How to install update.zip:
1. You must be on ZRA5, stock, no root. If you are on AQL5, you can flash this to update to ZRA5: https://mega.nz/#!3M9hATZB!9uzxvZvFJ...cbllrVfEwR9WuQ
2. Copy the update.zip to microSD
3. Reboot to recovery
4. Install update.zip from SD card
5. Enjoy!

There is no FULL ODIN Package yet , wait for it and it's very easy to upgrade

Hello, I am on AQK7. Can I use the update.zip to upgrade to ZRA5 and then go via update.zip to CRAP? Does it destroy KNOX?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/discussion-oreo-final-t3746561
First Post!!! Very easy.

Has anyone tried using Magisk on the CRAP build? Is it just a case of flashing the latest?

Safe To Flash Stock Nougat (Unrooted) In Stock Recovery?

Hey everyone. I have a G930F model Galaxy S7, and I have been running the Nougat Beta for months now. Yes I have flashed the nougat beta on Odin. (After my phone bricked.) But since the Final official one (G930FXXU1DPLT) is now out, I downloaded the zip file to install it, but I have a quick question.
I realize that you have to extract the (in my case) BTU-G930FXXU1DPLT-20170117160813.zip in order to sepretaly flash the 4 files in Odin, but is it possible to flash the Stock ROM in Stock Recovery? (Not TWRP or anything like that, STOCK Recovery.)
I have seen a tutorial on how to install it from youtube on how to install the beta. (Link: https://youtu.be/fCt-buF2gY4), but I think that THAT device was a snapdragon model. But since I have the Exynos model, and want to install the final official one, I just want to know if it is possible to do so? (I'm sorry if I sound like a noob, but I'm still not currently on used to flash stuff on Samsung devices since I came from being a long term Sony fan.)

You could have updated and then re-rooted again by now
Think its possible if you download a pre-rooted rom.
Yes i know the other possibilities, but i don't want to lose my data and install everything again, thats why i want to know if it is possible to update without losing root and wiping. With flashfire it was possible to that on marshmallow but i dont know if it wil work if i update to nougat

Unfortunately no, you'd have to Odin back to stock in order to take the updates.

I have seen that it is possible with other phones by updating with flashfire but i want to know if it works fine for the s7 too...
Still no solution -_-
I upgrade between nougat firmware using flashfire and just put the SuperSU/Magisk(switched to Magisk recently, both work) zip in the flash chain. So it works. Not sure about marshmallow to nougat though.
Steps to update....?
Would you be so kind as to provide us the steps to updating with stock ROM? I have a rooted S7 with Magisk/TWRP that I would like to update (without losing root) to the latest stock ROM from Samsung.
It would be greatly appreciated!

Note: You still need a PC to flash the bootloader and modem with Odin, but that might not be necessary for smaller updates. This may not work too well coming from MM to Nougat.
In Flashfire, add the AP file only from the ROM. Next, add a HOME_CSC file from your current CSC and make sure it says "Process cache". You can mix HOME_CSC files from any region with newer firmware marked for any other region. Extremely old HOME_CSC files will likely break the newest firmware though. Make sure to turn off EverRoot if you intend to use Magisk, in which case you should add the Magisk zip to the flash chain.(don't use v13 yet). Add any other mods you typically flash here (eg. I have a zip which disables tima in build.prop to keep encryption working) Also make sure "Preserve recovery" is on. Set the device to shutdown when done. (Download mode won't work when booted into by Flashfire. It's a bug) Next boot into download mode and flash the BL and CP files from the firmware package with Odin and reboot. It might boot back into TWRP, in which case just boot into system.
You're awesome, Curtis!
Though I'm still scratching my head: so even though I have Magisk/TWRP already installed on Nougat (to gain root access) and I wish to update with the latest Nougat ROM from Samsung that was just posted on sammobile 2 days ago, am I correct in saying that I would STILL have to install Flashfire and EverRoot for this process to work?
Thank you for your tutelage and patience.

EverRoot injects SuperSU, basically as if by CF AutoRoot. Magisk has it's own rooting solution, which despite being compatible with SuperSU will likely fail safetynet if Supersu is installed. Also I have no idea which order it will flash them in so I can't predict the outcome here...
Basically. If you want SuperSU use EverRoot. If you want Magisk, disable it and use the Magisk zip. Both will grant root access when done.

Rooting and getting official updates

Hello everyone!
Just a little question : is it possible to get official updates after the rooting? I want to get the emui 5.1 but I feel so limited without the root..
What do you think?

You can't install an OTA update while rooted. So even though you'll get notifications about a new update (if rooted) you have temporarily unroot and then you can proceed to install the OTA.
Its pretty easy to unroot. Stay rooted until your device tells you about an available OTA.

