i've an xz premium G8141 and i would like to remove the carrier firmware and place an original firmware due the fact that my carrier did not release oreo yet.
Can someone link me a noob guide to do it?
Atm my phone is running android 7.1.1 with security patch 1st september builkd 45.0.a.137

Hi everyone
I have just purchased my first Sony phone, the Z5.
It is on Vodafone UK but has been officially unlocked. I wish to debrand and put on stock Sony android software so remove the network branding. Can someone pleas ehlpe as I have never done this before. I have just downloaded flashtool.
My second question - If I use flashtool to change to stock software, will I still receive OTA updates for future software updates rather than having to use flashtool all the time?

Hi to all, sorry if I port afloat this old thread.
I have a Z5 with a MM branded firmware (TIM Italy). I already know how to debrand it flashing another compatible firmware.
My question is: is it necessary wipe all data, also if I flash another MM firmware?
By what I read, I understood that if I stay on the same major update (in this case MM) I shouldn't meet any kind of problem also if I didn't wipe all. Is it right?

Baseband version G930FXXU1APB4. It is still stuck on feb update with no ota when checking.
I wish to update it to the latest april version but dont know which software to choose from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/ .
Can you guys help me and provide a changelog for march or april mm update
If you need any more info concerning current software dont hesitate

Hey, this is my first post and I'm inexperienced with Android tinkering so I apologize if I've broken any rules. I searched but would like clarification as Nougat has changed things.
Is there any way to enable the fingerprint reader after the Nougat OTA for the US version of the XZ F8331?
I mistakenly didn't realize Nougat had changed things and unwittingly soft bricked my XZ the other day but managed to unbrick it and really want to avoid bricking it again.
It seems that downgrading to Marshmallow via flashtool is possible? so maybe it could be possible to downgrade to the UK Marshmallow and then get the UK Nougat OTA and then get the fingerprint reader to function that way?
Any rom you use that isn't the US rom will allow fingerprint to work.
Right, but flashtool isn't compatible with Nougat yet. I just got the idea of using Emma though, will look into it more soon
Yeah, you can just flash an MM rom and update to Nougat via OTA.
EMMA will only work with devices with unlocked bootloaders.
You are correct in your first thought. Just flash a UK FTF for MM and get the OTA Nougat update.
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately the Customized UK MM FTF seems to be no longer available from XperiFirm and I haven't had any luck trying to find it elsewhere.
How much does the Market/Operator matter? Maybe a customized MM FTF from another region is better? Anything I should be worried about?

Not really. Only a bit of bloatware, everything else is about the same.
You may be able to find an older FTF from here though

I am wondering the same - new F8331 on N OTA and enabling the fingerprint reader. Any luck on your end figuring this out?
I've been running customized NOBA in my Z5 for a while here in the US and have been very happy with it. Customized NOBA for the XZ still hasn't been updated to Nougat, so that could be an option. I don't get to unwrap my XZ until Christmas, so I've already downloaded the MM version currently on Xperifirm to re-enable my fingerprint sensor first.
I like customized NOBA because it has bloatware you can completely uninstall.
You should be able to google the central europe firmware (marshmallow) and use that. I just fixed 2 XZs yesterday after banging my head against the wall over the firmware.
Update to marshmallow using flashtool and then OTA update to nougat. Central Europe works perfectly and I get the LTE symbol (some people hated the 4G symbol even though it's the same). Finger print scanner works (both phones are US versions from Amazon).

So I just purchased one and i can't fix it using methods online. Can u help me one on one thru skype like now please, i appreciate it.
I have an LG Q6+, M700AN. It's the version we have in Russia. Not sure about other countries that have the same ROM index.
Currently the Android version is 7.1.1 with the security update of September 1st, 2017.
I know that European ROMs receive regular updates and even Android version upgrades, but not the AN version.
So I started looking for other ROM versions and found this site (lg-firmwares com) with a lot of firmwares for M700.
So I'd like to know what would be the proper ROM index for the Q6+ dual-sim with NFC support, so I won't brick my phone.

Ok, so I found out that the M700AN hardware is pretty similar to M700DSN.
I flashed the most recent firmware dated February 2018 and it's working fine.
Does anybody here own M700DSN and could check this link?

The Firmwares are located on the LG Website and IMEI is not required to Download the firmware files as far i know.
I have M700DSK and the latest FW is 16FEB2018 on 1 Jan 2018 Patch so i dont think that more recent software is available
Can the FW be flashed on Diffrent Varient Without Unlocking the Bootloader (Using LG Suite) ..?

I have bought a second hand XZ Premium and i just verify why i don't recieve any OTA of Pie, or basicaly any OTA since november 2017, there is the journalist and comercial versión, and the last update was a year and 4 months ago. The CDA is 1309-9931 for the G8141 model.
Can I change the CDA number and set any other? How can i cahnge it?

You can flash any version with newflasher.For firmware downloads, you can use xperifirm.tools can be found in XDA, and the thread also contains tutorials.

yes , it's sure you can. bcz all xz premium based on the same hardware to all model. but if ur phone is g8141 be sure u use g8141 firmware too.
actually u can use the other model firmware, but there's maybe some bug, example= the nfc doesnt work
