Mate 8 marshmallow 6.0

Mate 10... Same issue.
Play store error 404 all times...
Something's wrong...

Same **** on me
Hell yeah... same **** on me bro...
I'm using huawei nova and nothing can be installed or updated since last night. error 404.
and, one of my friend who lives in china has S8(bought in china too), same issue occurred.
So it says, all Made-in-China-devices, no matter inside or outside China, may permanently cannot use google play store anymore:crying:
That's all I know, and, waiting for more info.

As I know recently so many people encountered the same issue - error code 404 when downloading from play store.

Sorry, but I cannot 100 percent agree with you.
I have a Chinese version huawei mate 9 which has this issue, but another 2 Chinese version huawei devices (kiwi and cherry, which are honor 5x and 4x) don't have such issue. I guess it is something wrong with build.prop file. After emui 4.0 of huawei, build.prop is a bit strange which is too small, a lot of information are not stored there. Maybe it is the root cause of this issue after the recent upgrade of Google side?

Hi.
Got the same problem on Huawei Mediapad x2 with custom rom.
Clear play store data doesn't help.
Opengapps neither.
Manually upgrading play store and play services also didn't help. It seems like some kind of server sided block or so?
Edit: I'm not sure what I could change in the build.prop file. But is it possible to change the manufacturer and device model to check if Google blocks Huawei?

Play Store error code 404 on Huawei Mate 9 Plus / P10 Plus Chinese version EMUI 8.0
Same problem since Saturday February 3, 2018 morning on Huawei Mate 9 Plus and P10 Plus Chinese version with EMUI 8.0 / Android 8.0.
Tried clear Play Store data, Google Play Services, installed latest Play Store and Google Play Services (on Mate 9 Plus), factory reset on P10 Plus, nothing working, every time since then I tried to upgrade or download applications I get error code 404. Both phones have Chinese ROM. Everything else works fine.

I'm using s8+, bought in Hong Kong, but flashed to Chinese official ROM, also facing the same issue. Tried to remove update for google play store, google play service, but still no luck.
I heard that some s8+ users made it work after flash to HK rom, but I don't want to do that because samsung pay will stops working in China mainland after flash back to HK rom.

There is a file called services.cn.google.xml in /system/etc/permissions on Chinese version of devices with Play services built in. (at least on my friend's S7 edge, which has 404 error when using Play store).
On my Pixel and Nexus 9 I can't find this file (no problem when using Play store). So you may try deleting this file and reboot device to see if it makes a difference. (I don't know if this will work as my friend's phone is not rooted he can't delete the file. Always make a backup before modifying system files.)
-----
UPDATE: Confirmed working. Just delete the file and reboot your device.
It can also be done by deleting the following line from the file (If this doesn't work for you, delete the file).
Code:
<feature name="cn.google.services" />
There is a magisk module for those who have magisk installed (not by me) :https://github.com/fei-ke/unlock-cn-gms/releases

Hi buddy, thx 4 watching!
But, until now I have collected enough info to confirm that, this 404 is a so very bad situation, globally, not only huawei or EMUI's prob.
Here comes something about 404 evert
Try if you can read this(just copy the following blue text into browser's address bar and click go. because I'm a new bee here and posting link is now available for me)

You can also delete the following line from the file.
Code:

I've got Axon 7 A2017 and got the same issue.

Just tried @iKirby 's fix on a S7edge (flashed with Norma ROM) and confirm that is working.
Don't forget to clear cache / Data of Google play app after reboot.
Many Thanks

Cool. :good:
But we have to root our phones in order to modify this .xml file.

for emui8, this ****ing file is located at \system\emui\china\etc\permission folder, just remove e it.

If you don't want to or can't get root access, perhaps you will need to wait for Google or device manufacturers' response.
I guess the config file is for Google play services to detect whether the device is China mainland version. If it is, some features will be automatically disabled to prevent battery drain caused by keeping trying to connect to blocked Google servers.

installing google dialer on honor 8

i couldn't install the google dialer apk on my honor 8 phone (FRD-L04). Tried sideloading various versions of it downloaded from apk mirror, nothing get installed.
Could somebody help out if you have managed to install the same
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.dialer
Google store says my phone isn't compatible.
Are you rooted?
Is your phone rooted? It's the only way this will work.
Take this apk, use a root file explorer (I like solid explorer) and copy it to root/system/priv-app. Then edit the read/write permissions ( I usually enable everything).
You can also use link2sd to make the apk a system app.
Then just reboot your phone and you should be good to go.
You'll have to go to apps, settings, pick defaults, and choose it as the dialer.
Also, if you are rooted, you can then delete the stock dialer, but be careful, you might delete the wrong thing and then no phone for you. (I had that issue, but a kind forum member was able to get me the missing apk)
If somehow it DOES get messed up, you'll have to reflash via dload, or get the correct apks and place them on priv-app (again, if you're rooted)
thanks for the reply.. i don't want to root my phone though..

