When I'm playing music it sounds fine and I can hear all of the system sounds and etc. but I can't seem to hear myself or the other caller when I'm using the phone app.
Got the Xiaomi Noise Cancellation In-ear Earphones Type-C headphones by the way.
So... Is it the headphones' fault or is it the phone's fault? And if it is the phone's fault, what do I do to fix it?
Do you have a music manager, eg Viper, or the like. Perhaps if you do, the headphone profile is off/not activated, or if you have multiple music managers/equalizers there may be a conflict.

I'm using VLC with an equalizer preset. Could that be the problem?
Is that the only equalizer?
I've had conflicts with sound out when I've had OEM music app w/equalizer, DoubleTwist and or Viper.
I had to make sure to only have one operational.

Why don't you uninstall it? In this way you can isolate the issue further.

That is it. OEM one is greyed out for some reason.
bump
So I did some bumming around. I don't think it's the equalizer that's the problem. I think the phone app is incapable of routing calls through USB-C.
Any way that can be done?
any updates people?

I would also like to know the answer. I have new Pixel USB-C headphones that work for all other audio except call audio
exact same problem here with Creative SXFI Trio
Any workarounds?

Hello all
So this is the problem. since I have tab 7" I use a headet a lot. But the audio in my headset is full of bass. It's like someone speaking to me true inside a deeeeep hole. just a lot of bass. So I was trying all kind of equalizers but non of them work on BT output. So question to all of you is there a app like that.
I am running overcome ROM 4.0.0. I tried voodoo app (works great on headphones and speakers but not on BT headset. Havent really test BT headphones A2DP since my battery is dead and I just can't find my cable.) I tried a lot of EQ apps from market but non of tham have effect on BT. I also tried that DSP manager but it does not work at all. I can change settings as much as I want but nothing actually happens.
I remember that old phones without any smart OS could do that. They had in call equalizer. Funny that such a smart OS like android doesn't have something like that.
So please help. I there is no such app someone should make it.
Thank you all
Sounds like the extra booming bass is a characteristic of your BT headset as the Galaxy tab is not the source. The Tab has one of the best audio chips. Did you try with another BT headset? If you tell us which brand headset you use you may get more feedback...

It could be. Headphone is SE HBH-608 and headset is nokia BH-503 but this Nokia is not tested since I lost my charging cable. Can't find it. After I test it I will know for sure. But it could be that is because of headphone.

hi. thanks for suggestion. I tried that one and all other EQs. Non of them have effect on BT sound output. It does on a2dp BT output but that is only for listening to audio. Voice does not go via a2dp so it can't be modulated.

volume+
try volume+ by meltus. it works bluetooth with my prius. it has bluetooth settings.
It was probably because of headphone. I tried headset and it is better but it also depends on other side and persons mic.
I think it is from the headset, because I had that problem earlier when I was using SE headset (I don't remember its model), but when I use SE MW600 the sound is so clear, btw if you have A2DP bt headset with 3.5 audio jack you can get different quality of sound if you only change the wired headset attached to it.

I've looked at a few threads about a Bluetooth issue, but I'm not having that. I can pair a bluetooth headset and listen to music all day long. I do when I work out in the mornings as well.
The problem is when I get in my vehicle (I've tested it with regular headphones as well) and hook up a 3.5mm cable, it only sends system sounds. I cannot listen to iHeartRadio, music player, or Pandora. I'm sure any similar programs would yield the same result.
Rooted and with a custom ROM (currently Bean's but it also happened when running Synergy). Has anyone found this a little finicky?
Interesting...I assume you're using stereo Bluetooth, which works fine by most accounts.
That sounds like your hardware is just totally defective. Have you tried turning Bluetooth off and using the headphones? It may be as simple as it still sending the media stream to your Bluetooth device, which is normal behavior. As we have found out the hard way, you can't use both at the same time.
This issue mainly affects those of us without car A2DP Bluetooth that allows streaming all audio so we need to use the aux jack for media audio. When we do that we cannot use Bluetooth for calls unless we disconnect the stereo cable.

Yes it was stereo bluetooth. As far as defective hardware goes, I actually think it's a firmware/software issue. This is due to the fact that when I first installed Bean's Rom it worked again for a day. I probably went to the gym in between the days and then noticed the problem. The bluetooth is off when I'm not using my headphones.
I just placed an order on Amazon for a double din Clarion deck with just about every bluetooth profile offered (exaggeration... have you ever wiki'd bluetooth profiles?).
Thanks for chiming in! Always nice to get a reply.
Is there anyway or script to turn off the headset feature of Xperia L. My device is detecting a headset connected even though none is connected to it and hence my mobile speakers are useless and i can't listen to calls unless is use speaker option.
Please help me turn off the headset detecting. Thanks
I strongly believe this to be a hardware issue. Make sure your audio jack is fine.

Question Bluetooth Audio Quality
Does anyone have experience with how the audio sounds when connected via bluetooth? Is it as good as coming from the phone speakers? does the software allow to equalize the output? looking for a phone just for my car that works good with bluetooth, does not cost that much and has equalizing software built in... My personal phone now is a Note 5 but damn SoundAlive+ crashes when using Google Play Music and turning off the equalization sounds horrible...

BT good for me. Viper4android Works great for eq.
Bluetooth is fine. Its HQ SBC. No Apt-X support. Only EQ available is the terrible JBL "enhancement". Luckily it can be turned off.
How to switch between speakers and wired headphones without unplugging the headphones?
AFAIK not possible with Android.
Not true. FM radio can do it. So..
Then it can be done through the app. So maybe there's an app for that...
Look for headset toggle in the play store.
Apparently VLC doesn't have the switch feature.
Couldn't find a system switch app so far.
What about the app I mentionend:
