I believe that my touch screen is not working, because when I turn my Motorola Milestone 3 on it goes to the lock screen (With the circle and a key icon that pulsates) and I cannot get it to move to the left or the right. Basically my phone has become a clock. It also no longer shows me if anyone is calling, but rings on their end. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also if I open the keypad, more often than not it freezes (I know that it has frozen because the icon in the middle is no longer pulsating, and the clock gets stuck.)
Hi, i have a rooted Samsung galaxy prevail 2, and just recently my phone has appeared to stop working. when i reboot it, the message 'shell has been given superuser permissions' is displayed and the screen is frozen. in this state none of the hardware buttons work except the power button except it only works to reboot, not turn the screen off. the low memory icon is also displayed in the top left. i should mention that this has happened before a while ago but my phone returned to normal after three days and i did nothing to fix it. this time its on day seven of freezing on every reboot. i have tried to factory reset using the hardware buttons but once it gets to the second logo and displays the message at the top left, it doesnt continue to the recovery menu and instead shuts back off. i have also tried to connect it to my computer to look through the files but it will not accept the driver the computers trying to install. i even downloaded the correct driver from the samsung website. any help? thanks.
Hello everyone, Hope all is well with you all. I bought the Boost Mobile Lg Tribute 2 [LG LS665] [android v5.1.1] about 3 days ago now and as with any new android based device I get, gaining root and installing a custom recovery becomes my first priority. Well gaining root was no problem at all for me using the KingRoot app but the problem occurred when uninstalling some system apps\ bloatware. I uninstall the same system apps every time I get a device with no problems whatsoever. On my new Lg Tribute 2 I didn't uninstall anything I haven't before except this time when I restarted my phone I was(and am everytime I restart now) greeted with the usual phone initial setup accept it starts at the accessibility screen. Now keep in mind that my phone is already setup and has apps installed. When I continue the setup it goes through as normal and all my apps and wallpaper are still there accept my status bar won't pull down and my home and menu buttons don't work anymore. When I restart as stated previously I'm confronted with the initial accessibility setup - choose language - choose wifi etc ..... What i have found today is that instead of going through the initial setup at each restart I can instead access the settings through the lock screen and when i choose Settings \Home screen\Select Home\ and pick 'Home' it simply bypasses the setup and loads the home screen which is great accept when I go that route my Home and Menu soft keys are still disabled (not highlighted and unresponsive) plus my status bar still wont pull down unless the phone is locked. What did I uninstall to do this. I can't remember what apps i uninstalled off the top of my head and can't find a list of preinstalled system apps on line to compare with. I know this is long so I apologize but I am stumped. Google search comes up empty as the Tribute 2 is fairly new as is 5.1.1 so any help would be appreciated very much. Also I for the life of me cannot find anything for the lg tribute 2 that could help me such as a working custom recovery, a stock image or any custom roms. Thank you for taking the time to read this very very very much.
Summary of problems:
1. Confronted with initial phone setup at each restart even though phone is setup.
2. My status bar won't pull down unless phone is on lock screen. (luckily because this gives me access to the phone settings and homescreen).
3. My soft home and menu buttons don't work at all ( only back button still works).
4. Cannot find stock image on line to reflash.

It sounds like you just need to complete the setup screen, is it connected to a Google account? I had a similar problem when I needed my Google password to complete setup. It's called Google FRP factory reset protection
Hello all.
My mother is using an LG G Pro 2 D838 16GB White running on bone stock 5.0.1 for some months now. The phone is quite large and to make it a bit more useful to her I introduced her to Mini View, where you shrink the UI to a more manageable size. You swipe from left-to-right from the navigation bars to activate (or v.v.) -- MORE INFORMATION AT THIS ARTICLE HERE. http://www.androidcentral.com/lg-mini-view
It used to work well, but one day it stopped working. I swipe from the navigation bar and it CRASHES THE WHOLE PHONE. I cannot interact with the buttons nor access the notification bar up top. I cannot even toggle the power menu when I hold down the power key, I have to remove the battery and reattach it to force reboot.
Is the phone at this point
1/ soft-bricked that if I went to recovery mode I may never leave it and go on perpetual bootloop,
2/ with the wrong settings that have been ticked by accident, or
3/ fixable by wiping cache partition or factory resetting it?
Thank you for an earnest response.
A while back, My old Stylo 2 stopped working due to a very strange (I assume hardware-related) bug that made the phone constantly press the same spots over and over and over, and the screen was entirely unresponsive otherwise. Only those few spots ( 1. About 25% up the bottom right side, 2. The very top right corner, and most prominently 3. Just right of the multitasking button, within its 'hitbox'.) have any effects on the screen at all, and I cannot find places on the screen that are 'touchable' due to the multitasking button being hit over and over and it constantly switching me between apps.
More than anything, I just want to change my USB mode to file transfer to get my pictures off the phone, but even as easy as that is in Android 7 (pull down the top menu, select USB settings, change to file transfer right?) I can't even get the top menu down most of the time, let alone get to the USB settings. On the rare occasion that I do get all the way there, either the multitasking button starts acting up again or the screen stops responding to everything altogether, making the one thing I need to select un-selectable. Much to my dismay, it also seems that I have USB Debugging turned off (I honestly have no idea why or how this was turned off, as I use ADB frequently), so I can't even use ADB to get a screen control app to run. Are there any ways to either force USB Debugging to be on via console (Win8) or otherwise, or control the screen and disable touch without the need for a third-party app?
Yes

Yes, but I'd appreciate a thanks for the solution! I give and give ...
First, what model number is your Stylo? For instance I have the Cricket variety (H634). Once you figure that out check out my link below with particular attention paid to the "how to enable usb debugging via dialup" step. I just tried it with my Stylo (H634), works great. The link pertains to the LG G6 but it will work on your LG Stylo as well.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g6/how-to/frp-unlock-lg-g6-using-headphone-jack-t3616166
Or just try this ...
Dial *#546368#*_ _ _# (Field Test Mode). Enter your devices model number in the three blanks. Mine for instance would be *#546368#*634# (H634 being the Cricket model number). Go to SVC>LDB> Enable usb debugging
Happy USB'n!
