A huge help here guys... soft or hard bricked? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First things first... bear with me because the story is long
A friend of mine was trying to update his Xoom 2 MZ608 to some custom rom from here (I really don't remember which one was).... but it seems he is a very anxious person and tried to flash a MZ602 into this MZ608 tablet... well, unnecessary to say he bricked the tablet...
Few days later, after he struggled at all efforts he could find, he totally gave up and sold this device to me.... I really thought it would be an easy job, as long I'm used to do these things.... but, turns out, it wasn't =D
what is happening?
the tablet got stuck on Motorola logo with Dual-Core written below of it...
- i cannot access RSD, for some weird reason
- when I try to go to Android Bootloader, i got a "battery low, cannot program" message ((even if the tablet spent 2 days plugged))
- for some reason, SOMETIMES i can access using fastboot, but, as long something is completely messed up inside, the tablet can't read the battery values property and turn off way before i can send any command to it....
what you guys advice me to do?? I took this tablet into a Motorola certified shop here and they said me they don't do this kind of job anymore.... all 3 shops said the same thing....
any help?? =)
Cheers =)

Are you selling it? I would be interested in buying at a fair price.
I am the one compiling the Xoom roms again for Wingray. (using Schischu's sources)

[Q] Custom ROM for MID knock-off tablet

I have sh***y tablet with some useless modified version of android ( or at least seems so). I'd like to know if there is custom android ROM for those cheap chinese tablets that are on the market right now. And also how to flash it eventually
Ive got the same man. I cant even find out how to put it into recovery mod. Its not worth the time or effort.
I have one of those tablets too... They are a ****, I should have saved those $100... in order to buy a real tablet!
Help is here!
Hey guys, I completely agree that these tablets are useless right out of the box. After doing a lot of searching I found some custom ROM's that make these tablets 1000% better. Just got to techknow.freeforums.org/wm8650-1-3-0-hybrid-honeycombmod . There is a forum where you can identify your tablet and then download one of these amazing ROM's. You can thank me later.
If any of you would bother searching, you'll notice that there are a few dozen different threads regard chinese tablets and custom roms. You need to identify which tablet you have, what chipset it's running and then read through the threads.

SAME HERE - TREK HD 9020a = total PoFS!! Lasted less than 2 months b4 it bricked
Yep I was dumb enough to believe the douchebag at AT&T when he told me I could get a new nice which was supposed to be a Samsung tablet but they were out & conveniently said they wouldn’t get anymore of the Samsung’s in so I would have to take the trek junk or nothin. It lasted 2months tops b4 it bricked all on its own somehow - guy I got it from said there wasn’t anything they could do so basically I got f’d paying several hundred dollars 4 a 5 dollar made in China sweat shop piece of fn **** bcuz I had to pay 10 per month no matter what til the time was up or I had paid off what was supposed to be FREE.!! YEAH RIGHT! If any1 was curious what phone I got with the tablet I got this Samsung note 5 - total price of SH!T too & the 1 & only time I have ever left my jailbroke iPhone b4 or since. Lol. But i found the old trek hd 9020a & figured I’d c if by now maybe some1 had a good recovery rom & a way to load it onto a bricked device. Can any1 help please? Thanks in advance - sorry it was a bit long. Only thing it will do is bring up the AT&T android logo screen at the start & the stays on anywhere from a few seconds to maybe a minute then it goes right back to unresponsive blank screen til ya do another hard reset.

[Q] Getting rid of the Stock Boot Screen

So I´ve got the Wi-fi version of the 7 inch gtab, GT-P1010, and it´s runnin Froyo version 2.2.2, but I´ve got root access.
The thing is I got it at a discounted price from a big Retailer down here(Peru), and they stuck their damned brand name on it every time it turns on or off, do you guys know of any way of getting rid of it? I´ve seen a couple other posts, but they mentioned it might vary if its a wi-fi version, I would think that since it doesn´t have a carrier concerned with hacking or w/e that it´d be easier, but I don´t know.
Any help would be greatly apreciated! and im not much of a modder, so I´d need an explanation through easy street lol.
thanks in advance!
since its rooted, try ROM Toolbox app ... you find it on the market
Experiment at your own risk. Should be pretty safe though.
This is my post which is closely related.

Bricked Tablet ??

Hello,
After a failed upgrade I'm getting an error when booting the tablet. There is no actuall error just the EEE PAD startup screen, but it does not move from there.
Cold boot gave no results, wipe data gave no results, and the RCK give me a 'dead' android charater after 20 seconds.... Otherwise when trying to boot normally it is stuck on the EEE PAD screen.
Letting the battery drains was not much help either.
Thank you
Your device is bricked, and AFAIK you will only be able to unbrick it if we get an unlocked bootloader. That way you will be able to flash a new ROM through recovery with an SDcard
You've just put me off rooting my TF300.
Sorry to read about your trouble.
Why should this deter you from rooting? Just don't flash things from other devices, and you'll be fine.
Yeah just make sure to follow directions

You've already taken the most important step - reading, reading and reading before you do anything that you're not comfortable with.
Take your time and continue reading. Find out for yourself who knows their stuff and does a really good job explaining the steps. Learning and understanding are key to not bricking your device.
I waited a couple of months before I finally took the plunge with my Droid Charge. The difference in just rooting and debloating was like night and day. As delivered by Verizon, the phone sucked. Now I love it.
While waiting for the TF300, I immersed myself into the Prime forum just to see what's up. Hit the TF300 forum as soon as created. Knew exactly what to do and not do when I received it.
There's a ton of good info here on your device, how to use it, great apps and games, and support when you need it. There's no rush as there's nothing you have to do. It really is supposed to be fun!
Thank you for the comments...
Well,
Thank you for the comments. I am not exactely a newbie. I've roote my phones many times many way. And I did the same to my Zepad before it finally broke down.
I did read the instruction and follow them carefully. Having said that my mistake was to assume that the ZT201 rom would work since the one I downloaded did not!
Now that I am fairly sure there is nothing I can do about it (except use nvflash, but I would need to find some information such as the secure boot key, etc...) does anyone know if Asus can unbrick it? Maybe I should send them the device....

