Unable to login to Instagram "An unknown network error has occurred" - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Issue:
I am unable to log in to Instagram. There is an error. "An unknown network error has occurred".
Possible Cause:
Prior to this error occurring, I installed Xposed and tried out some modules. Specifically about blocking ads.
I installed Xposed through Magisk installer. After doing so, I tried opening my Instagram and it says it couldn't refresh.
What I have tried:
1. Uninstalled Instagram and Uninstalled Xposed and all the modules.
2. Reinstalled Instagram and still fails. Getting the same problem upon logging in.
3. Installed GB Instagram from Batman ROM. Still fails.
My Instagram is not linked to any other social media sites like FB. I log in with a username and password.
I tried it with a different phone and through my PC and instagram is working fine.
Any suggestions or fix to this issue? This is only happening with Instagram so far. I hope someone can help me.
TIA.

Just a quick update. Someone might experience the same thing. I reflashed to stock and it solves the issue with Instagram. So it is most likely due to the Xposed installation I did.

Just to give you additional data:
I use Magisk to root my phone and the only module I installed was the ad blocker. I got the same error from Instagram. Disable the ad blocker module, reboot, Instagram works.

XPosed and Snapchat on 6.0 didn´t work !

Hello,
i flashed my FW to 6.0, update my Bootloader and Installed TWRP, then tried to install XPosed v81-sdk23-arm64 and it worked without errors.
Reboot my Phone and wait 10 min (Updating Apps)
Install the XposedInstaller 3.0 alpha 4.apk and download all my needed Apps, like FB, Snapchat, Insta and whatever
Can Login into FB, Insta and all other, but only with Snapchat cant login, get message that i can´t login for now, please try later
can only create a new User (but after reboot, the same issue, and dont want a new account)
Anybody else that error with login? is there a fix, like the camfix?

You have to disable xposed, boot up and login to snapchat. Then you can re-enable xposed and all should work. Don't know why, but it's a thing when installing xposed before you login for the first time.

thx will test it later
Adding to this, once you're logged, you can backup snapchat with titanium backup. That way, if you are logged off by someone or because of a snapchat error you can restore data to login again without redo all the steps

Oh No! your login temporarily failed

So I recently logged out of my Snapchat account so I can install Snapprefs (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-snapprefs-ultimate-snapchat-utility-t2947254) and that's when my error occured - I couldn't login anymore.
I downloaded 9.39.5.0 Snapchat version, un-installed Xposed Framework as it said, but that didn't work, and it gave me the same issue as like on Google Play's Snapchat version.
Can anyone help me solve this issue, please?

[Completed] Cannot connect to VPN with any app

Hello, I am using a sharp Aquos crystal(306sh) with root, xposed, and BusyBox all installed. Recently I have been faced with a problem that is quite annoying. Whenever I try to use a VPN app it will give me some sort of error. The main app I use is Betternet and when I tap connect it gives me a toast notification as follows: "Unfortunately, your Android does not support vpn, but you can still try restarting your device to use Betternet." This has become a real problem and has evolved from when it first began happening. when this first started happening it would just tell me to grant permission to Betternet on the prompt I was given, but that prompt would never show up. Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me and note that I would be happy to give any additional information on my problem, device, etc.
Hi !
Was this app ever working ? What android version do you have ? Have you purchased it from Google play or downloaded apk ?

Hi, Betternet was downloaded directly from Google play and I am on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It was working before and I am not sure what could have caused the issue.
I've tried myself that app, it's working fine on nougat, uninstal it, reboot, do it again

Thanks, but I have already tried that. I don't think it is a problem with the app, but rather a problem with the system or maybe a conflicting app I have installed. The reason I am asking for help is because I DON'T want to factory reset and I don't want to accidentally make things worse. Do you have any ideas on what may be causing the issue? I would try to find out myself, but I just don't know where to start.
Do you have the VPN settings in network settings?
Try to set up from there
Try a different free VPN to see if it's app or system issue
Try to Google for kitkat vpn issues, apparently there were some reports
Xposed may have something to say, remove what you can until step by step you can identify the culprit

Yes, I do have VPN settings, but I don't know how to connect to Betternet through there. Also, I had googled this for a couple hours before posting and everyone seemed to have a different issue, but I will look again.
Finally, I have tried other apps and they all have the same problem. The problem seems not to be with connecting, but rather getting permission from the system to connect.

Unable to install app (Facebook Messenger) and I'm out of ideas

Problem: I cannot (re)install Facebook Messenger
History: I have two Pixel 2 phones. I had facebook messenger when I initially set up on both. I noticed that there was an update that would not download and install. I have had this issue in the past with other apps & phones. So I uninstalled the app, to reinstall via play store. It would not install giving a "error -505". I have found that "error -505" basically means "something went wrong, but we aren't going to tell you what." I tried my Titanium Backup from both phones; Both TiKbp sit at the restoring notification for a long time. By long time, I mean I actually let it work for over an hour. I have tried going back to stock boot & dtbo image via OTA and flash-all, and also tried removing Magisk. Installing the APK from the TiKbp refuses to work either; I get the installing progress bar, then "App not installed".
Phone info:
Google version & oem unlocked bootloader
December 8.1
TWRP 3.2.1
Rooted via Magisk V14.5(1456) (works properly, safetynet passes)
Snoke R1 Kernel
Viper4Android (works properly)
Currently: One phone has Facebook Messenger (145.0.0.25.203) installed (will not update). The other refuses to install in any fashion I try.
Do any of you know of something else I can try?

Tried three different APKs with no luck.
I figured out the issue.
Apparently my facebook app version 3.9 was claiming a permission the Messenger needed.
I uninstalled facebook the second time around and success!
adb install is my new best friend haha
Code:
C:\Windows\System32>adb devices
List of devices attached
FAXXXXXXXXX device
C:\Windows\System32>adb install "C:\Users\jerem\Desktop\Pixel 2\com.facebook.orca.apk"

Note: How do I change the title of the OP to [SOLVED]

Cant install any app, even apks. Please help.

So i am on an s5 at&t rooted OF3 and decided I wanted to get Xposed. I followed the guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/xposed-lollipop-t3567152
I then noticed that Snapchat had logged me out and it was because of the Xposed framework. I then went to the Xposed website to uninstall the framework thru flashfire. I used the latest .zip "xposed-uninstaller-20180117-arm.zip". Then it rebooted and said "Android is upgrading, optimizing apps 1 of 200. " When it was done, an error came up that said "Procces system has stopped. " I took off the battery and rebooted and everything booted fine.
This Is Where The Problem Starts
I had uninstalled Snapchat during my noticing I had with Xposed and Snapchat. I tried to install it from the play store and I got 'error -504'. I researched it and did everything in this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733038 and got nothing. Now that I did those suggestions, I tried clearing the app cache, data and uninstalling app updates off of GPlay store, Google services framework, GPlay services and even the package installer. I then tried downloading and installing Snapchat from an apk and got the 'X App not installed'. I then tried a test with flashfire. I uninstalled flashfire and tried installing it from the apk. I then again, got the same error. My only guess is that it's an internal thing that may have gone wrong in the uninstalling process of the Xposed framework. How do I fix this issue?
