[MOD] Remove Navbar stock Oreo - Must have Root - Samsung Galaxy S8 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I was approached to try my Navbar removal mod on your S8, for Oreo. @headphone jack tested it for me and it appears to work. This is for stock Oreo. Flash in TWRP. The one named Magisk is a Magisk mod but must be flashed in TWRP. Only the regular zip has been tried at this point.
Regular zip

any news for no-root devices?

Any way to remove navbar without root on oreo with an apk like on 7.0.. I just updated to oreo & it wiped out the old mod.. I can't stand this navbar

by the way, how to restore back the navbar?

Need TWRP Backup

Hello Everyone

after Restart my navbar was gone
can i fix it ?
idont have any backup from 5.1.1
can any one please upload TWRP backup for MT-L09 ?
Tank you
I'm not sure if this is really relevant, but check your build.prop file for the following line:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
If it's there remove the entire line and reboot. It's a setting that disables the navbar, which I did intentionally. Perhaps you installed an xposed module that somehow screwed with that?
By the way which version of Xposed did you install? Did you get it working?
currently , only a lollipop which is running Xposed is KangVIP Rom B354
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-7/orig-development/rom-kangvip-rom-mate7-emui3-1-b351-t3228597
but there is also a need to edit the build.prop file .

Permanently remove navbar on Oreo and Nougat [Root]

So because right now i'm using gestures and really like them i used to install some apk to hide the navbar with the problem that some app working in fullscreen mode showed the navbar anyway. So i found this line added to build.prop qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 working great. I've tested it on Nougat and works always and , for me, it's working also on latest Oreo CRAP! After you apply it just reboot and enjoy!
Nougat, not Nougart
It's called Nougat, not Nougart. Noticed two threads you started with this typo :cyclops:
simply use the "hide navigation bar" magisk module. navbar is COMPLETELY disabled then..!

You don't need Lineage for stock/rootable/hackable/adaptable Android

The Planet Computers ROM is pretty much bone stock, but with the improvements that allow the Gemini to function like a phone.
Right now I'm rooted with TWRP and running Xposed modules no problem, and it's about as stock an experience as you can get. You're able to use Gravity Box, etc with no issues whatsoever. The Xposed you need is arm64 sdk25 and the rooted boot-verified.img is provided on Planet Computers' website.
All you need to do is:
Flash stock rom with replaced rooted boot-verified.img through FlashTool
Boot ROM and enable USB Debugging
Throw MagiskManager apk, Xposed apk, Xposed flashable zip on internal storage
Install MagiskManager in Android
Turn off phone and flash TWRP through FlashTool
Boot to recovery (hold down power button and Gemini assist button as phone boots until TWRP appears, then release)
Flash Xposed through TWRP
Reboot phone and install Xposed Installer apk
Profit
Lineage is nice, but unless Gemini fails to update in a timely manner and we can get newer and complete builds from flashing Lineage, I'm going to stick with this process.
Is it possible to remove the gapps and google libs with that process?

I managed to remove Browser, Chrome (these two browsers need to go together) , Hangouts, Duo, Keep, Youtube adn several others through Titanium Backup on rooted android with TWRP and Magisk, os I think so. I mainly went for applications cluttering the Play store, but I think may more can be removed. some might be crucial though.
Is it possible to root WIFI only device using the same procedure?
That is by replacing rooted boot-verified.img in the firmware and reflashing?

I dont know i just installed over a rooted phone like always. Just not all themes are working for one plus 6, but it at least appear after reboot in overlay manager tab. On dp 3 nothing appears..
There is no speacial instructions for substratum, it installs from a playstore and if you're rooted it will work. Install a theme, configure an overlays, install it, reboot device, after reboot go to overlay manager tab select needed overlays, press Enable it.

OnePlus navbar is different to stock Android. Themes tend not to work on it.
I'm using Substratum on 5.1.9 pretty successfully but the process for applying themes is more convoluted with the latest security patches. Swift Dark has good instructions included (see pic), but I can't get its inbuilt accent colours to apply

if this is the thing that nav bar is different ill try to create a theme for myself
Nope, it says that since the march security patch you have to select overlays, build and enable, reboot, enable overlays again, then reboot again to apply properly

Substratum work on rooted p devices i check in multiple themes but in Android p i can't able to use it without root if i root my device banking apps wouldn't work for me.In Android oreo i used it without root thanks to rootless theming.
I am using Substratum with Swift Black Substratum Theme on Android Pie DP3. Also do not try using systemUI related overlay as it will cause SystemUI Crash. You need to be rooted and TWRP recovery installed.
1. Always Backup.
2. Compile the app overlays in Substratum.
3. Boot into TWRP
4. Mount System Partition.
5. Goto Advanced and File manager.
6. Copy/Move the compiled overlays from /sdcard/.substratum to /system/system/app
7. Reboot the phone. Enable the overlays in Substratum.
P.S: If you accidentally stuck on SystemUI crash, just boot into TWRP file manager and delete the overlay from /system/system/app.
I have read it in Substratum thread. And it works perfectly
Happy Theming

New to OnePlus 6

Hi, im new to A/B partitions and PIE. I was Using OnePlus 3T before this. I have few questions.
1. Can i restore Titanium backup apps+data from Oreo to PIE?
2. Can i use magisk modules from Oreo?
3. Which modules are you guys using?
I wouldn't restore app data from Oreo to Pie. Personally I'm just running stock rooted, nothing more nothing less
1. Yes, titanium backups can be restored without any problem
2. Depends on the module. Check the module if it's compatible/updated for Pie.
3. Google Framework so i can use Google Dialer/Phone app. I'm also using Viper4Android module
