Hi Everyone,
I used to have Honor 6X which was stolen so I switched to Moto G5s Plus. I still miss Honor 6X's camera.
Is there anyway to port Honor 6X's camera app on EMUI 4.1 or 5.0 to be used on all Android devices with Nougat without need or root?
Thanks in Advance!
Sumedh
Not that easy man... 6X camera is based on Kirin kernel sources and Huawei vendor partition, and so it need at least these two to properly work. I don't think it'll ever be possible, neither if Kirin complete sources should ever be released (but much time has passed, and i don't think we'll see those released in future).

I bought Huawei Honor 4c in China, but I am always use CM roms before start use Honor 4c. I dont like emui 3.0 because it so beautiful, I just need Android native UI. I get Honor 4c CPU information from CPUZ, its report honor 4c use Kirin 620 soc made by huawei. Mostly, CM series rom are based on Qualcomm cpu phones (Except Huawei Honor 6). I just wanna know, does there have any expect to get CyanogenMod ROM for Huawei Honor 4c? thanks
Hi i had a question about the new Android Oreo, is the Honor 6X going to be updated or not ? And if yes then are all the models going to be updated or only select models ? I have a GR5 2017 (Honor 6X)
Model: BLL-L21 is going to be updated ?
While honor didn't confirm anything, it can be upgraded to android O.
But don't get to excited, as it may not get it (like the 5x ended up with only MM)
honor provided nougat update on honor 6x earlier than redmi note 4. Honor 6x is worldwide popular device they will definitely provide o update
Sent from my BLN-L22 using Tapatalk
yes we will get android O update by the end of this year. but honor has to decide to do the same thing like they released beta version of emui 5 for testers or direct release. andorid O is emui 5.1 on the way.
Honor didn't confirm anything so far, so these are just expectations
I hope this is true

Probably not going to happen - unless it is very easy to port from Honor 8 Pro/Honor 9.

While your guess is on point (because honor 5x didn't get it), I think honor will try updating the 6x to nougat
.
I too think the same as Honor 6x is a very popular phone and it received the nougat update without much delay.
Honor 6x BLN-L22
Well they dropped the 7 because of Vulkan and Google's update policy.
As for the 6x, I don't see why they'll leave it without update to oreo.
If it happened that'll be the biggest mistake honor will do this year
Guys, I'm a little confused.
GR5 201 7 and Honor 6X are the same phone. But what about Mate 9 Lite? It is the same phone too, the only differences are the shell and the brand logo.
I mean, Huawei is working on Android 8 for the Mate 9, so probably Mate 9 Lite will get Oreo too.
In fact, when Huawei updates a phone, the lite version usually gets the same update too. Let's think about P8 and P8 lite, P9 and P9 Lite, etc.
But I'm worried because Honor 5X stopped receiving updates at Marshmallow, after only one year of guaranteed support.
I'm hoping for Mate 9 Lite update, what do you think?

Following the record of huawei and updates, it should get oreo.
I think it will get the oreo update as honor 4c had recieved two major updates too.. and if it dont get it..
Then there is honor 8 lite/p8 lite 2017/p9 lite 2017 released with nougat.. it will surely receive one major upgrade thats oreo.
And this device is almost same to ours only the difference is dual cameras and screen size..

So someone at xda can port official emui 5.1 with oreo from honor 8 lite to our 6x..

Porting EMUI will be difficult, as it isn't open sourced like MIUI

Oh okk.. then i hope n wish it will get Oreo.. as im planning to buy itt
Anyone working on official custom builds of LOS or RROS for honor 8(frd)? emui sucks.
They have unofficial ones (though the battery life sucks on both). I would recommend AOSPA (paranoid android) which I am currently using.
Wait until EMUI 8.0 With Oreo and Treble drops, then use a Treble compatible ROM, if you look at the Honor 8 Pro forums, they already use a Treble ROM which is near perfect. Should be the same for us then just a little more patience.

I don't have doubts, Honor France and Honor Poland both said that the Honor 8 will get EMUI 8.0, they also mentioned that "One does not go with the other" in other meaning "EMUI 8.0 doesn't work without Oreo" which means that EMUI 8.0 will also include Oreo. If it was only a feature update/ported features, they would have called it EMUI 5.2 like they did before with EMUI 5.0.1.
Also all Huawei/Honor phone get Treble alongside Oreo since they already use their own vendor partition which means they don't have to reformat the device (which COULD result into a brick, thats why OnePlus and Nokia won't include Treble on the Oreo updates).

Thanks for information bro, I'll wait for Oreo then. The last option is I'll have to walk to Poland ?
Not so far
when we get oreo 8.1 custom rom for honor 8???
...lower budget mobiles like redmi, moto, leeco le max, lenovo etc already got pixel experience rom,,,
when we get for our honor 8 device
The developers are waiting for EMUI 8 to drop out because it will likely bring treble support. This will make it way easier to make ROMs.
Dont compare SD devices with Kirin one. Is much harder to develop a rom for Kirin. So if you want custom roms, go for SD
There is an Oreo discussion there already in our forum. Ask there, it's been discussed already. https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/honor-8-oreo-discussion-thread-t3735941
Just wonder any developer plan to build a custom kernel (8.1.0) for our L09 euro version of view10 at all, I can help to test it, because I find out that the signal is a bit weak compare to those SD820 machine, dunno if it's kernel related or not

Maybe we should wait for pie, and having the sources...
There's only 8.0 kernel sources for BKL-L09/L29.
And even so, those sources are broken on View 10. (But works fine on Mate 10 Pro, even camera works which doesn't on Mate 10 Pro built kernel. Huawei...)

Probably huawei not focus on our device at all, compare to those other China brand (e.g. Oneplus) they have better source and support to customers... even we don't have emui 8.1 yet...the US L04 already have!