Not sure how the compatibility check works..
Google has published these contacts and Phone / dialer app in play store. but its not installable in all phones..
i followed another thread..
and installed google contacts sync apk, (gave it all permissions) then contacts apk and then dialer apk, this way i am able to get the dialer app installed (but its version 3.x only, other versions i couldn't get install),
Now i got the Dialer icon (blue) one it opens the regular dialer interface. but when i make call the interface goes to Honor 8 dialer app interface.. not sure how this works..

I know this is a few months old...
I was looking for a higher version number of Google Dialer that could be compatible with the Honor 8.
To the best of my knowledge, this is the only version compatible: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...71529-nonnexus-android-apk-download/download/
I've used this very same version on my Moto X Pure.

This is best compatible with AOSP ROMs.
Wasn't the first question about installing Google Dialer on an Honor 8? It was even stated that they tried to sideload multiple different versions as well... from APK Mirror... the same place I shared the link from. I merely wanted to state that the version I linked to is the last version that I know personally works on phones that aren't Nexus/Pixel. All you can do is try it or not. It works. Just download, install normally, set it to default app.
The dialer installs just fine on the honor 8. I'm running it right now. There's a few threads about how to do it correctly here on XDA. First rule, search before asking.

This isn't a new thread - it's months old. Someone just resurrected it by adding a new comment. And yes, the app can be side loaded onto the Honor 8, but it will only be the dialer and contact list UI. The in call UI will remain stock and caller id will not work.
Results with rooted devices may vary though.

Installing GAPPs suite on Honor 9 (Chinese Version) - NO ROOT NECESSARY

Hello alL,
I come to bring you good news. I have managed to install google play store and other Google Apps on the Chinese version of the Honor 9 (WITHOUT ROOT).
For anyone wondering, here are the steps.
1 - Download this file to your Honor 9.
2 - Decompress the zip file and install "Google Installer_2.0.apk". Don't touch the other files.
3 - Run this app (the newly installed one with the chinese name) and confirm using the Green button near the bottom.
4 - Confirm all prompts for authorisation, ensuring you select "Trust app" to give it full permissions. This will install the core "Google Play Apps Suite" as a user app, meaning that you will be able to uninstall "Play store" by simply dragging it to the top. See 1st screenshot.
5 - Check if Google Play Store has been installed and is working. If android complains about "Missing GMSs", reboot and try again. If still you have problems, try downloading "GMSInstaller apk" from an internet mirror of your choice.
See attached screenshots for proof that it works!
Great guide! Thanks for sharing. This is a safer way than rebrand, but rebrand will bring you a full Europe/US EMUI. You will not see any left-over Chinese characters.
The only downside is you'll be left with some Chinese letters here and there :/
But, it's easier than rebranding
Is there a lot of Chinese left so that it becomes difficult to use the phone? Or more like a minor nuisance? I'm currently in China and positively drooling at the local retail price but I've no access to a computer for rebranding.
Hi, I tried this procedure, I managed to install all the GApps but when I try to login or add google account the phone freezes for a moment and nothing happens. Same behavior on YT, while on Gmail and Play Store it still says "GMS Installer required". I guess that with a chinese phone you need to flash it anyway or it can't reach google servers. Am I right?

Hi,
I previously installed google services successfully using GMSinstaller when I first got my Honor 9 in August.
Now it is upgraded to B201 and because it always crashes when it comes to google play, I ran GMSinstaller again which asked me to uninstall every google related apps.
I did so but now it is impossible to install google again
GMS installer will only propose me to uninstall previously installed google apps, then reboot.
I tried several "Google Installer" including this one, none of them are working.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks
It seems like this B201 update patches the GMS installer

I tried removing all the google stuff (framework, account manager, services, sync) then manually install each of them : still doesn't work.
Does anyone with B201 firmware succeed to install Google ?
Is it possible to downgrade without root/unlock ?
One thing I have not tried yet is reset to factory, If I do so I am wondering if a backup from HiSuite will restore everything...

