How to tab between open apps by swiping? - General Questions and Answers

Hi I own a blackview A9 pro running 7.0
Earlier today while using my phone i discovered that i could tab to any open app by swiping left or right from the edge of my screen. After pressing my home button this feature no longer works. I'm not sure what i did to enable but it definitely doesn't work anymore.. Does anyone know the name of feature and if so, how do i enable it again?

[Q] GT-P3113 AOSP Flashed No Home Bar

Hi all,
I have built JB for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" from AOSP. It boots up sucessfully, looks to be working, and by disabling the physical keyboard I can get the keyboard to work on screen.
However, the bar that is usually on the bottom of the actual touch screen is missing. It contains the home button, the back button, and I think the apps button. It's hard to navigate between apps without it.
I was wondering if anyone has encountered something similar to this? Or can suggest a direction to take?
Thanks!
What height is it set at in ROM control ( if AOSP has one )? What dpi are you running at ?
EDIT : sent you PM.

[Q] Silly question: Current Apps

I've googled it and got nothing.
Search this forum and not found it either
On Windows 8, if I scroll my mouse to the left/ left corner of the screen, I can see my current apps.
I can then close them.
With my keyboard connected I can do this on my surface using trackpad.
How do I do it without my keyboard connected?
I don't want to swipe them in, I want to see the icons of the apps I have running so I can close them.

Click to collapse
you have to swipe in from the left a short distance. I don't own a windows touch device but did get a go on a display model, was kinda fiddly to get the distance just right, was probably about half the distance you need to swipe to switch apps. With some practise you should be able to nail it.

There's two behaviours for a short swipe in from the left. I believe the default one is to "swipe in" the last used app. Whereas what you want is to see a list of currently running apps (me too).
Go Settings>Change PC Settings and you're looking for a setting something like "App Switching">"When I swipe in from the left edge, switch between my recent apps instead of showing a list of them". In 8.1 that setting is under PC & devices, I can't recall if it's the same in 8.
The default way to do what you're asking is to swipe in from the left edge, then swipe back to the edge without releasing the swipe. It's a very quick and easy gesture easily made with the thumb; you don't have to swipe in more than maybe 1/4 of an inch (6mm) before swiping off the screen again to get he app switcher sidebar to appear.
To close the apps using touch only, you can do the following:
Drag the app from the sidebar off the bottom of the screen.
thanks, that's great.

[Q] Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and swiftkey

All,
I just bought the Samsung galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Tablet and rooted it successfully. I downloaded swift Keyboard and the problem I am having is that its intermittent. Sometimes it works about 50% of the time and the other times it stays hidden at the bottom of the menu. When I try and bring it up (Pop-up) it just shows a black bar at the bottom of my screen with words i can swap out if I am typing. The full keyboard does not pop-up ? I have to reboot the tablet for it work again? Confused....
Is anyone experiencing this problem? Anyone have a fix?
It's supposed to do that only when it detects an external keyboard..
Perhaps the system has a bug that detects one? Is the Physical Keyboard menu accessable in swiftkey>settings>Input?

I have used Swiftkey successfully on this device, but I mostly prefer the Hackers Keyboard.
Cheers,Russ

Is there any way to access home screen panels directly instead of swiping?

I upgraded from Galaxy S3 to S6 (SM-G920F). I'm running it with the WanamLite Rom, which by the way I find very cool.
On my S3 I was able to access a specific home screen panel directly by tapping the corresponding dot in the home screen. On the S6 it seems this is not possible anymore and you are forced to swipe. Is there any way (setting/mod/customization) to have the home screen panel dots to behave as they used to?
Nova Launcher allows quick access to home screen.
I'm using latest & registered version of Nova on all my gadgets. I prefer the very customized screens that i allows.

Help Please

Hello all I recently got a tab 2 and I decided to use CM11 as my ROM and I was just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the bottem bar where the home, back button and recent app buttons are whenever using the keyboard or when I don't need to use it cause its quite annoying when I try to type and accidently click the home or back button while typing or navigating my phone.
