Suggest me a good TYPE C Cable for my phone which gives a good speed charging. i have aukey 2.0 quick charger but i cant use that using the official cable which came with the phone. In box i got two cable one is very small one which can be connected to Aukey adapter but as it is very small i'm not secured. I need a good cable for this with Type c such as http://www.amazon.in/OnePlus-02020017-Type-C-Cable-100cm/dp/B012D3T82W/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1458440674&sr=1-4&keywords=type+c+cable

Has someone gathered some experience with Mi5 compatible chargers supporting Quick Charge 3.0?
The original chinese charger that came with the 128GB Mi5 version actually has a QC 3 symbol on the back - while I read it supports just 2.0.
My 'dream' charger should have easy switchable power plugs so it can be easily adjusted to the country's power sockets you're staying in. I remember my old HTC phone once came with 3 different, interchangeable plugs out of the box!
I bought this and works perfectly http://goo.gl/vasfAw
You can also use the Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 products.
I got one for my Mi 5 and its full compatible, shows also quick charge when plugged in.
Is there any significance difference b/w stock xiaomi charger?

Well, lets say the stock charger isn't the best build quality if you ask me, or at least it does'nt look very "trustworthy".
I wouldn't use it without fear about fire... so i never used it

which specific aukey charger are you using? what usb cable are you using? and how do you determine whether it is actually quick-charging or not?
thanks in advance - cheers!

I'm using the AuKey Quick Charge 3.0 with 2 Ports and a "good" USB A 3.0 highspeed cable with 56k resistor.
If the display is off and you wake it up while its on charger, on the bottom you can see a notice if its quick or slow charging.

thanks for your quick reply!
I guess am using the same charger you mentioned (w/ 2 orange usb type a ports) in combination with the stock usb type a to c cable which was shipped with my MI5. The cable the charger came with was of little use as it is was not a type c cable :/
this notification you are talking of however.. how does it look like? atm I have no clue what I should be looking for to be honest
(I also tried an Anker QC 3.0 charger - performance-wise it was a lot worse than the Aukey charger and therefore went right back to Amazon)
I went for the Tronsmart qc3 for both car and regular. Good quality, just make sure you buy a decent cable along.

I think the stock charger isn't a QC 3.0 charger. (And neither is the cable IMO.)
But I am not sure, and not bothered to test. :cyclops:
To those who replied here with tronsmart or aukey QC3 chargers, does it come with a USB type C cable? I cannot find any info about this in google alone. TIA, cheers.
My aukey QC3 charger from amazon Germany came without any cable. I am therefore currently using the stock USB type C cable. I am however not sure whether that cable is 100% compliant and to be honest quite annoyed by all that controversy around the type C standard and QC3 and the incompatibility between both -.-

Hey Guys
Can anyone suggest a good, reputable, certified Qualcomm QC3 charger that has an included USB type-C cable?
I was eyeing on Tronsmart's QC3 1port wall charger, but I found out that it only has the micro-usb cable, and not the Type-C for Mi5.

An Aukey is on the way to me with the cable included.
I earlier suggested the BlitzWolf, but BlitzWolf is not really certified for QC3.

Hello
Im about to order QC 3.0 charger by AUKEY (I understood that it's really recommended)
and I'd likfe to buy a type - c cable that fits the 3.0 qc and will not harm the phone.
What cable do you recommend?
Thanks!
I bought two of these in the braided cord variation. I'm extremely pleased with the quality.
I'm unable to post a link, but iOrange-E makes a fantastic USB Type-C cable that I've been using since the G5 launch in April. It's found in Amazon for eleven bucks I think.

As far as I know iOrange-E cables, altough great, are not compatible with LG G5 Quick Charge 3.0. I believe the only cables compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 are those that support 3 amps. The iOrange-E cables supports up to 2.4 amp only.

Not sure if this is true. I was using a 6 ft braided iOrange-E cable since I got the phone up until my dog decided to chew on it, but during that time, QC 3.0 worked flawlessly.

Were you using this cable with the wall charger that came with the G5?
I was using the iOrange-E cable with the wall charger that came with the G5 and it worked perfectly up until a few weeks ago. Less than a two month life span and now the phone constantly complains about slow-charging when using the iOrange-E cable. I switched to the cable-matters cable posted above and have had no issues. I actually already had the cable matters cables for car/travel use and they work perfectly. I do wish they made a 10ft cable, but oh well.
iOrange-E 2.4A cable works because the G5 included wall charger is not Quick Charger 3.0 certified but only Quick Charger 2.0 certified and as such it don't requires 3A cables.
Both specifications - QC2 and QC3 - are reported by G5 as Fast Charging, but make no mistake: the charging rates are not the same. QC 2 charges 0-50% in about 25-30 minutes while QC 3 charges 80% in 35 minutes.
To exploit the above Quick Charger 3.0 rates, you need not only a Quick Charger 3.0 certified charger but also a compatible 3A cable.
Has anyone used this yet? Thoughts? It appears to be a new model.

I agree. Unless you absolutely need one right now, I'd wait until they review more stuff or just pony up $40 for the Belkin... WAY too much variation in how these manufacturers are producing USB-C chargers.