No chance of bricking your phone.
If you're on Android N (and update later than B38X), you have to flash TWRP, and flasb Magisk zip file to get root. There are literally zero risks in it. Don't worry there is a really small chance that your device will get bricked. And before flashing, take a backup of boot image just in case. It will help you to easily take OTA updates in the future.

I'll try to be as precise as possible.
1. Unlock your bootloader and flash TWRP (there are a couple of threads at XDA which will help you achieve this).
2. Download Magisk from here: http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
3. Download Magisk Manager from here: http://tiny.cc/latestmanager
4. Reboot your device to TWRP. Go to backup and select boot image.
5. Now while in TWRP hit Install button, select the Magisk zip and install it.
6. Now reboot your device to EMUI, and install the Magisk Manager (its just an APK file).
7. Voila!

[STOCK][O] H850 30a OPEN EU ROM Flashable ZIPs + KDZ (Android 8.0 "Oreo")

Stock Firmware H850 V30a "Oreo" OPEN EU ROM
KDZ-File: H85030a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0910.kdz (MD5)
Flashable ZIP Complete: LG-H85030a-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip (MD5)
Flashable ZIP Boot: LG-H85030a-Flashable.Boot.zip (MD5)
Flashable ZIP Bootloader: LG-H85030a-Flashable.Bootloader.zip (MD5)
Flashable ZIP Modem: LG-H85030a-Flashable.Modem.zip (MD5)
Android 8.0.0
Patch level: 1 September 2018
Baseband: MPSS.TH.2.0.c1.4-00070-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.163432.2a.168009.1
Kernel: 3.18.71
Build: OPR1.170623.032
Software version: V30a-EUR-XX
Changes:
- Android Oreo
Instructions:
Upgrade from Android 7 and root using TWRP and Magisk
Do backups! Expect to lose your apps and settings!
Get the required imgages:
H85030a_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0910.kdz from above --> store it on your HDD.
twrp-3.2.3-2-h850.img --> HDD
Magisk 17.1 ZIP file. Copy it to your G5's SD card.
the LG-H85030a-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip from above --> SD-Card.
Optional: You can additionally download the MD5 file which is being used by TWRP to verify the ZIP file (simply place it in the same folder like the ZIP).
As a safety measure, I'd clean upgrade with the stock KDZ first using LG UP. This will replace also recovery to stock. If successful, you can continue.
Unlock the bootloader (if not already unlocked) as described here with the official bootloader unlock and flash TWRP. TWRP 3.2.3-2 worked for me. Boot into TWRP as described.
Optional: Do a backup in TWRP.
Format Data: "Wipe" > "Format Data" > type "yes". Wipe slider wipe is not enough!
Go back until you see the TWRP main screen. Then Reboot into Recovery. Don't start into System!
Flash / Install the LG-H85030a-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip and Magisk-v17.1.zip without reboot inbetween.
Reboot to System
enjoy!
To build the ZIPs I used parts of autoprime's previous files. Thx again!
Disclaimer: This is not an official post by LG to update the firmware! Don't blame me if you destroy your phone. If you use these files and instructions you do it at your own risk!

Just curious if above should be in the OP as they are Nougat files unless I'm mistaken.
I've had it with these stock firmware files and images, I'm waiting until a debloated stable custom rom hits. The KDZ hung on boot even after factory resetting and this stock rom wipes twrp every time I reboot causing me to endlessly reflash twrp.

Ok, just for information (and it may be useful to others with the same scenario):
I'm on lineage Oreo, with magisk and twrp 3.2.3.2, can I flash the COMPLETE zip => then twrp => then magisk and get the rom installed keeping twrp and root? I can't access any Windows machine (only Mac) to flash the kdz file, would it work as well if i flash all that stuff in twrp?
Thanks!

I'd give a try but don't blame me if it is not working. Flashing the KDZ was a safety measure to me as I was not entirely sure if flashing COMPLETE alone is enough. But you are already running an Oreo OS, so I'd try it. As long as you have access to TWRP or Bootloader you can flash your working Lineage image and TWRP. However, flashing TWRP after COMPLETE makes no sense in my eyes as COMPLETE does not contain stock recovery.

I flashed yesterday coming from Lineage OS 15, wiped System, Data and Caches, installed Rom and Magisk. It works.
But I do have the bloatware from LG like Facebook App and a lot of others, that I can not entirely uninstall.

Btw. no Vodafone App. Why do we have these different experiences? What's going on?

Use system app remover
Flashed Oreo on two LG G5
One got no bloatware and one came with Vodafone and Orange app
The one without bloatware has the Software Version: V30a-EUR-XX
and the one with bloatware has the Software Version: V30a-214-07
I used the same files for flashing
But the bad thing is on both phones the light doesn't work?!
