via PM!
Changelog/announcements
v1.1.1:
- Full ICS+ support (sorry for the delay!)
- Optional icon in the notification bar with a countdown to the next event (just the closest hour or day if > 90 minutes, or minutes if < 90 minutes). ICS+ only for now.
Save one more
You never know, might need one more...
Will this be available for 4.0+? This is the only calendar widget or indeed app I've found that has a countdown view including hours and minutes of upcoming events.
Have you realized that there is not calendar widget out there with time until event? eg:
- 10pm Event XXXX (in 5h:25m)
I would gladly pay for a widget like that...

So are you basically looking for a widget that includes the event title, in addition to what's there now? I can certainly add that -- it'd most likely need to be a bigger widget to fit the title in a readable font (maybe 2x1). So I'd keep the 1x1 version for those who want it. Let me know if that's what you had in mind.

Actually, the perfect widget for me would be a 4x1, and in it accommodate the next 2-3 events:
- 11am Event A (in 5h6m)
- 1pm Event B (in 7h6m)
- 3pm Event C (in 9h6m)
I have pure calendar widget, and when I asked the dev to include this feature the reason he gave me to not include it was that it would be a battery hog as he would have to make it update every x minutes. Now, I had this kind of widget when I had my HTC phone, and what the widget did was to redraw itself with the updated time every time I would turn on the display.
Please tell me if this is possible without making it a big battery drain.
Thanks a lot for looking into it!!
P.S. I even know the name it should have: "NextEvents"
Dear reader, I want to make the transition from IOS to Android and I have detailed requirements to the software and hardware of my new Smartphone maybe you can give me your opinion on one or more of this topics:
So basically I want to buy the smartphone which fits the requirements the most. The importance is descend.
I do not care about the price nor the size of the Device.
1. I want to use the Device and the operations System Version as long as possible and if possible set up everything once and then only update Apps if I have to. And do not update the OS because this means all my Xposed Tweaks are gone and there is maybe no version out for the new OS.
For my Iphone I manageed it to use IOS 5.1.1 for up to three years.
2. I want to be able to customize my Statusbar, Lockscreen, physical Buttons on the phone, Notifications ...
I am so used to the following features:
2.1 - In Android world you would call this: Xposed Module Repository -> Physical Button Music Control
2.2 - I need a method that the phone is silent ( no vibration too ) and only wakes up the screen if an email, whatsapp arrives, BUT all calls ( unknown, in contact list, supressed number ) will vibrate or only wake display or vibrate and ring. At least the options for the calls should be easy accessible and I need an icon in the Statusbar that tells me something like: Warning you phone will not vibrate/sound if somebody calls you.
2.3 I want to have the Day,Date in the statusbar eg. "Mo23.02"
2.4 I need reminders that will stay on the Lockscreen
2.5 I need if I get notifications like a new mail, whatsapp message, or facebook message, that this message will be displayed with a preview on the lockscreen and stay on the lockscreen until it is marked as read ( In IOS they without Jailbreak Tweak they dissapear after the first unlock )
2.6 I need that my calender events are shown on the lockscreen
3 Genreally I want a clear structured layout, no fancy animations but to be able to customize behavior of the phone as much as possible. I do not need the newest autofocus, fingerprint technical gadet stuff, but the phone should be as fast as possible. I need it to enhance my productivity in daily life and want to set it up once and use it as long as possible without reconfig it
4 So does this mean go to CM or are there Stock ROMS who can be customized with Xposed Framework very good.
Which Phone in the High End sector can you recommend? Which one is famous for supporting CM or XposedFramework on stock very good ?

Hello,
Try posting your query here Device suggestion thread with all relevant details, the experts there maybe able to assist you.

My Honor 9 with EMUI 5 has the old timepicker style, referred to as the "spinner". But all new android versions use the "clock" type, which is a lot more intuitive and requires less time to set the desired value.
Any idea on how to force-set the "clock" type systemwide in android? Maybe by editing build.prop in some way?
Still nothing new - anyone got an idea?
Bump
I have the exact same question, for the exact same reasons. This is my only major complaint. I have the Huawei Elate, running Nougat.
This is a simple calendar widget where the month view and today's agenda are combined together. It gives you a good overview of your events at hand in your home screen.
Google Play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.itbenefit.android.calendar
PLEASE NOTE: This is a trial version with NO TIME LIMIT. After 7 days, you will be asked to buy the license to unlock more options and support further development. But you could continue use this app for free as long as you want until you decide to buy it or not.
Features:
• Synced with Google calendars
• Shows markers for dates with events
• Shows upcoming agenda
• Shows week numbers (optional)
• Opens default calendar app by taping on date
• Beautiful and clean design
If you faced an issue or have any ideas, please let me know.

For me, a calendar widget is valuable when/if it shows the weather.

Do you mean current weather or weather forecast for upcoming days?
1. Today's weather
2. Current weather
3. Upcoming days
I can't see the logic in having a calendar + weather all-in-one widget. I'd rather have separate widgets for those, so I can choose the best for each, and the widgets don't become bloated with functionality I don't need.
Hi.
I'm still getting a problem with widget updates on my Huawei Mate 10 Pro. If I charge the phone overnight, the next time I unlock it the Calendar Widget Agenda has all entries replaced with the text 'Loading...', and it stays like that unless I open the settings, then close them, after which the widget updates properly.

Sorry for delayed reply. Unfortunately, the workaround I'm applied does not fixes the issue completely. But at least you can refresh agenda by open/closing settings (it wasn't updated before I applied workaround). Why Huawei still not fixed the issue?

No problem, just thought it's worth letting you know. I must admit, I'm tempted to try and put a Project Treble ROM on this thing!
