Google Voice Background

I got my G2x about 2 weeks ago and I'm having a problem with Google Voice. The app isn't refreshing in the background. What I mean is that for it update, I have to actually open up the app and then it will refresh. Background is enabled, I double checked. I'm currently using the leaked Gingerbread ROM from Modaco but I don't think that's the issue since I'm was having the exactly same problem with the stock 2.2 which came with the phone. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?
I'm also having problems downloading Apps. Sometimes when I try to download an App, it would go from "Starting Download...." to "Downloading...." then just suddenly quit with no error messages at all.
Hate bumping my own thread, but does anyone know what's going on? Getting really annoying to constant have to manually check for texts.
Do you have Synchronize Inbox and Inbox Notifications enabled under the Google Voice App settings?
Yup along with Vibrate
Did you somehow accidentally enable the Do Not Disturb feature in the app or maybe online in your settings?
"Do Not Disturb" is unchecked on both the phone app and the voice website.

Intermittent notifications (mainly with Facebook)

I previously had a Galaxy S3. With the Facebook app, I would receive notifications just fine.
With my Nexus 5, some notifications come through, but some don't. For example, last night a friend posted something on my timeline and I got a notification about that instantly. Later on, I posted something on my timeline via my PC and then left the site. A few hours later I went back to Facebook and 3 people had commented on my post, but I hadn't received any notifications on my phone about it. I've checked the settings and I have all notifications turned on for Facebook.
Anyone else having issues like this? Notifications do work on the phone, but I've never had an issue like this before, where sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't.

why do i some times not get notifications

I have a S6 and have been loving it, but lately (hangs out or other messaging programs are more noticeable) i some times do not get notification or sounds of a notification when my screen if off, some times i don't even get them if the app is running in the back ground but my phone is on.
I have no idea what the issue is and before the question is asked, yes i have wifi/data to remain on when i have my screen off
turning phone off/reset, turning off and on syncing, clearing app data all of these seem to not to help at all
edit more information: only way i have been able to fix it is have trillian and hangout on at the same time ( both google messaging apps) and get someone to send me a message. I will get one of the two notifications. this is a temp fix however it doesn't fix the problem perma.

Facebook Messenger vibrates every time i get message

This annoying problem just started. Every time i get a message the phone vibrates. I have turned off vibration for Messenger in phone settings but still it vibrates. And its driving me crazy!!
How can i fix this? I have tried reinstalling it too.
Hey, my wife had the same issue (mind you on an S7) and while trying to find an answer, I found your thread. She found the solution herself. She says:
In the app notification settings for chats and calls I changed the "importance" from urgent to medium
Hope this helps you!
I don't have this problem but I would assume if you go into apps and then application permission you could probably disable anything that is related to the gyro or vibration for FB messenger.
That or install a vibration manager app and just disable FB from it.

Facebook Messenger Notifications are always vibrating (can't be turned off) Android10

Hi
So after upgrading my Oneplus 7 Pro to Android 10, the Facebook Messenger App is still vibrating after reciving messages....
I can't turn this off neither by disabling vibrations in app nor in system settings
Does anyone has similiar problem? Is there any fix for that?
Thanks
