The screen is crazy, why? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi, i dipped my s7 edge in a bowl of water and when i took it out the screen was going crazy but only the top right. Also a while later the back button light flickers and when i turn off the button lights the screen is fine. But another problem is that the screen when turned on it flickers green and sometimes stays green, but turning it off and on for a while it works again. It seems that water got inside the front camera, but when i check the water damage indicator it is not red. Any help

Don't put your phone in water
Let it dry out before trying to use it

Leave it in a rice bowl to try get inner moisture out

potential long term damage?...

Yesterday my phone got wet, the screen is howing some kind of wet spot under in, but heres the thing?
At the edges it seems the water damage is lightening the screen, yet in the middle theres a dark shadowy patch!
Any advice is great thanks?

This. Do this.
And do not delay.
If the phone works at all now it's because you're lucky and the water didn't get to anything sensitive yet. But the key word is 'yet'. It only takes a drop of water on a circuit board to ruin the device. If you don't have any rice at home right now, turn the phone off and pull the battery out NOW. Then go get rice. Don't leave the phone on to go to the store. The sooner the power is off, the better.
What happens is that the board gets slightly wet and when electricity is introduced there's a short. And tiny little circuit boards aren't designed to deal with electrical shorts. It hurts them. Badly. And quickly. And irreparably.
So taking the battery out is key as there's still electrical power in part of the circuits when the power to the phone is off. (Something's got to be polling the power button to know what to do when it's pressed. Something has to regulate the charging that works when the power is off, etc)What the rice does is creates a very dry environment by absorbing moisture.
In 2 days the rice will have sucked the water right out from under the screen.
And once you put it in the rice, don't touch it. Don't test it. Don't fuss with it. Just leave it there for 2 days and use another phone.

DO NOT RUN YOUR PHONE IF IT GETS WET. PULL THE BATTERY RIGHT NOW.
Even if your phone gets wet it is usually only damaged by running it after it is wet. If you let your phone dry for a few days it should be fine.
Thanks for the advice, that much i was already aware of - it was the dark area that appeared on the screen.
I have had the phone back on and run it with the screen max brightness and the dark patch has almost gone theres 2 small dots that are slightly lighter.
I will see what its like tomorrow.

It should go away completely. I got mine where it was dark all the way around, and a fairly large spot in the middle. I just left my phone off four 24 hours, then used it, the spots were still there, but they went completely away.

Dropped my phone in water :/

Hi guys!
Two days ago,I dropped my phone in my sink, which was full of water :/ I immediately took it out, took the battery out, dried it with microfiber cloth and then put it in the bowl of rice. It stayed there till yesterday morning (approximately 9hrs). When i took it out,I powered it on,and it worked totally normal, except there were water marks on my screen. I thought that water has penetrated between digitizer and LCD,but now I beleive that it was actually in LCD,because objects, letters on screen were seen as they were above those marks. I tried to open it yesterday,to see if anything has coroded on mainboard, and when I dissasembled it,no marks were noticed. I also thought about dissasembling the digitizer and LCD,but I didn't do that as I was afraid that I might do even more harm.. Also, yesterday I left it again in a bowl of rice, but I added silica gel this time also, and it spent 10hrs in the bowl this time. I took it out, powered on,and it worked, although with same water marks on the screen..
20 minutes ago,i noticed that it stopped working, stopped charging. I tried powering it on,and it did power on,but, not completely. It went through boot screen succesfully, played htc sound, and opened desktop.Suddenly, the screen went black, but it was clearly still on,as light was present.
Now I don't know what else to do...Any suggestions? Is it repairable or I can just say goodbye to it ?:/
Thanks in advance!

You can try to repair the digitizer, but other parts could be damaged as well...
You should take a look at this thread before you change your LCD, that is, if you want to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19649563

! think You can use low level heater to disassembled screen and digitizer
warm it

[Q] Hot phone bright screen, cold phone dim screen. ????

I dropped my phone in a puddle of water during a light drinking binge a week ago. I did all the known techniques for drying out. Rice, etc.
Waited a whole week before turning phone back on, everything seems to work great except screen is very dim. I thought maybe it still needed a little more drying so I took a blow dryer to it. Phone was nice and warm. Afterwards turned phone back on and screen was bright and full of color. I thought wow its fine. About 10 minutes later screen went dim again. Imagine my disappointment. I thought what the hell I'll try the blow dryer again and bingo screen bright and full of color, but as soon as phone cools the screen is dim again. The heat from the blow dryer brings my screen back to life everytime but as soon as it cools it becomes a paperweight. :crying:
Just wanted to know if anyone had any explanations as to why this is?

I took the phone completely apart down to the last screw. Laid all the pieces out on a towel and used the blow dryer for about ten minutes. Put everything back together and BINGO! Has worked like a charm ever since. Thanks again.
You are most welcome!! It would be great if you could subsribe to my youtube channel!!

Display not working/flickering but vibrations and noise fine

Alright guys So for some reason my display isn't working, when it does it does briefly and flickers. The rear camera is hazed too. But the water damage tape is still pure white and the noise/music still comes out fine. I don't know what's going on. Leaving it in rice as we speak. Any ideas?

does anyone know that why my phones display has this blue tint

so to tell in brief what i did today i took it in the rain running
i cleaned it with sanitiser
here is a picture can anyone tell me if this can break my display in long term is it repairable ffor cheap
and kill my phone its in the right hand corner
What phone and type of display?
Looks like you got water inside.
Power it down immediately.
Pull rear cover and pull the battery, ASAP!!!
Place in a warm, dry room with a fan on it for a few days.
Connect battery, boot and inspect display.
Reassemble if ok, use new OEM seal for rear cover.
No time to dilly-dally Mr. Wick... tic-tok
The screen brightness and color are adjusted automatically to react to ambient light conditions. Usually the change is so gradual it's barely noticeable, but can be fast if the light hitting the screen changes rapidly and substantially. You can choose to disable this behavior, but you should give it a chance first
