4K video recording – dropping frames - HTC U11 Questions & Answers

I'm very satisfied with the image and video quality U11 delivers. However, my problem is that whenever I set video quality to 4K and start recording, I notice an occasional frame drop. I think it happens once in 8–10 seconds. Unfortunately, frame drops are also present in the saved videos.
I've already tried wiping the cache partition, performed a clean factory reset, but they haven't solved my problem. Any ideas? Do you think it is a hardware issue?

Try running an app called boost+ and activate smartboost.. If no joy then there could be a bigger problem..

This video is to to show the audio problem I have with my S7. As you can see and hear, in this 2 minutes there are several times where the audio gets distorted and drags a little. This happens during music, video, audio, youtube and all the other media playback. It happens both through speakers and headphone. This happens whether when the screen is off or in use. I tried safe mode and factory reset but the problem didn't go away.

S8+ 4k Video Camera Lag / Stuttering

I noticed that 4k video has alot of Stuttering. I am recording directly to the phones memory, and it happens if recording handheld or even on a stabilizer. Is anyone else having similar issues or know a fix?
Here is a sample video recording:
If you go to camera settings and turn off stabilization it will be fine. Ois will still work this just turns off eis.
Eis uses a lot of cpu power and thus the stuttering. Known issue. Hopefully there will be a fix

Thanks, didn't think a feature would make it not work well. I think it would be better if they disabled it by default since it causes issues in 4k. But this will work for now.
Same issue
I have the same issue but it lags then speeds up, I looked for a shutter setting in my camera, but there isn't one. Has there been a fix for this yet?
This has happened on any Android phone that I have used since the Note 4. I have the phone set to record to the SD card (A fast SD card capable of 100mb/s). Image stabilization and auto focus are turned off. I begin recording and everything is starts out smooth for a few seconds. Then a slight pause. The footage then speeds up to compensate. At first I thought this was merely a playback issue. I exported the video to my PC and the same lag is apparent. I hate to say this, but I have never had this issue on iPhones.

choppy video recordings?

Hi Guys,
does any of you have issues with recorded videos?
When i shoot a video in 4K the video is not smooth - seems like from time to time some frames get stuck or something and it breaks the fluidity of the video (the footage kindof skips some frames).
I tried shooting in 1080p60fps and in this mode i occasionaly get pretty significant FPS drops (from 60fps)
See example of a video shot in 4k:
https://cloud.leitner.ltd/index.php/s/THMnU8BVXdFqZsm (see a frame skip at 7-8 seconds?)
is it supposed to be like this? I tried wiping the cache in the recovery, but that didnt help. When i first got the phone 2 months ago, videos looked okay.
Try to do a fresh install, clear all data and without any apps running in the background. If it still happen, that could be a hardware issue.
I have same problem on my u11 6/126gb. I'm experiencing fps drops on 60fps recording.
I have the same issue with my u11 ?
Just a thought...are you saving the video to the internal memory or sd card?

After Oreo update video stutters during recording with video stabize enabled?
Recording at 1080P/30 fps.
After update I cleared all caches and rebooted. Install went smooth and phone seems to run properly.
I have also gotten the screen go black for a moment during normal usage but returns to normal quickly.
Any Ideas or suggestions?
