That's not the described "urgent" update some sites talked about though, you simply got your device shipped with an older version, mine got shipped on tuesday and had PB4 already.

Interesting, didn't it have to do with edge app support (at least that's what i read in most articles)?
Anyways here is my software info and i got no update since i have the device, maybe the urgent update isn't that much of a deal in reality, but just for some devices which not already got shipped with the latest already...
Edit: Ah, I've now read about the sensivity also, still the question stays the same though.

Hmm interesting. I've been pushing the update button every day since I got the phone and today it got updated.
i have the G935FXXU1APAW version and also no system update yet, there was an "egde panel" update though within the galaxy apps samsung store (under "my apps").

I'm running MMB29M T-Mobile SD820 version since I opened the phone 12 days ago. It seems like the international version is still on an older build. The only update I've receievd is one for the edge panels

Look at build number.
Exynos just got PB4 if you didn't have it already.
Snapdragon based on earlier screens shows it being at PB6.
I just got PB4 myself on Exynos.

This is probably a really dumb question, but i need to know... How do you make sure you order a phone that's got Exynos & not snapdragon?

Hey there!
Surprisingly, I couldn't find any information on this. I know only devices launching with Android 8 are required to support Treble, but there was the rumor that some manufacturers were working on bringing Treble on Android 7 devices with the update to Android 8.
So what about the U11? Does anybody have a definite answer?
Thanks!
As far as I have seen, Treble on Nougat devices = full wipe of the entire phone to create a new partition, so not going to happen. Oreo on the U11 definitely does not have it enabled.

Judging by the OTA package of U11, it does not have treble.

It's an architecture of ROM separating Android from device manufacturer's drivers and add-ons so it's easier to bring Android updates to phones that have less-than-stellar support from the manufacturer (like we do).

So you can get security patches (and other upstream Android developments) easier → more often and have your phone secure and up-to-date.

Yeah in theory, but it isn't exactly getting 8.1 and patches to the U11 Play and U11+ faster is it? We still are still at HTCs mercy.

Well yes, but it would be less bother for them, so possibly more updates? It's all my theory though, possibly even if implemented OEMs will just be like "Less costs to keep current update schedule. Cool!"

It's already supported, in the parallel world. So unluckily, we're on the wrong one.

Normally NO because it's "hard" for them to develop full one ui on mediatek devices/ bc they want u to buy flagships / full one ui requires knox (i think) and knox requires a piece of hardware that would bump up the price etc..

i did one time but headphones weren't working and i needed them to work and some of the phone's features weren't here like the quad camera etc and also there is a big bug with gsi the screen stops working when u turn off the screen and the kernel that fix it is slowing the boot process so that's why i hope someone make a one ui 5 port (if full one ui is possible i would be surprised)

I had some of those issues but if it is Bluetooth headphones there is a fix for that in pixel experience and evolution x, the quad cam I think there is a setting for that in "phh treble settings" and the screen turn off bug I changed back light max value to 1 instead of -1. And yeah I wish one ui 5 would work on my a41 since its a super capable phone.