But my fear was confirmed : after restoring from HiSuite Backup, I lost some datas in my apps and also all my notes in the notes app
In the end got Google back, that's the most important !!

To achieve your goal, simply follow these guidelines:
Download the Chat Partner APK file directly from your smartphone. It is an application that allows you to easily install Google Services on your smartphone
Once the download is complete, click on the file directly from the notification drop-down and proceed with the installation following the instructions on the screen (or use a common File Manager to proceed)
Once installation is complete, start the newly installed program. DO NOT login when requested, but click on the Detect device item
At this point, click on Repair Now and automatically you will be sent back to the Google page where you will have to enter your credentials with email and password
Following these steps, you will need to restart your smartphone
Upon restart, you can open the Play Store and access your Google account: from now on you can download all the Google apps directly from the Play Store.

Hello, I have a Mate 30 Pro latest version LIO-N29 10.0.0.192 that is having the same issue (Device is not play protect Certified) I also used device info app and copied Google Service Framework ID (GSF) and then registered on the google site for uncertified devices but it is still throwing up the same error. Can you please share your method. Thanks
All my apps are still working under google and updating fine.
Could it be that they are "targeting" the Chinese versions. Mine is an international model...or do we receive this error only when trying to register a new installation?
It is absolutely necessary in order to install right Google services that the Mate 30 Pro has had a factory reset before.
And when they are going to be installed, follow the steps without failures.

As i said before, Fresh Device, everything installs properly, google uncertified page shows registered but still popping up. Some one on another forum mentioned that new devices that haven`t had GMS prior to the popup issue are the ones that can`t get certified. Mate 30 pro`s that already had GMS installed are able to get certified and hence not have the popup certification issue anymore.

same problem
Recent method 1 and method 2 are not working. what happens is that LZPlay is not integrating the .apk as system files and for this, they do not work. Take great care of your previously installed GMS.
is there any solution? an application that has the same administrative permissions to install apks and move them to the system?
Google has blocked all of these methods from working. I understand that Trump has put Huawei on the entity list and all that. But we are the end users of the product and we should be able to access Google at our own will.
Especially for us consumers that reside outside of the us that Google also has offices in.

Google Framework Services issue on Mate 30 Pro 5G and lost my GMS :(

Hi, I have Google Play Services (beta tester) at Play Store.
Recently and last days sometimes I received a message system from my Mate 30 Pro 5G that says:
Battery usage details:
Google Services Framework continuously searches for bluetooth devices in the background. Force stop to save power. (in Spanish).
And as you can see I cannot force the stop because the button is not enabled.
Should I leave Play Services Beta tester ??

And I have got the same Google Services Framewrok as you ...
I had a problem with the Google services framework on my Mate 30 Pro.
The Huawei system kept telling me that this service framework drains the battery quickly.
Wanting to see a bit what was happening, I fiddled where I shouldn't have and deleted the data from the Play Services app ... and hat the Mate 30 Pro that I had with Google services installed since December 2019 has gone to hell !!!
My fault for doing what I should NOT do.
Following your last tutorial, and after a factory reset of the phone, when you want to install in STEP-1 the 2 apk files of the Backups (previously uninstalled following your video tutorial, the Mate 30 tells me that the Backup app exists a newer version on my device, and remove it.
And of course, I can't find it, and the Backup Copy doesn't appear in the Settings menu now to continue with the rest of the tutorial.
What can happen to me ??
Thanks and sorry for this
PS: I don't know if the new EMUI 11 version that it has causes it to generate any conflict.
The issue is that with this method, if I delete the Backup app that comes with the Mate 30 Pro, and I try to install the 2 apks that you provide in step-1, the phone won't let me install them because it already tells me that I have one latest version.
And then when I go to Settings, Backup is gone ... because I have uninstalled it as you mark in the tutorial.
ADDED: The message that I get after successfully uninstalling Backup, and installing the first Backup apk is:
Install failed
Reason: You already have a newer version of this application.
I asked to Eloy Gomez at a Spanish forum becuase he teached to me last december, 2019 how to install them following his tutorial but at the moment I don't received any reply.

I can't use it because I have EMUI 11 and that apk doesn't work at that OS update.