Sorry for the misunderstanding - no slight intended. I believe we were actually responding to the post of not wanting to root.
I've been working with a tablet for 1 1/2 weeks. First ASUS device. Samsung phones are quite different (locked vs unlocked bootloaders). I'd love to help but I'm woefully unqualified. All I can suggest is looking in the TF101 and Prime forums since they're both from ASUS...
Seriously - best of luck with it.
just send it in for an RMA. that's your only hope.

No offense taken... You are quite right anyway, Samsung is different, the Zepad even more so. I was merely stating a fact: I may not be a pro (if I were I would not have done this stupid thing), but I do not consider myself to be a newby and I am open to suggestion to fix it, but it seems that my best shot is to return to vendor.
Thanks for the encouragement. Really appreciate (I'm having a dark moment!)
Warm Regards
Please let us know how this works out for you (hopefully for the best!)

[HELP] Hard Bricked (QHSUSB_DLOAD) MyTouch 4G {LGE739}

Hello Forums,
OK, for starters, I am a total newbie to phone unlocking/rooting/modding/ect. And it has started out on a sour note. A few days ago, my mother gave me her old Mytouch 4g that she didn't need anymore so I could test ROMs out on and just generally experiment with it. So, excited, I turned off the phone and went to bed. When I woke up the next day, eager to start testing with the phone, to my dismay, I couldn't power on the phone, nor could I boot into recovery mode, or do ANYTHING for that matter. Confused, I plugged the phone into my PC. and to my absolute horror, the computer "Could not find the correct drivers for device 'QHSUSB_DLOAD' ". Now remember, I haven't so much as touched the phone before now, and I really doubt that my mom was playing around with the bootloader at work. So why the heck is it id'ng itself as a Qualcomm Hi-Speed USB device? Since I'm a noob, I wanted to consult people who actually know what they're doing before I tried anything, So what do you guys think I should do? :crying: Remember, this phone has never been messed with, it has everything stock from the factory loaded on it. P.s, this isn't the HTC version, this one is made by LG, the serial is LGE739. If you need any more info just ask me. Many thanks guys!

My Phone turn off suddenly, help me please!!

Hey guys. I have a problem I tried to speak Spanish as forums but got HTCMania solve anything.
Before I thought it was problem of CM 11 that I turned off the phone suddenly (not restart, it shuts down) and occurred 1 time every 3 or 4 days, now increasingly occurs more often, yesterday I turned off the phone 6 times, this night while sleeping 3 times went out. It made me late for work again because the phone was turned off and the alarm did not go off ... following tips, did not solve anything. I factory reset everything I installed the stock ROM without root or anything, I installed Paranoid Android, SlimKat, Illusion ... nothing, with all the ROM I just turn off the phone. Not have more than 3 ½ months of use and this has been happening since 1 month. I gather it can be battery problem or the device itself, but it is something that has no solution for me. I live in Venezuela and bought me phone my mother and sent from Spain, along with the bootloader already unlocked, the warranty is not going to accept me or have possibility to send. I have searched a thousand Internet sites (Venezuela because the outside you can not buy anything here) and I do not find the battery moto G, to buy and to me installed in a technical service, but even on Amazon U.S. found nothing .
I fell into despair because I can not find any solution, I've calibrated the battery and also keeps shutting off, so I already was without resources, ideas and nothing to do but to stay with the phone and continuously be aware that if the phone turns off,,,, I have to turn it on again, buy an alarm clock to not be late for work again.
Continue pending if anyone can give me some solution, try anything, because nothing I lose ... buy a phone in this country is an impossible task because notice that a regular phone range Moto G (which is cheaper) costs Complete 4 months my salary.
Again thank you very much for your help and am awaiting any news that they can provide me. Hughs
I can't help you, nor I'll even bother trying.Your phone probably has some hardware fault ( too much gaming on it? ).
But what I wanted to tell you is that, you shouldn't have screwed around with your phone, if you can't afford to lose it. You should have never unlocked the bootloader in first place.
A lesson has been learned.

I unlocked the bootloader because I live far from the site where phone was bought. if phone got any problem I can't send it to warranty anytime so whats suposed I must to do? to be on stock frimware and don't root my phone? so all we must do that? then can't understand why there are lot of scene about root ROMs and all that. of course I know my rosks when I unlock my bootloader and root my phone but is my decission, if noone must unlock the bootloader then this kinds of forums would be useless.
Anytime, this community is the best for this kind of scene, root, ROMs and all around that.
I didn't play too much just played a bit, you really think that suposed hardware problem is because I rooted my phone? I bought it 3 1/2 mounth ago and I didn't have any problem, just 1 mounth ago started with this. I think is a factory problem, maybe hardware maybe battery, but not around root or ROM installed.
I was asking just because maybe someone got the same problem and can help be. I appreciate your cooperation like all kind of cooperation but need solutions, not lessons of what I souldn't do.
Thanks anytime
Replacement batteries can be found on eBay. I'd try that first.

1- you should fomated all your phone ( use TWRP recovery), then flash stock Firmware.
2- after that, you turn off your phone BY YOU and plug chager for 1 day.
3- restart your phone and check.
4- it's my solutions. ,hope it's help.

With that said, I don't think you'll understand even if I paint it for you.
Try reading my post again, give it a thought for a while, eventually it will come to my mind what I'm saying and why.
