Upgrade to OOS 5.1.6 from 5.1.5 using unofficial TWRP

I am using the Oos 5.1.5 and running unofficial TWRP 3.2.1-0 (i think, but sure its the unofficial build). I am rooted using magisk 16.4.
I want to upgrade to oos 5.1.6 using the zip file and also be rooted and also upgrade to twrp official version for oneplus 6 (if its better than unofficial).
So i want to upgrade to oos 5.1.6 using the twrp through the oos zip file.
If its possible please guide me. Btw i dont want to lose twrp or root or magisk......
Thank you in advance.....
I have upgraded my device using vpn for my phone now frequently freezes after so.e time of usage. I need to than power off and on the phome again.
You will lose twrp, root and magisk when you upgrade - it is unavoidable because of how the A/B partitions work. However , it's easy to get back.
There are multiple how-to guides in the Guides forum. Here's one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/how-to-update-oos-5-1-6-install-t3801822
Just download the full zip locally. Flash it in twrp. Boot into fastboot. Flash twrp boot img through adb command which boots you into temporary official twrp. Then flash the official OP5 twrp zip which your can find through Google. Reflash magisk.

Procedure for custom rom to stock or custom rom to custom rom

guys, i have a little confusion:
What's the correct procedure for reinstall the stock OOS from a custom rom and the procedure for change custom rom to another one?
i ask this because every time i try i brick the phone. (so msmntool and lose internal storage)
my latest experiment:
i was on Havoc, rooted and blue_twrp
full wiped (cache's, data and system)
installed Full 9.0 OTA+ twrp on slot A
rebooted to twrp
installed again Full 9.0 OTA+ twrp on slot B
installed magisk
rebooted to system...
keep boot on recovery and also i canno't decrypt sdcard because twrp doesn't ask me the pin....
someone suggested to me to format data, but i don't want to lose my internal storage anytime...
help?
The best thing to do to avoid all of thi bs is to follow this guide:

You dont have to flash the rom to both the slots. Just make a clean flash without format data.
First of all, Stay Encrypted
Now from custom rom to Oxygen OS make a clean flash so follow the below:
Must Use Bluspark TWRP
1. Wipe Dalvik, System, Data & Cache
2. Flash the Full OxygenOS Rom Full Zip (Links available on my threads Beta or Stable Pie)
3. Flash the TWRP installer Zip
4. Reboot to RECOVERY to make sure TWRP stays and continue to root.
5. Flash Magisk Stable to maintain root (Avoid Beta)
6. Reboot System and Enjoy the latest firmware without any data loss
Make sure you follow above and also make sure:
1. Use Bluspark TWRP
2. Move from Pie To Pie / Pie to Oreo or Oreo to Pie might require a format.
Similarly follow the same if you want to move from Oxygen OS to Custom Rom, check the rom thread if the developer needs you to flash anything extra or firmware files.
Hope the above helps :good:

Have you tried the GMS Core apk?
About one year ago, I found a GMS Core available on Google Drive - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B64ADSfC5LHbMHdlZ2ZONVhXVWM
But I am not sure that it is still available there and whether it will work for you.
Just for your reference.

It seems that you've tried a lot of things.
I assume you have successfully rooted the phone?
Which other versions of software are you speaking of? Custom ROMs or just apps that would take the place of Google Play?
Have you tried flashing MindTheGapps instead?

Otherwise unless you absolutely have to use stock ROM on the phone I would recommend LineageOS. I installed this on a Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos (not china version) myself a while ago and it works great.
Make sure you do a full backup of your phone in TWRP before you flash if you want to try this!
Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE Duos (China) (G9006W/8W) (kltechnduo) - LineageOS ROMs
LineageOs ROM Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos (China) (SM-G9006W, SM-G9008W, SM-G9009W) kltechnduo Official roms Download last nightly build (2022-12-23) (mirror EU).LineageOS 18.1 – [ Android 11.0 (Red Velvet Cake) ] [Recovery file (2022-12-23) (mirror EU)] Previous version (nightly) (2021-03-27)...
lineageosroms.com
For rooting LineageOS 18.1 you need Magisk
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v23.0/Magisk-v23.0.apk
This is how I did it:
FLASHING LineageOS 18.1 IN TWRP RECOVERY
Firstly Format Data (instead of a simple Wipe Data)
Then do an Advanced Wipe of Cache, Dalvik+Art Cache & System
** THIS STEP WILL WIPE YOUR PHONE OF ALL DATA **
Then flash LineageOS and MindTheGapps one after the other, in that order & in one go without restarting the phone!
Exit out of TWRP Recovery by rebooting into System.
FLASHING Magisk 23.0 IN TWRP RECOVERY
Download Magisk23.0.apk from official Magisk website and rename it to Magisk.zip.
Flash the Magisk.zip file.
Exit out of TWRP Recovery by rebooting into System.
On first boot after installing Magisk phone reboots on boot animation once.
Once phone is booted, start the Magisk app and allow it to install the full app.
I LEAVE NO GUARANTEES this will work for you so it's on your OWN responsibility if you choose to try it. I can only say it worked for me.

lineageos 17.1 gapps issue

hi;
well i tried 19 again didn't back up gapps version and tried 11/arm/pico versions i get error 20 when sideloading gapps and even when using twrp 3 and using install.
any help would be great this error happens in win 11 and linux with latestr adb and fast boot installed.
Try installing it via the latest twrp from the official website:
Download TWRP for lux
Download TWRP Open Recovery for lux
eu.dl.twrp.me
If that doesn't work, try installing it with the oldest twrp available from here:
[TWRP][lux] TWRP for Moto X Play
This is my version of TWRP built for the 2015 Moto X Play. It should work fine, but using it is a try at your own risk procedure. Your bootloader must be unlocked to use this recovery. Fastboot mode is used to flash or boot this recovery. To...

Also, maybe try some other gapps package, it's possible that opengapps isnt compatible with that lineage version. See if any gapps are recommended on the lineage forum page and use that. Some good alternatives are NikGapps and LiteGapps.
Make sure to try different roms as well, prefferably stable ones such as lineage 17.1 from here:
[ROM][EOL][OFFICIAL] LineageOS 17.1 weeklies [lux]
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project...

Try lineage 17.1 again from the above link, but make sure to follow the instructions and read the page carefully, it says that you need a nougat base, and if you are coming from nougat stock, then you need to wipe /data.
