Hello to everyone,
I have a simple and maybe fool question. Does the Sense versión of HTC U11 Life (2q3f300) can be switched to Android One version???
Thanks in advance.
At the moment there is no known way, and it would be a lot of work you would need to repartition the device, currently there is no firmware and system available for android one version. But even if those would be available thats no guarantee that you could convert a sense device into an android one. But even if you would buy an android one version somewhere outside the us and pay the taxes it should be cheaper than the us sense version.

I'm sure this is in the wrong place, but it does have a lot to do with the Hero ROM porting that's goign on here. HTC Brazil's website is showing off the Magic with Sense. Anyone come across this built yet? I'm sure it will work a lot better than Hero ROM ports since it's official from HTC! http://htcsource.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=732&Itemid=51
Great news!!! Thanks for that Nick.... really looking forward to the official release
Damn i was hoping the brazillian magic phone had our low ram. Would this really change anything?
salivating... hope it can be made into a suitable rom for 32a soon

We are just waiting for a Brazilian person to extract it and we can have it too (I think so).. I was reading it and there's good and bad news!!!
Good:
Is really the 1st HTC Sense Ui officially on a Magic!
Bad:
All stores from the Brazilian market listed on the HTC website from the link there, hasn't the equipment available and only the TIM network are promoting the Android phone and asking for filling a form for a pre-release/information (I didn't feel it) about an Android phone (I think it can be the Magic).
soooo.. any brazilians got it !! if not HURRY THE F UP!

I doubt it~! I didn't see for sale it yet on any of the authorized HCT Brazilian shop!! We will have to wait, maybe the release date is the same that our so WANTED update will be released!
that sucks.. so does anyone have a magic with a hero rom that is fast.. and you are satisified with it?
I will not be satisfied till our ui is up to speed with the ones in iphone..
I can get nooo..
satisfaction...

I'm not sure any Andrid UI will ever be as fast as the iPhone. The iPhone UI is only an icon list and that's pretty much it. We'll need a Snapgragon powered Android phone from HTC to acheive a no-lag Sense experience.
i am excited about this. having a native sense ui made specifically for the magic is good news and hopefully will improve performance since we dont have to port from the hero to the g1 to the magic. once it's released we just need one of the devs to root it for us haha then we can install like a normal rom, i think, right? i dont want to lose root to install this.

HTC will release the Magic in Brazil only in the 2nd half of October. And IIRC TIM Brasil will launch BOTH the Magic and the Samsung Galaxy.

Since HTC controls this.. it sounds like it will be as well the time as well that we will have our so DESIRED HTC Sense UI updates! But, anyway we'll see..
Hope that I'm wrong in the good way (that they release first the update, since is already made)! One month to go..
midway october is still 3 weeks away , hope someone get a piece before hand and can make a dump and put it up for people to breakdown.
can't wait ! Singapore's one is releasing on Nov, one month later of wait

nativ or not. the problem is the same...
the htc magic in brasil is using 288 mb of ram.
its good for the 32a users but 32b has the same problem as now
even tho it has 288 mb ram , it will still be a better port of Sense as compared to the current one which is of a whole different model , so this would have lesser bugs and im sure with some swap in place it would be pretty snappy for those who have the 32B as well
The main benefit I see from this is that the LED and Bluetooth issues should finally be resolved.

