i have searched and can't find a clear answer. i might have seen something but i can't seem to find it or even if it was for the mobile note 5. i had a sprint s7 that i had flashed an unlocked firmware using a modified odin. are we able to do that with the note 5? any threads i seen were maybe 2 or so years old. I'm sorry if there is in fact a thread on this and i just couldn't find it.

I've become an addict and didn't even know it. I simply cannot use stock phones anymore. I see that we now have root for T-Mo , Sprint Edge., etc. I also see that there is no TWRP, ROMs, or dedicated forums yet and the phone has been out for SEVERAL DAYS ALREADY . I've come to enjoy how fast the community responds with forums, recovery, etc., that the wait feels like an eternity....
It's great that the edge bar remains with a custom launcher app...

Don't know what you mean. My OP indicates that I am aware that there is root. That was not the point. The point was that there is no TWRP or deodexed ROM that I am aware of. If know that there is TWRP for Tmo or Sprint Note Edge, or someone has dumped the deodexed ROMs, or even dedicated forums for those phones, please do point the way....
its in the note edge general forums

Please be more specific. *What* is in the Edge General Forum? If you are referring to root--again, I have indicated that I already know that it is available. I also know that TWRP is now up. In fact, my Sprint and T-Mo Note Edges are already rooted. I am awaiting deodexed ROMs. Where can those be found in the Note Edge General Forum?

It's 2016, and I need to know the truth about rooting the I925. I reset it to factory settings and here is what I have:
Model SCH-I925
Android Version = 4.1.2
Kernel Version 3.0.31-1481643
Build # JZ05454K.I925VRAMK1
Hardware Version I925.03
Is is possible to put Cyanogen on this?
I have tried several ways and the only successful way I have rooted it was King Root. But I was never able to get a recovery on there. I used Heimdall, according to the Cyanogen Website, with no success. I really thought CASUAL was the answer, but now I see that it doesn't work with the updated version. I need the pro on here to help me! I really want cyanogen on it! I am a newbie and using Windows on this..
Try the forum for your model .
I too fall into the same category and have not found a definite answer, has the MK1 stumped all who come against it? Or is root and unlocked b/l a trade secret? I have rooted many devices in my past from G1 to EVOs to newer devices and nothing has been more or less unknown around here like this device is....what gives??
What locked bootloader
Sent from my SM-N920C using XDA-Developers mobile app
It's hard to find a good how-to with this one it seems. There are many tutorials but usually for the other variants and not the Verizon one. The ones that seem to be for the right device use apps to install a recovery but the apps don't seem to support this model either.
I guess there is no luck for this tablet at all... I got it for cheap at this point (4 years after its release)! And there doesnt seem to be a way to even downgrade
verizon galaxy note 10.1 sch-i925 ver 4.1.2

So this means there is no fix for Galaxy note 10.1 SCH-I925. Would you happen to know if Casual is available for this model somewhere in this forum. Thanks for your response. mariomr
No sorry no idea .
the only thing that is achieved is to root, unfortunately there is no way to unlock the bootloader to install TWRP
I also found the 4 stock files to recover by odin, but I did not verify it
sorry for my english

Been a while like years since I rooted mine, but it was easy peasy, with Framaroot.

Hello friends from XDA. I used to be an avid android user for many years starting with the release of the G1 and have had many devices and have a lot of experience as a flash whore over the years. Got in the hot tub a couple years ago and fried one of my phones and have been using an iphone ever since. I got my hands on a gs6 and would like to switch over but it needs to be unlocked.
Model: SM-G920A
Badeband G920AUCS5DPI1
Build: MMB29K G920AUCS5DPI1
So i need to know the best/easiest way to root AND unlock this fella. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Rooting can be done by using cf-autoroot, there's an official thread in the original development forum which contains instructions. Now about unlock, whereas previous s series phones could be network unlocked via root methods, the s6 cannot, you will need to use a paid method for this.
Well I cant find that model on the cf-autoroot forum. From what I can tell the ATT version (SM-g920A) has a locked bootloader? Anyone know how to unlock bootloader or if there is another way that works? I posted on the cf-autoroot forum and am still awaiting a response. Thanks for the help in advance!

Ah gosh that's right, I did a little research before in this as there was another user with this query, I'm sorry to say that 6.0.1 on your variant can't be rooted, the only root methods ever available was for the lollipop software version, there's no way to downgrade either as far as I know.
I purchased an unlocked SM-930R6 today but I can't find anything on it. It's currently running 7.0, but I was wondering if anyone has came across any development for it?
I can't even find stock firmware anywhere. Even if I can't find a custom recovery or ROM, I would still love to achieve root.
Any help would be great!
Thanks

Hi mate
You may have better luck asking in the right forum , this is the exynos ( international ) S7 , check over here
galaxy sm-g930r6 firmware
i have found the firmware for the galaxy s7 sm-g930r6. and its not a international version. its american snapdragon but its a local carrier device known as generic cdma.
Hi, just asking, since i cant find any useful information, is there at the moment, or at any time in the near future, going to be a development thread for the LG- Stylo 5?
right now, i cant even seem to find a useful guide to root the device, or install TWRP (not just talking about XDA, but EVERYWHERE)
if you google it, you get a bunch of links to guides that "seem" good, but its like non of the people there know what they are saying, like "click *here* to download twrp" and it send to team-win but they dont even have the img for the stylo 5
like every guide out there(about the stylo 5) is just some idiot did copy-paste from other stuff
what im saying, sorry if it comes out wrong, it seems that XDA is the only place to find useful stuff, and will there be anything for Stylo 5?
As far as I can tell the bootloader on the phone is locked so it can't be rooted unless some exploit is found. I got one cheap to use as a second phone to play around with, and thought about rooting it but it looks like it's a no go for now.
I'm having the same trouble

I'm having the same trouble. Everything i find is garbage and won't work . To make it worse mines a LM-Q720CS . Cricket sucks . i can't get them to give me the unlock code or anything.
So what I'd like to ask is " Is there anything i can do to unlock my stylo 5 ? Or at least some cool stuff ?
I think they need more Stylo 5 development forums too
They should make a forum on LG site mainly.A discussion is cool but I've had smaller phones with more support.

Metro sent it to me as an OTA update a few months back. I was surprised because Metro PCS has always been horrible regarding os updates. Both my Samsung tablets and the Stylo 5 received updates within days of one another. Maybe you should try to manually update if you havent received it yet?

I have cricket, they unlocked the network for me for free, through the app, after 6 months paid service, but I like the 15 gigs of hot spot, so I never changed carriers
