You can see below a comparative table for security update policy status at January 2018.
Android security update isn’t very good, but it’s better yet that 2 years ago. Only Google try to do the minimum we need for security update.
Android Tablet are the worst case, like nobody care about security update.
What do you experienced and what do you think about this?

Hey, not sure why you wrote that but the Surface RT/Surface 2 and Surface pro/pro 2 are still being updated, so you should update that table!
Yes you have partly right. OS update with security update are available for all Surface device, but Firmware update aren't available for older Surface (Before Surface 3).

I will update this in a new version.

Samsung has begun quietly rolling out the long-desired Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note. When it arrives, it'll add the latest edition of Google's OS and the "Premium Suite" full of stylus S-pen friendly apps like S Note, Shape Match and My Story to your 5.3-inch phablet. The company is yet to confirm the launch, but several European users are already on the ICS bandwagon, with others expected to join soon -- but let's be honest, it's gonna feel like decades until that blessed notification pops up. Oh man ,,,can anyone post it for downloading plzzzzzzzzzz
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi all,
I was notified of a software update for my MT7-L09....would this be the EMUI and Android update? Yep, it was
The download goes straightforward...rebooting too....but installation fails.
This the second time I have this problem...it happened also with the first Android 5.1 update that was announced for my phone, somewhere around August 2015 I think.
In the installation guideline it said that this version MT7-L09 V100R001C00BXXX can be updated (I'm on MT7-L09 V100R001C00B145 right now).
Any other MT7-L09 users having the same trouble....and/or a solution?

Well...when I connect the MT7-L09 to HiSuite...I seem to have the latest version.
Android 4.4.2 it will be then!
Maybe Huawei should take a bit more care with roll-outs...it gets a bit confusing in the end.
Any other remarks on this un-installable Rom is welcome!
As a long time android user i think samsung would benifet more by giving its customers and users some newer software.. what would it take to get samsung to update to android n.. i know somethings get samsung to update so im kinda wondering what would get them to update. I think after the 4th or 5th 6.0.1 update that has done it for me on 6.0.1..
Most of the OEMs only cares about the high end sections aka mainstream phones and meanwhile budget phones ⅓ get any update and even then it's just maintenance.

Nougat update will be coming for J700F 2015
Hey there.
I have read an artice about Huawei updating P30 PRO to Harmony OS. I wasn't written if update is optional or it will be updated automaticaly. I am asking because i want to buy this phone second hand and i do not want to lose Google play services...
Thank you
like all system updates it is optional, updating likely wont make you lose gms as harmony os is just android 10 on 2020 November security patch

look
I see, you're posting in the mate 30 pro forum for which it has already rolled out.
Just thought I'd ask about this since I noticed that the 865+ processor in the 8T is supported on Windows 11. I'm not even sure I would run it but I might be interested in trying it if anyone knows how to install it, especially if dual boot was possible although that seems unlikely.
W11 was installed on 6T. So i see no reason for it not working on 8T.
The OnePlus 6T is the latest smartphone to run Windows 11 - Gizmochina
Windows 11 was announced last week, and while it won’t begin rolling out to users until later this year, Microsoft has released a preview for insiders. Since that happened, we have seen the new operating system get ported to a number of devices it wasn’t designed for. The latest device to get...
