Ok so I'm new to the OPO and new to flashing a custom rom. I just bought a OPO on ebay (for $115) and want to flash it as it still has the original cyanogen installed on it. I'm thinking Oxygen, but I'm not against Lineage. It looks pretty straightforward based on some of the videos I've watched on YouTube. Any recommendations on a good and easy rom for a n00b to install and use? Stability and usability will be my highest priorities right now.

It's actually still in the mail, I'm just trying to prep in advance I actually had a choice between 2 for that price range, the other had Oxygen already installed, so I figured he had already rooted it. So this one I have no idea, but I do believe it's unmodded.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to check to make sure im getting a good deal here. Someone is on their way to me with a 32gb tf300 with dock, car charger, and boxes in supposedly near perfect shape. Is $280 usd still a good deal for a 32gb version? They will be here in an hour so any quick feedback is appreciated
Also, I know the screen isnt as good as the tf201 which I previously owned, but ill primarily be using it indoors to watch netflix on rather than my note 2. Im going to guess its more than fine for that purpose right? Ill likely be NRGizing it

Oh well. Bought it anyway. I'm surprised no one chimed in though. Seems like 280 to my door delivered was good enough. Just unlocked the BL / flashed twrp / and am running NRG on it

Thats exactly what I was looking for. I wasnt sure how much the 16 and 32gb are going for Looks like I did get a deal indeed as mine is the 32Gb model ! Right now im running NRG's rom though. It was fully updated to 4.2 when I got it but luckily I found the TWRP specific to it that worked. I may take the time today and downgrade it though. Im not sure if its the BL or what but this thing is terribly laggy. It was worse with Cromix than with nrg's. Ive read everywhere that people recommend doing the fastboot downgrade to 4.1 ( to get 4.1's bootloader i assume ).
Thanks all for your input

When i buy any electronic device on craigslist, i use the manufacturer's method for wiping it completely clean and starting over. For you, that would be factory reset from TWRP (include wiping internal sdcard) fastboot the latest official blob file from asus, flash TWRP and then install the ROM of choice. You never know what the other guy did with/to it :/

/agree.
Already done my friend When I first got it, it was bone stock but fully updated to 4.2. Stock worked smooth but Cromi and NRG seemed to jitter / hiccup when i FINALLY got twrp working. Im thinking it had something to do with the bootloader and rom combo. I just used FB and went to 4.1 and installed TWRP 2.4.4.0 as that seems to be the combination that works well. Im currently downloading Cromi again to give it another go. What kernel are you using ?
Right now im sitting on stock 4.1.1 build 10.4.2.20 with TWRP 2.4.4.0

Im running the Stock moddified 10.6.1.15.3 kernel on my own ROM. Granted there is SOME jitteryness, but in all honesty, it more than likely is the app. Facebook especially, it tries performing background tasks to update your news feed, and im not sure whats with them but they fail to use the dual core and higher of the device. 99 percent of the devices are dual core or higher, i find facebook to only wanna use the main core -.- causing the most amount of lag.

I think for now I will use stock rooted 4.1.1 with Unters Kernel. It seems to run pretty smooth. Much better than any other alternatives ive tried so far. Why did Asus have to make things difficult >.> Roms specific to bootloaders..... ugh

True enough..... twas the same with my tf201 if I remember correctly ( or tf101...... i forget LOL ). Anyway, Im glad I picked this thing up. We have root, xposed mod, not sure on the progress of the boot unlock.. Battery life stock is better than the nexus 5. And the g3 has outstanding stand by time too. Check out reviews if you're not sure.

I've had no issues with the stock Rom. I really hope a boot loader unlocked at some point
Stock ROM with root, Xposed mods and Nova Launcher = a great phone. Stock alone is just OK.

I just rooted my AT&T LG G3 using "ioroot", took
me less than 3 minutes at most, rooted on first try.
So now I have root, but what about twrp custom recovery
or some other custom recovery?
Go ahead and unlock the bootloader while you're at it, then we'll be in business.

Hey community! I am currently and sadly a GS4 user with AT&T. Have had to deal with safestrap which im thankful for, never a full unlock. Just purchased a G3 off swappa. Definitely looking forward to having full control over my device without restrictions.
Read around and rooting is obviously easy. Custom recovery is what im going to be looking into next. Whats your current rom if running custom? If your still on stock, why?
Cheers

Hello and welcome! I think you'll find the G3 to be a great device, especially now that there is development for it. I am running my Candy5 ROM. It's based on CM12 with some goodies added. Give it a shot once you get TWRP flashed. You won't regret it :good:

Thanks

I was exactly like you except still had my s4 on mf3 firmware (which I passed down to my gramps): I got my g3 a lil after black Friday and love it. I'm running on pa 4.4.4 still since the battery life is phenomenal and basically no bugs. I do plan on going onto cm12 in the near future I think since its gone 'official' a few days ago. Btw I rooted mine with purpledrake

I'm a little confused. Wasn't the whole bumping thing website removed? Can development still happen if roms and kernels can't be bumped?

I just got an LG G3 a couple of days ago and still using my first Note (i717) as a tablet. I cannot believe how smooth and fast this thing is, originally I was going to get the Note 4 but I'd rather spend $1.09 than $249.99+tax. So here I am an LG G3 member and it's good to be back on the forums with a fresh device.
Until At&T stop acting like a little-baby-b***h and locking their devices, you can try the available tools and tricks to get by.

I moved over from Samsung Note 10 and I must say it's a much better phone in everything. Its hugely surprising about the difference in quality between both phones.

Not without a custom ROM, I guess. I've no reason to need a sync toggle, but no doubt you have your reasons.
Yes, rooted. Stock ROM. Very happy with it, just waiting for 11 to drop. I expect it to be around December.

Hi Kboya, after flashing the rom, were you able to install specific customizations eg, changing of fonts etc?
Stock ROM, as stated. I've no interest in changing fonts. If you want to do that kind of thing you need a custom ROM or there might be suitable Magisk modules
Hello!
Just got my 7P from the Black Friday sale (I'm in Europe so a friend who was flying in got it for me).
Still haven't turned it on. Question: should I update first, then root? Or root first, then update?
Maybe it's a silly question and the answer is "update first because updating will remove rooting anyhow", but I don't know if they have maybe changed something lately and rooting is more difficult or whatever...
Thanks!
Yu can always update your phone, some you will, before and after root
So if it's all the same I guess I'll update first or I'll have to re-root...
You can update to beta & then root. No worries. However, If you want to install a custom rom, you may want to stay on 12 until checking the requirements of the ROM.

If you want to update while keep root you can use Pixel Flasher.
i gonna suggest to disable dm-verity at the first time as well, so if in the future you opt to use custom kernel (which i think, you should) you wont need to wipe your phone

Running newest beta just released ..I got pixel to root and stuff..Phones are boring now ..But I gotta figure it out soon as I get time .Just haven't had time yet
When I got mine, before I even inserted the SIM, I connected to WiFi and updated Android and Google Play, then I inserted the SIM, ran through the setup quickly, unlocked bootloader, rebooted and rooted using Pixel Flasher, wiping Veritas and Verification. That way for any future updates, I would be set to flash with PF, moving forward and that has been very simple
Thanks, awesome. Sounds like a great tool, wish there was something like that for OnePlus!