My last car charger was a very similar, low profile Aukey one with QC 2.0 and I never had any issues with it either.
This is the one I use. Fast charges both my Nexus 6p and Pixel XL. I think it was mentioned by Benson to be good also.

The Pixel does not support Quick Charge. Don't know what you will get from USB-A to USB-C.
Good setup is 5V/3A = 15W from a good USB-C charger and cable.
Best setup is 9V/2A = 18W from a good USB-C PD charger and cable

All I'm saying is these chargers are 24w / 3A , and when I plug in my pixel it tells me rapidly charging. I can get a full charge in the same amount of time as my charger I received with my pixel phone, or the Belkin USB type c charger I have , just trying to save you guys some money. As for reliability I had a 6p when they first came out and the battery and phone are still good in that an I have always used that charger. Hope this helps!

Although the Snapdragon 821 is capable of Quick Charge 3.0 for the Pixel, it looks like Google has elected to use the USB-C Power Delivery standard. I just looked up a bunch of very confusing technical stuff, but the big advantage of PD is use of the data connection within USB-C while charging. ( like from a computer ). I don't think there is very much difference in the rate of charging with PD vs Quick Charge. Rest assured, the Pixels will charge VERY quickly.
I'm on my way to work but this should sum it up, all sd821 are quick charge 3.0 capable, like I said this charger is 24w/3a an you won't be using the USB PD features while charging in your car anyway.

That's a standard 5v 2.4A charger according to it's specs, at max you'll get 12w decent charge albeit not "max" but who cares, since the Pixel doesn't support qc. Using it with the stock pixel a to c cable should be safe, I wouldn't use an untested cable tho and risk frying the Pixel.
The blitzwolf usb-c +a car charger, non qc, is only $5 delivered on Banggoods on sale, comes usb-c cabled and has usb a slot. I use it and get a good safe charge from it.
The visnic has been tested to work well, only $10 but you need a cable too.
I upgraded to LG V30 from Nexus 6P. Skipped the Pixel and Pixel 2 series...
I have a large supply of USB Type C to Type C cables that rapidly charged my Nexus 6P....they will not fast charge the V30 though.
My Type A to C cables will not fast charge it either with anything but the stock LG charger.
I tried the "AUKEY Amp USB Charger with 60W Dual USB C & 4 USB Ports for LG G5, HTC 10, Nexus 5X / 6P and More" from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EXWXVWO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That is supposed to support Quick Charge from both the Type A ports and Type C ports but LG V30 would not say fast charging with any of the ports or cables I used.
Is anyone having any luck with 3rd party Quick Chargers? I wireless charge at night with a dock and in my car but I like to have quick chargers spread around the house for when I need to charge up fast before running out of the house.
I'd prefer Type C ports so I can use all of my Type C to Type C cables...but I'll take anything that works. Looking for multi-port options like the Aukey above so my family can charge their devices too at the same time.
Any suggestions?

Thanks....really looking for one that has USB Type C ports...I have like a dozen of those cables now (type C on both ends)...all a different color than the USB Type A to Micro USB cables that all the other phones in my house use...makes it easy to grab the right cable among the bunch of them...
Are you getting super slow charge, like 4 hrs reported or just not quite as fast?
I have the Nexus 5x and that charger charhes my V30 close to the OEM QC3 charger, just slightly slower.
I did have some issues with a desktop USB-C PCI card triggering a file transfer mode, which gave it that 4 hr slow charge estimate. I had to reset it in developer options and reboot (even though it already was set to "charge only"). Something buggy going on.

I think it may be charging close to stock charger with my Nexus 6P compatible chargers and Type C cables....but my battery lasts so long and I wireless charge at night...so have not done real test where the battery was close to zero yet.
Was hoping for the phone to confirm it is in fast charge mode...but if it still charges fast that is good enough...we'll see...
I have the same issue. chargers and cables that work with my Nexus 6P do not necessarily charge the V30. seems the USB A to USB C cables don't work as they do for the 6P.

I had something similar with the htc 10. Charger and cable both from aukey together would not work but same components paired with any other worked.
The fastest possible type C charging is Power Delivery (PD)
19V vs 9V (QC 2.0)
should we all email LG to let the know the V30 is very picky with QC3.0 chargers? maybe they can resolve this in a future update?
My V30, V20, and G5 all exhibit the same behavior when using USB-PD: 5V 2A or 9V 1.67A peak. So if you want the fastest possible charging you need a charger that supports 9V. The 5V 3A chargers wont cut it.

I've discovered something interesting about the V30 and PD. The V30 accepts 12V via PD but not via QC3.0. Up until now all of my PD chargers have been 5, 9, and 15V but I recently got a power bank that outputs 5, 9, and 12v. I've never seen a phone accept 12v before.

I have a 12v c-c power delivery charger and it still won't fast charge my phone. When I plugged it into the a to c yesterday it said fast charging 1h 10m remaining to full and when I use the c to c it says charging 1h 20m remaining. It's not much slow but it is and it makes no sense because usb c is the fastest possible way to charge something over USB.
Why would they make this phone use USB c if they aren't even taking advantage of it? My 6p had a bigger battery that charged faster than this phone because they actually utilize the USB c.
