Can anyone provide me latest stock firmware for Galaxy J7 2016 (SM-J710FN)? - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

Hi!
I am in need of latest stock ROM available for Galaxy J7 (2016) Indian variant, which should be flashable through Odin.
After last update in my phone, I could not flash the older firmware through Odin. It shows firmware binary as 3 and device binary as 4.
So, that's why I need latest firmware. I tried downloading it from Updato.com but even after downloading twice, the .zip file failed to open.
So, please provide me the latest ROM. Thanks!

Hi!
Yes, I was in stock ROM when I got an update and after that, baseband was updated. Since then, I'm not being able to flash the older firmware through Odin Tools.
Currently I am using debloated stock ROM (older)
Its build number is NRD90M.J710FXXU3BQJ3.
Baseband: J710FXXU4BRA2 (changed after updating)
I tried downloading ROM from Updato and SamMobile but both came out to be corrupted. I tried from PC and my phone both, so I think the upload firmware zip is corrupted.

Ok,
looks like u have updated your Bootloader (BL) to higher version (U4) as shown in your baseband number. You can not downgrade to lower version. Only thing you can do is to flash AP and CSC file (Do not touch BL and CP) from 4 files stock firmware with bootloader of U3. Please give me an email address here so I can send you 4 files firmware (in which there will be 4 files and out of that two files will AP and CSC). I can not write link here as XDA not allowing me to write any link here as I am "junior".

You don't need to be rooted. And I don't think knox will be tripped since you aren't flashing anything that's been modified, only flashing unsigned/modified images via Odin trips knox. But since you are flazing a signed modem you should be fine.

Hi,
Thanks for the guide. Very helpfull. I have a few Noob questions...
1. Do I have to do a full wipe/ cleam install after updating modem, or will the OS remain intact?
2. Where can I find the latest modem for N9005?
3. Is the latest modem always the best, or should I only update if I'm currently experiencing problems with the 'old' modem
Thanks...

1. No need. Just follow the guide, nothing more..
2. Check the modem thread that's in the general section, if you can't find it there then you may have to pull it from the stock FW. Also some roms devs have the modem in their OTA/OP so may wanna check there as well.
3. New isn't always better. Update if you have issues, if something isn't broken then there is no need to fix it.

with the current modem/firmware/bootloader (I don't know what gives me the issue) I cannot use LTE while I have an SM-N9005 and friend of mine with unrooted Note 3 (bought in a shop in our country) has LTE 4g, while I have an Italian CSC.
If I use a modem from an other rom, will I have LTE as well and still have my Knox intact?
Thanks a lot guys

Are you Flashing the Full Firmware to update the bootloader?
Are you Flashing the Correct Firmware for your Carrier and Device?
Your Device is in Download Mode?
USB Debugging is enabled?
You Have the Samsung Drivers installed on your pc?
If the answers to the above is Yes - Try a different USB cable and Port on your pc

Odin flash failed, device 3, binary 2. Help needed!

Hi,
I have a G920F, I was rooted and want to go to stock again. I have restored the device with Smart Switch, but now I am unable to flash any other rom. I have downloaded 3 different roms from Sammobile and get sw. check failed device 3 binary 2 at everyone. The current rom is form Italy Wind the latest OI9. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, probably you trying to install oldest firmware 5.0.1, download the latest firmware and try again. You are with 5.1, right? This error on odin happens, because you cannot downgrade the firmware. Hope this helps.
I think you can not downgrade even if it is the same Android version.
If it detects you are on a newer bootloader it will give you that error.
What I belive you can do is to extract the bootloader (sboot) and modem from the .tar file and flash ONLY the system through Odin.
Don't know exactly how to do that because I haven't done it but I think that would do; you will have to search and read my friend.
You will have the stock firmware but with latest bootloader and modem.
Hope this helps.
Note: As far as I know this will work if its the same Andorid version; you can not have Android 5.0.2 with 5.1.1 bootloader.

Are you sure that you downloaded the correct firmware for your device and Carrier? And where did you get Odin? If you didn't get it from sammobile.com it may be bugged? Never had any issues with sammobile.com - You have Samsung USB Drivers installed on your computer?

Did you ever get this fixed? Having the exact same issue. Galaxy S8+ running on 7... cannot do OTA and flashing gives the same errors in ODIN.... SHA256 on standard ODIN (tried multiple versions) and the patched one give the PIT error.... at a loss with this. FW is up to 9 now for this model.

A530F Sofware Problem

Hello guys. İ am new here and ı dont know how can ı use. İ need help for A530F device. İ rooted this phone and I wanted unroot. İ downloaded odin files and upload to device. Device has not opened when ı upload AP\CSC\CP\BL. But when ı upload just AP device starting but S\N and IMEI unknown. How can ı fix. Pls help me. ( Sorry for my English.)
You have to flash the latest firmware for your device. Failures such as yours are due to old bootloader/modem. They're older than the one on your device.
AP does contain system files and recovery, so it'll flash just fine. You need to find out what your actual modem version is, so you can flash a more recent one, if found.
If you can provide more information about your firmware, it'll help us help you.
Firstly, what it means flash.
I have already downloaded latest version (A530FXXULCUI1 TUR). But device not open.

Flash means to install something through the recovery. Or Odin.
Can you flash the modem (CP) alone? Using Odin? Can you flash the bootloader (BL) alone?
If it does flash successfully, you should receive your signal back. Unless you have a problem with your EFS partition.
