also, when making major changes like that, its best to do a "factory reset", which should be an option available in Recovery Mode.
"Why would that help?", well, Android is a modular OS, composed of lots of different apps. Most of these apps store their current settings in your device's /data partition. Generally, when booting up, the various parts all try to launch and then check to see if there are stored settings available for use. If there are, the apps try to load those settings and use them. If you have suddenly changed from one ROM to another, many of these apps are going to be different versions, often different enough to cause the old settings to not work right.
When you do a "factory reset", (among other things) the /data partition is erased, so the apps all get a chance to write their own fresh settings, and thus your device will actually be able to boot up
this doesnt belong in development section..

I have note 10.1 with android 4.1.2 and root
because i have root i can not upgrade my firmware via OTA
I tried via Kies and it says upgrade is available (pic included)
so if I upgread via kies would it wipe my apps and settings ?
what about root? would it lost?
Kies usually alarms you that it may wipe your data. However, it usually does not
Apps usually get preserved. You will need to reroot, root will be lost.

is there a root for the new firmware? how to root it?
Use this free app:
http://www.kingoapp.com/
Your device shoud have "USB Debugging" enabled.
Install the app on your PC, enable USB Debugging on your device, connect it to your PC, run the app then root.

I thought like you in the beginning, that my device is not supported. But when I downloaded the app and used it, I found it supported. I rooted and every thing went fine. Check the attachment for a proof.

Thank you so much buddy I have successfully Unbricked my G700 using this
Is the Ascend G700-U00 ROM supported on U10?? or does it brick the phone?? looking at the specs, both engines seem to be alike so i have a feeling that it might be supported... never the less, its a new phone and i dont want to mess it up
hi,
I have a Huawei Ascend G700-U10 phone. I rooted it and put Go Launcher and uninstalled the Huawei Home default one. Now today suddenly all google apps like gmail, hangouts and play store stopped working. Internet connection was perfect as i could open any website on my phone, so i thought of hard resetting the phone. I went to setting -> back and restore -> reset my phone -> erase everything and clicked it. Now the phone rebooted but couldn't able to sign in to gmail account. So i rebooted again and skipped the sign in part, but now as I had removed Huawei Home, i couldn't see anything on my phone except the notification bar. I had already took the backup of my all apps with Titanium Backup before resetting. Now for the third time when I rebooted it, it's stuck on the Huawei logo like bootloop(may be because I entered into recovery after resetting and cleared the cache and wiped the data & cache partition).
Now I want to get my phone back in the way it was(working fine with Go Launcher Pro and other apps and settings) How to do that? Or else if it couldn't be done then atleast guide me how to get the Huawei home screen(and default factory settings and apps which were there when I had bought the phone) back so I can go ahead and again download those apps or could restore them from the backup. Do i need to reflash something or what? Please its my humble request, kindly help me out. I'm waiting eagerly for your reply with resolution... as my phone is good for nothing in this state. Stuck on bootscreen and had already removed default Emotion UI of Huawei. Pls help.. I would be grateful to you.

Sorry dear, this phone does not support 4G, and for the upgrade we all including myself will have to wait till the company wakes up, while for the volume problem you can make it more loud by going in engineer mode of the phone and for that you will have to enter this code (*#*#3646633#*#*) without pranthsis in the dailer of your phone, you will get the engineering mode and from there you can up the volume of the speaker and some other things can also be done from there, but be careful this can also brick your phone if you do something wrong to it.

I did a stupid thing........ i think.???
I've got a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 MT7-L09. I flashed "Ascend Mate7 firmware(MT7-TL10,Android 4.4,Emtion UI 3.0,V100R001C00B119SP03,General Version)" and its missing some kind of customization as when it reboots there is nothing but icons on the homescreen.
It seems to be looking for Jazz_common_share01.zip when it does the flash (three button update).
Does anybody know what this does or where to get it?
so..... thoughts? info?
Cheers.

Already tried that one..... still no go....
The Phone works, but all customization has gone.... like you have to add widgets and move icons.....
Have you tried "WIPE DATA / FACTORY RESETT" and "WIPE CACHE" from stock recovery after update via 3buttons procedure?

Yep, done all those.
according to the documentation :-
File Name
Main package dload\UPDATE.APP
Vendor package Vendor\normal\dload\update.app
Video resource pack Jazz_common_share01.zip
When you download the updates from Huawei, only the main "dload\UPDATE.APP" is there, it's missing the others.
Well, it's no really biggie.......
I've just customized it by myself anyway..... allot of drag and dropping...... gah.....
how to open the recovery using three button method
what is the three button method anywys?

The file you need http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=47723
If I'm not wrong that file (Jazz_common_share01.zip) should be a file with some stock video to show the quality of our phone display (such as helicopter for MTK phones for example). Nothing else I trust.
I decided to make a dedicated thread for this specifically to organize this situation, anything regarding this device is to be posted here, so it will be easier to get all the info you guys need, and all the info I need. Ok? Post away!

Just tried to root it, but it failed, no SuperSU or anything, like i never did it!
Did your phone rebooted to download mode in the process? Or was stuck in cmd line window?
It did everything fine, went into download, did its thing, told me to wait for ##, did, told me to unplug, then replug, did it, and said it finished.
Thats weird are you sure the image is actually called "rootedsystem.img" , did you unpacked it?
i did as it said, put it in my phones root storage, didnt unpack the image.
was i supposed to unpack it? i feel silly now...
Im not sure, but it's supposed to be named exactly " rootedsystem.img " otherwise it wont work, it might be packed i didnt download to check it.
Its backed as rootedsystem.img.gz, so i unpacked it and i now have rootedsystem.img.
Yeah so run the tool now.
Ok, trying again with the file in place, i wonder why they didnt have a check in the program if the file didnt exist in the device storage, that would be a nice thing to include.
Now im rooted, updated SU binary, rebooting, and i have root!
What am i supposed to do to check if my bootloader is unlocked?
I dont know about that, so someone else will tell u hopefully.
Maybe the way fyter posted at the other thread: *I was able to access to the Bootloader Unlock Check Test calling it directly using Secure Settings app.*
Try that app i quess.
