Rear camera disappeared last night. Started with the camera force closing, and after a reboot only the front camera works, rear doesn't even show in menus. Using Fluent ROM, was on 7.2 and then wiped/flashed 7.5 and still the same issue. At work atm and can't try much, but has anyone had a similar issue and some advice, or am I screwed? Flashlight apps still turn on the LEDs for what its worth.
Hey there, past weeks I broke my nexus 5 screen, was broken only it, fully functionally, then I take that to a store to change it. Now I discover that front camera doesn't work more. Tried with whatsapp videocall, duo, camera app, they all crash. Could it be possible that incompatible screen? Thanks
The screen has nothing to do with the camera as the camera connects directly to the motherboard.
Do you get an error that the app can't connect to the camera or the image from the front camera is blank?
@Manexu - What happen next? Did you got it fixed?
I am also facing same issue. On my mobile front camera is not displayed.

Had to cange camera too.
Device: Note 5 Ai
Global Beta Rom
'Camera keeps stopping'
This message popped up. Then I restarted my phone. I could open my camera. Rear camera is working fine. But front camera doesn't work. When I touch the icon of front camera it switches into main camera with the features of front camera. I mean rear camera with front camera features. A screenshot of front camera has been attached.
To resolve this problem I did
1) Clear Data and Cache of Camera App through Installed App and Reboot the Device.
2) Make a factory reset.
3) Update from V10.0.2.0 to V10.0.4.0
4) Make a hardware test.
None of the above method worked.
What's the problem and what's the solution? I see many redmi note 5 ai users are facing problems with camera and none of them got any solution.
How can I get rid of this problem? Please help.
Thanks.
Hello guys!
I switched the main camera to 4:3 and now it force closes every time I open it. Front camera works fine through the selfie shortcut.
Tried wiping data from camera and camera service but it didn't help... Camera always starts at 4:3 and then immediately crashes.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Pie, OB25.
I got problems with camera from the very beginning (switching to portrait mode). Never solved
I have 3 cameras....no problems.
Try Gcam.
Hello everyone, after years of resolving my issues just by looking here on XDA, it's time that I post an issue with my Poco F2 Pro. Sorry if my english is not correct (i'm from Italy btw).
So, yesterday i got a notification that told me that i could download and install the MIUI latest version (13.0.8.0), and i did it. Later, when I wanted to send a photo i opened the rear camera and "surprise" it wasn't working. Here's what I found out trying some apps:
GCam >> when I open the app, the rear camera comes out but on the screen i see the frontal camera. If I swipe to the rear camera, the app freezes for a bit and then it cloes itself.
Camera's Stock App >> when I open the app, the rear camera comes out but on the screen i see the frontal camera. If I swipe to the rear camera, i visualize the Macro Camera.
Whatsapp >> the app doesn't even give the option to switch to the rear camera (in fact, i think that the app does not detect the rear camera) but i can easily take photos with the frontal camera.
Instagram >> here i have the option to swap to the rear camera but if I do so, the app freezes and it closes itself.
CIT Mode >> when I check for the Rear Camera, i get the error "get the empty or null camera id".
I brought these examples hoping to show that it's not an hardware problem, since before the update I used the phone and the rear camera easy as always, and i think that the update could have compromised or smth the way the phone detects the rear camera. Anybody has the same problem? Or at least anybody knows how to fix that?

Delete all other camera apps, erase all Miui camera data, reboot.
Same, factory reset.

Thx i'll try asap, meanwhile i have a question: erasing all Miui camera data means that I lose the photos that I took with the miui camera?

Nope, it's cache and settings.
Also, check permissions, long press camera icon, info/permissions.

This is indeed the solution if the factory reset does not change anything and before to concluded that there is a hardware problem.
