Android apps "talking" to each other - General Questions and Answers

I've had Instagram installed on my Android phone (Nexus 6P) for quite some time now. I decided to download Facebook's standalone Messenger and when I went to log in, it knew that I had my Instagram account and suggested that I log in with my Instagram account. How can prevent apps from being able to read each other like this?

[Q] Facebook Contact Sync

Now that I'm running a 2.2 blur-less ROM (RubiX), I'm using the actual Facebook App again instead of the Blur social networking. However, when I open the Facebook app, I don't get the option to sync contacts anymore. My Droid 1 running the same exact facebook app does, so I'm guessing it's some sort of build.prop check that it does on whether to hide the sync or not.
Is there any build.prop solution to get this to re-appear?
Here's what I did.
First I removed any Facebook account from contacts.
Then, uninstalled the native Android Facebook app.
Next, created the account again for facebook contact sync (the one that comes with the DX).
Waited 30 minutes for all pix/contacts to sync.
Re-installed native facebook app.
My guess is that you'll still have a few issues but give that a try and see what happens.

Google Calendar opens every time I open Facebook?

I can't figure this out. When I open the Facebook app, and then close it, Google Calendar is open behind it and I have to close it to see my homescreen again.
I do have HaxSync installed for syncing contact photos, but it shouldn't be running with Facebook at all, as it sync separately.
Has anyone else seen this on their N5? It doesn't seem to happen on any of my other android devices (N7 2013, etc)....

[Q] New phone, first time on Android - no Apps show up in my Apps?

I just set my Mother-in-law up with a new Nexus 5 updated to Lollipop. She had an existing gmail account that we used to sign in at the phone setup. However, when opening the Play Store, I notice that none of the preinstalled apps (Gmail, Calendar, etc) show up in My Apps. However, searching for these apps in the Play Store show they're installed and give the option to Update them. Do I really need to do this one by one for each app for an account that has never used Android? After updating an app, then it shows up in my apps, but it seems like a giant waste of time to have to sync them with my account.
That really doesn't seem right.. I'd try a simple factory reset first and see if it works then.
Actually confirmed this with another account too (never had signed into Android before). Guess maybe the easier thing to do might be do it through the web link to Play store.

FB Messenger App notifs not showing up / coming through when phone is locked and off, then all coming through when app is opened.

Apologies in advance if this isn't in the proper section, or there's a better website to ask this on. If so, please let me know.

I don't know if an update occurred, but a number of days ago now (maybe since the FB outage), my FB Messenger messages on the Messenger app (not the Facebook app, or Facebook for Desktop) are not coming through when my phone is locked and the screen is off for awhile (even like 15 minutes or something). When I unlock my phone I don't even get them. It's only when I open the FB messenger app that all the notifications come through and pop up at once . It seems to only be FB messenger that's affected. I get Google Calendar Reminders and Text Notifications. They are coming through immediately and just fine on Messenger.com and Facebook.com .
Completely cleared the cache/data for Messenger and uninstalled/reinstalled the program. Makes no difference. I haven't changed any battery settings or restricted anything. Do not disturb is not on.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Android 12 and Facebook logins

So on my Huawei Phone running a version of Android 10? and on my previous phone running Android 7, in facebook when I log in, it asks me if I want to remember the account. I have several different facebook accounts that I use for a game, and once I have logged into the account once on the device, it allows me to simply select the account from a list the next time around and then automatically logs me in.
On my new Samsung S8 tablet running Android 11, I can't get this to work. The accounts are remembered, but I have to enter the password each time.
Is there a way to fix this, or have they changed something in Android II that fundamentally stops this from working?
Annoyingly, Facebook Lite has its own "switch account" option which is brilliant, but the game I'm playing only checks the full Facebook app and the browser to determine which account to connect to.
