Is there any way to set things up to function like this?
Now I have to long press, select open in background tab.*
It would be much quicker and easier just to long press a link like middle clicking on a mouse.
Any advice?

Im slowly going mad with Raphael, HTC didnt make this easy for me.
I only want simple things. Like, one hw-button on top panel of device, that really closes program. I mean REALLY, and EVERY TIME. Not casually, or just leave it hanging there on the background.
But no, this is a luxury I cant have. I always have to try to hit my big thumb into little X at right upper corner.
Lets have an example. Fire up File Explorer. Ok Im done with it and want to close program (by pressing nice and big hw-key, not aiming for small X). Options:
1. I press Home-button. I'm back at home screen and File Explorer running on background.
2. I press Back-button. I'm back at home screen and File Explorer running on background.
3. I press Endcall-button. I'm back at home screen and File Explorer running on background.
...Seriously, WTF??? Why do we have THREE hw-buttons in top panel of Raphael, that do exactly the same thing? And as far as I have observerd, there is no really good solutions yet for remapping these hw-keys.
All I want is:
1. Button that takes me back to Home-screen (obviously Home-button)
2. Button that changes from program to another (alt+tab, I could use Back-button for this)
3. Button that really closes program (obvious choise would be Endcall-button).

The Back button is really the OK button from previous devices like the Hermes. I agree the Home button is probably useless, but I suppose it's a fast way to get to the Home screen when you're in a call, since pressing Hangup while you're in a call will... hangup the current call.
With all the RAM in the device, is there any reason to really close any apps?
AEBPlus can handle all of them,but the Back button not. Unfortunately the Home button can be handled,but after hitting it,it jumps to Todayscreen and makes the command defined in AEBPlus,so it is unusable. I want to use those 2 buttons for something different as well as some of the keys on keyboard(SMS to OK/Close). As I don't understant 3 buttons for same functions,I don't understand,why we have 2 hw-keys for entering the messaging on the keyboard.

In settings, there is no buttons available though there is 5 hardware buttons !!!
For exemple, i'd like to attribute task manager or task facade to the long press home button, is it possible ?

I used aebutton plus to assign MS Voice Command to long press windows button. That worked fine, although I haven't used it on any other buttons.
Well, the hardware buttons already have set functions. So assigning things to them would be a little bit complex within the settings. That's why they aren't there.
I imagine you would need to use a third party application, and even then you could only assign long presses to the keys.
Long press would be nice though

Yes, it does what I want it to do, although as I said I only added long press windows key.
It was a little bit fiddly with aebp's small menus on the capacitive screen, but I got there after several attempts.
Now when I start the aebp program, I get an error message reading "Once you set AEBPlus to process Windows button you may also need to re-define following buttons also:"Button 1(Hold)", "OK Key"."
I haven't done as it says, and everything works perfectly.

I just installed it and mapped the windows hard button with long press to task facade. It worked just fine, but it seems the button lost the original function which is to access the start menu on single tap. I dont mind it so much though, I might as well use the the soft start button in the upper left corner. The important thing is that multi tasking now works without having to go through the today screen.
When you hold down a link in the Android Browser, eventually a menu appears (like a right click menu).
I would like to _increase_ the length of time to get to this menu. Since my touchscreen isn't very accurate, I like to hold links down until there's a nice orange box around them, so I'm sure the right one has been selected. Zooming in and clicking the wrong link is frustrating and time consuming.

While I'm here, I might as well ask about holding the homescreen to bring up recent apps, it'd be nice if that was _faster_ (opposite of what i'm asking for above)
When scrolling down a page, all the tabs disappear off the top of the screen. Is there any way to keep the tabs visible?
To see tabs, I either have to scroll all the way up (which for long articles is a pain), or press Menu at the very bottom of the screen, which for 10.1" tablets is also a pain depending on how I'm holding my tablet. Creating a gesture for View Tabs as Windows works too, but at that point, drawing a gesture is just as much of a pain as moving to Menu.
Is there a way to keep the tabs visible?
you could always hit the menu button on your phone. It will show the tabs when you press that button.

Did you even read my post?
Yes i just realized you included it. Sorry, not very good at multitasking today. I do not believe there is a way to keep them visible, I always just hit the menu button.
