I dropped my Lenovo p2, accidently. Although the glass did not crack, the screen has stopped responding to touches in a particular area, in the shape of a horizontal band (about 1 cm width). Does anyone know what could have been damaged and how much it would cost to replace/repair? My phone is still under warranty. Please advise.
Not sure if drops are covered under warranty, also no idea how much it would cost to have it replaced at a repair shop.
I do know that you can buy a replacement digitizer including screen and frame on aliexpress for about 80-90 euros. I bought one a few days ago as my screen did crack when I dropped my phone.

When he goes to service centre (Delhi, India) and asked for digitizer they said that they don't have one in any store in delhi and asked him to exchange his phone with lenovo k5 note.

Glass piece that is attached to the LCD is the digitizer.
Most smartphone these days come with attached digitizer with lcd.

Few days back my galaxy sl dropped from running bike and the LCD broken, also earlier i was having problem with soft keys and the man at samsung service center told me that the whole front panel must be changed, costing around Rs.6000.
After the phone dropped i checked it with my friends LCD screen and everything was working.
Tell me that is there any cheaper option available, as spending Rs.6000 is worthless because the phone is already 2 year old and i would buy a new phone in that price.... Is there any local or cheap lcd available which may be used for sometime???
Front lcd? Are you sure it is not the touchscreen digitizer? Usually when people drop the phone the touchscreen gets broken and not the lcd. The digitizer costs around 7 and 14 dolars in ebay with free shipping. Check if you need the lcd (what you see) or the digitizer (what you touch)

I broke my Touch Screen Digitizer and MMX service center asked Rs.2,500 to fix it. But I got it fixed for only Rs 1,000. Digitizer screen for our MMX A110 is available at E-BAY, so guys if you encounter the same problem make a note of this,

I think the digitizer or screen of my canvas 2 plus is broken :crying: and there is big crack in the screen that is expanding but the touch works fine and almost no rainbow effect. what should i do ??? get the screen replaced, use a screen protector or get the whole lcd replaced ???
that's what you get for buying micromax, I brought two mmx tabs and a phone and now they all lie in a rack like a book,screen cracks ,works for few days and then boom, when you visit service centre and ask about screen replacement price,you will blame yourself why did u brought a mmx.
ecample- I brought a funbook tab in Jan 2013,on second day of purchase,it fell from my bed just 10 cm above the floor and voila a big crack,it worked for two months and than didn't work,when I went to service centre ,they said it will take 3500 to replace screen,here what's interesting ,when they quoted a price of 3500 for replacing screen ,at the same time ,,a mobile shop nearby was selling new funbook for just 4050 rupees,and I was like what the folk ...so as of now I'm using a LG L9 which I brought for 17k and whose screen costs mere 2k.
my ans will be to use your phone delicately as long as you can.use screenguard or something and try to make the best out of it.

My display stopped working. I recently changed the digitizer and I can see that my phone is switching on So I contacted the service centre and they told the full molding should be changed; Including digitizer and touch screen. Can anyone help me to find any low cost item in Hyderabad?

Cheap digitizers - No No
Recently got fixed my canvas 2's LCD display and Digitizer (touch) from nehru place for 2500/- the lcd display is quite acceptable at such price but the digitizer does not do any justice.
I ran a multi-touch test and it showed only two touch (where OEM digitizer is 5 point touch), calibration was also slightly imperfect and also the build quality of these cheap digitizers are very low when compared to the OEM.
If you use your canvas 2 for gaming then please do not go for these cheap digitizers, do your homework before purchasing any cheap digitizers.
Can any1 say how to replace the touchscreen without breaking digitizer?

My Lenovo P2 touch is broken, just fall down, But There is no scratch/crack the gorilla glass display, there no scratches any damages in the body only has a small line in touch and not working (full black )