probably part of LED fix is most likely a fully functioning trackball blink/notification
Hello,
I'm looking for a specific information on the forums but can't find it... i mean, i read something on a topic and the total opposite on another so I thought i could open a new thread to ask it simply...
Birthday of my brother-in-law is getting close and he own a Galaxy Gio for the last year. He was very hostile to smartphones and especially touch screens (as he never used a capacitive before that) and is very pleased with it, despite the fact that internal memory is so poor that he constantly have to uninstall apps to try new ones... App2SD is not working for everything...
Now is the time to buy a new one... budget is 300€ max and after looking a lot of videos on YouTube, HTC One S seems the right choice, despite the fact it is getting "old". HTC One SV which is more young is, imho, not as good and the back design is not elegant like the One S.
First difficulty is to find the S4 version... but i know they have different references and clock speed of the CPU is also different so it is not that hard to know what you buy before you buy.
I'd like to know what is actually the latest stock version of Android available from HTC. Personally, i don't mind tricking my own smartphone, unlock bootloader and install custom roms to find which one suits the best to me (i have a Galaxy Nexus so getting the latest Android version is not really a problem) but my brother-in-law is definitely not a geek and won't even consider doing it. I wish he could experience the JB experience (butter project, ...) with the One S and wonder if both models (S3 and S4) already have an official JB update... and, if positive, which version is it ?
Last but not least, do you think HTC is going to provide an additional update in the future for this One S... and, if positive, what could be given ? Maybe Sense 5.0 ?
Thank you for taking the time to answer me !
The S4 runs on 4.1.1 currently.
HTC has gone on record to say that One S will receive the Sense 5 update is expected sometime in July. HTC hasn't specified whether that'll be 4.1.2 or 4.2, although 4.2 is more likely.
So my buddy got the HTC One M8 running Windows Phone as an upgrade. He wanted the Android version, but when it came time to buy they had none left in stock so he got this one instead.
He still wants Android, though, so my question is this: is there any known method to install Android onto an M8 that originally came with WP? I understand it would probably need a different recovery installed, but beings as the hardware is exactly the same.

Nope there is no method and probably never will be. There is no wide developer audience and with a possible Windows M9 coming they most likely won't bother this far into the year.
Is this still the same answer?

as much as the device is dead developing wise at least we're still getting official updates

It's true about 15 days promised updates, but HTC never guarantee anything about the A9 getting updates for two years after its release, unlike the guarantee provided to the flagships. This isn't strange at all, as other manufacturers couldn't even promise that to their flagships, much less their midrange handsets (I had to say that because I keep forgetting that this awesome phone I'm carrying is not a flagship ). So while this is still less than one year after release and we *should* safely expect it, the news is something to be happy about.
As far as I remember Jason McKenzie said they will give as updates for at least 2 years. I hope for all the countries.
Hope some dev can make for international cusrom rom once it has released new version of Android N. on htc one A9

The quote I did find was about the 15-day update (in a tweet here, also quoted in many other articles about this), but nothing about a guaranteed 2-year Android update. In the mean time, HTC repeatedly came up with their statement guaranteeing that their flagship devices (M7, M8, M9, 10) will be updated for two years (and they have proven it).
So, if you've seen a 2-year update promise by HTC specifically for the A9, can you find me a link of the quote? Not that I don't believe you, but back when the A9 was released a 2-year update promise is one that I specifically was looking for, and I found none. It would give me peace of mind if I know for sure that someone did say it.
It was either in the live presentation if I remember correctly. I'll try to find a link later.

How to do it? I downloaded the RUU file for Unlocked/Developper but the installation loads then crashes after I choose to accept agreement.

Before anybody tells me this is the wrong place to post, I just want to ask a couple of questions.

The link above is the 128gb/6gb model of the HTC u11. Ive a funny feeling it is from the Asian market. I just want to know if HTC updates this phone just like the European market. I have a LG G4 and I hate it because LG skips many updates that are pushed to the Eu model and just bundles them into one update to cover another half year of no updates. Also does HTC deliver when it comes to monthly security patches and general updates. I hope they dont skip android versions x.1.1 like LG does. Thank you for listening to my rant.
Same situations here. I have an LG G4, and I want to switch to the HTC U11. I am interested to the 6/128 GB edition from the same site (the price also is very good). I've sent an email yesterday to eglobalcentral and the saw me that the smatphone is for the ASIA market...but the specs are the same of the EU market units (checked from HTC official website). I don't know about firmware updates for the India market..
